I think they have stopped manufacturing the diesel automatic in the Crysta which was a big game changer. Considering poor traffic conditions, a diesel automatic in the Crysta is still required.

Crysta is very heavy on steering !! Plus the engine clatter after 2/3 yrs becomes annoying!! Fuel price difference in between petrol and diesel is marginal so petrol is better!! And the best part is after 5/6 yrs the petrol cars still feel crisp whereas the Diesel engines start their loud clatter and maintenance costs !!
Yes one thing is that the hycross is underpowered considering the fact while driving on a full load of 7/8 seats with luggage
But as it is our highways have speed restrictions on 100 km h … so it’s ok I feel ..
the hybrid hycross is a better bet in case u want power because the moment ur on a hill climb or ghat area the car switches on ev mode and the power is full on

I think the best gen of Innova was till 2015, because with the Crysta, the innova seen in taxi segment became quite less due to the almost 70% price hike. But the best part about Hycross is that it's lower varients haven't recieved a price hike as compared to Crysta.

Innova has been a legend of sorts on Indian roads. None was complaining about its mechanicals: the diesel motor, the BoF, the RWD - all they had to do was to modernise with stuff like AEB, higher quality parking camera, ventilated seats...
