I am using this shoe as my marathon shoe next week and your review is bang on with my experience so far as well. I've only had the squeaking on one run and that was with wet conditions and a stone that got trapped in the gap. I thought it was a one-off, so it's helpful to know it wasn't just me. Also, the European price for this is ridiculous. I like the shoe, but I don't love it.

I own the black pair. When I opened them up, I really thought I accidentally ordered them in wide, but they were regular size. They felt comfortable but had way too much side-to-side wiggle room.

Got the Rebel 4 recently which has been absolutely amazing as a daily trainer. But this one doesn't look like all that much of an upgrade for so much more money.

I tried it. Midsole feels amazing. Price in Europe is terrible. Fit so wide I could go down half a size. Will buy once it's on sale.

Bought this shoe for my first marathon next Sunday(Pittsburgh, PA). I'm a heel striker, ran in the shoe for the first time yesterday & it felt great. I'm an 7:45-8:00/mile pacer, so the foam should work well for me.

I've sorted the heel slip by swapping out the stretchy laces and adding a 4mm heel wedge. Leaves enough volume for toe splay and is more comfortable than most super shoes over the marathon, more soft and "gentle" as you describe. Would love them to be lighter, and they are over priced here in Australia, too. Definitely a good option for those who, like me, can't take a super stiff super shoe to the marathon distance. Mine are squeak free at 200km.

@@ertagooo It has worked for me. Generic 4mm heel wedge off eBay, and I used SofSole oval laces. I’ve seen other comments suggesting that the Elite v4 is more like a super trainer than a race shoe, and that’s a fair point. I’ll probably burn through them for my long runs after a few marathons. But they’re comfortable with the stack, new foam and the wonderfully broad and rounded toe box! Overpriced, but if you can find them on sale go for it!

I've worn these 3 times so far . I've put 40 miles on the sc v4 and the rubber on the rear heel is already worn . Compared to the rebel v4 the rubber on the R v4 has held up after 60 miles

Amazingly comfortable shoe, it’s NOT a super shoe. It’s a super shoe price however. Looks amazing and can’t wait to get it on Black Friday sale. Cielo X1 is what this shoe thinks it is, the Hoka doesn’t look nearly as good tho.

To expensive for what it is! I payed in London 310€ for them (converted from british pounds), they don't deserve more than 220€. Good for workout, nor for racing. Heel cup is agressive, rubbing on Achiles tendon. Asics Edge vs Sky Paris are way better and cheaper. Hoka Rocket X2 also. So many better and cheaper options out there!
Nice design is what is selling them.

I usually love New Balance shoes, but I just don't know how to feel about this one. I don't like the new design, and it sounds like a 280 euro super trainer. I am curious to see how the SC Trainer v3 turned out, but it wouldn't surprise me at this point, if they bumped up the price to 250.
