IT DID?!?!?!?! OMG i came straight home from work and sat and filmed this, my brain couldn't comprehend anything else AAAAA
So the blue hunter that showed up at the end is actually a rival Bounty Hunter named Sylux and he actually showed up in Metroid Prime: Hunters for the DS back in the day though he was ALWAYS meant to show up in the console games as a long form antagonist. So yeah. 18 or so years but the boy is FINALLY getting the respect he's deserved.
Yup. He was teased to be the next baddie at the end of Prime 3
And he was teased again in the credits scene of Federation Force, and it actually had him getting an actual Metroid, explaining why they're with him here in the trailer.
As a guy who has been a Metroid fan since I was a kid, I also got emotional seeing this reveal. I thought i was dreaming when i saw the gameplay. Metroid means alot to me and is my favorite video game series. 2025 needs to get here now.

I woke up and was like "METROID MENTION WHERE??" and I've been buzzing with excitement the whole day (even moreso bc zero mission was also announced and i didn't know at the time of recording x) )
Whoever finds this corny or crazy hasn't been passionate about characters before! I'm not a Metroid person but I've still been happy to see the reactions, with this one easily being the best I've seen, the passion really comes through strong!

I hope that Metroid Prime 4 doesn't get delayed again! Admittedly I've never played the Prime games but I love Super, Zero Mission, Fusion and Dread. Metroid fans need all the crumbs they can get honestly.
I'm hoping it'll be worth the wait and I have full faith it will!
Prime 1 was a struggle but I loved it so much. But I love Super, Zero Mission, Fusion, and Dread and that remake we got on the 3DS all that time ago. (Metroid NES is... rough but it was the beginning of something special)

The first prime had a remake made for it on switch. I think it's like $40 highly recommended for the wait for 4
I totally understand having such a reaction to this announcement - I had a similar experience with Kingdom Hearts 3's announcement, and while my history with KH isn't quite the same as yours and Metroid's, I get where you're coming from
I think it's not about how long the history is but the impact it has anyways. I only knew metroid from smash and only got into the games in 2015 or so. so thankful for video games that mean so much to us on any level 💖

I was lucky enough to snatch a gamecube for 40€ back in 2007 so I got the chance to play Prime 1 and 2. And later Prime 3 when I was able to afford the Wii. So finally seeing Prime 4 feels so unreal to me after all this time... Also in case you're wondering, the villain in the blue suit only appears in a prime spin off game for the DS called Prime Hunters. His ship can be seen in an ending sequence of Prime 3 and apparently his shoulder spike can be seen at the end of Federation force, but nobody played that one.
Oh! Thank you for letting me know who that is! I think I may have played a snippet on my friend’s DS like… 15 years ago or whenever DS was current😭
And yeah funnily enough I remember Federation Force existing more often than Other M. I didn’t play Other M but I watched some of the cutscenes and was like 🧍🏻♀️😭

Eh, I've been waiting since Prime 3 in 2007 to get some answers for what Sylux is all about. It's good to see that that'll finally happen.

Samus is easily my favorite video game character of all time. I was introduced to the Metroid series with Prime 3 back in 2007 and immediately loved it. Went on to play Super, Fusion, Zero Mission and the other Prime games. The exploration depth and music is what really pulled me in. Just everything about these games is something so unique and special. Time to 100 percent another Prime game in 2025.
The guy at the end is Sylux. He's from Metroid Prime Hunters. Dude's got some beef with the G-Feds and we don't know much about him. I can't wait to see how his story evolves or resolves in Prime 4, it'd be nice to get some answers.
I admit I’m a Metroid newbie having started with Dread and played my friend’s copy of Samus Returns after that. I started Prime 1 on my old GameCube some years ago but never finished it and need to go back what with the remaster. Still I very much look forward to Prime 4 since I’ve fallen quite in love with the series myself after years of knowing about the games but being unable to properly experience them for years.
No matter how many Metroid games you've played or finished, the thing that matters is that you enjoy what you have experienced! I didn't play an actual metroid game until I was in college! Dread is an amazing game and one of my favorites, and I think ultimately we are just happy to hear Metroid news to support this franchise💖

@@juunibug 64 I replayed religiously to such a comical degree I lost count how many times I beat it! Starfox Adventures (the one with the dinosaurs) was fun but it clearly wasn’t supposed to be the game it ended up being. Assault was decent also but had too many on-foot levels, and Zero turned a lot of people off with the weird controls and being yet another reboot. I didn’t have a DS to enjoy Command but heard it was pretty good. Honestly that series is in desperate need of the same kind of attention Metroid has gotten, where someone finally sat down and said “give the people what they’ve wanted already.” 😆

You sweet adorable woman, please don't feel bad or embarrassed for feeling inspired by a female protagonist on a video game series as legendary as Metroid, or in a video game period. This is coming from a guy that absolutely LOVES the Metroid series. I used to think that Samus was a guy when I was little when I first saw her in Super Smash Bros 64. And as I grew up (I'm still growing up {we all continue to grow up}), I eventually found out that Samus was a woman when my mom bought me Metroid Prime on the GameCube several years ago, and that made me even MORE interested in the Metroid series.
To make a long story short, I just Thank GOD that Nintendo decided to make the switch, both literally and figuratively, because without them making the switch, none of this would even be a reality, it just would've been an extremely lucid pipe dream. But the blessed news is that it IS a reality, and it brings me so much joy to come across people like you that expresses their heartfelt sentiment for a beloved video game franchise. The world needs more tender-hearted souls like you💖.

And I think the cool thing about Samus is is that she’s appealing to all kinds of people, I’m really happy they decided to make her a woman as a woman, but she’s just really cool and badass and I think anyone can find inspiration in that fact as well❤️
The Metroid fandom I find is really passionate about so many aspects from the lore to the gameplay, it’s really fun when I am able to revisit these games. She’s been a constant for me for about 20 years and I hope we’ll get more Metroid as we do other Nintendo franchises❤️❤️❤️

I probably had similar reactions when Dread and Prime Remastered first announced. Plus, I was incredibly happy when Dread got an award. Samus is my favourite character of all time. She’s so badass and her powerful heart and sense of justice are such powerful inspirations for me. She loves and cares for those in her universe and she would do anything for everyone if it means they’re all safe and happy. Even finding potential in the creatures she was ment to drive to extinction in the baby Metroid showed to me how much she absolutely, genuinely cares and loves. And her undying willpower, strength, and compassion also inspires me immensely. She has the utmost empathy a warrior can ever have. And despite all the absolute pain, torment, and hell she goes through, she still soldiers on to protect everyone in the universe! Even if it means dying in the process, which is something incredibly difficult for anyone to grapple with except her. There’s not a doubt in my mind that had anyone filled her role, they would fail and die. Many have tried with similar abilities, tools, skills, and experience, all have failed because they lack all the perseverance, determination, willpower, strength, skill, knowledge, and compassion that she has in SPADES. It’s her compassion which saves the universe. She inspires me so god damn much to be the best person I can be and to help everyone in any way I can. She’s already helped me through so much in my life already and I’m so incredibly happy the Metroid series is having a resurgence in this new decade. I’m forever grateful for her being around in my life and I really wish her and her series the success they deserve. Thank you so much for everything, Samus Aran. See you next mission.
I love this so much. She has such a quiet yet powerful strength and compassion to her. Saving the animals and having them appear in fusion, resting in her ship is so sweet to me. The baby Metroid protecting her from Mother Brain has gotten me teary eyed before. Such an amazing character who doesn’t need to say much to convey how amazing she is. ❤️
zero mission is playable on the switch right now btw
If you can get ahold of a Wii, or Wii U, try getting the Prime Trilogy. The pointer controls on the Wii are MUCH better than the Gyro for the Switch. You'll also need to sit a bit from the sensor for the wii. About 2 meters. Prime 2 is my favorite Metroid game. I've played hundreds of games over the years and Metroid Prime is and forever will be my number 1 so I'm right behind you in the hype

I also didn't expect Metroid Prime 4 to appear in the direct either, alongside the announcement of fusion coming to Switch Online. It looks really amazing and it is pushing the graphical boundaries of what the Switch can do. And there will most likely be a Switch 2 version as well. Metroid Prime 4 will be a cross gen title! And I didn't think your reaction was corny. It was kinda cute actually. And why does Samus mean so much to you?
TLDR: Grew up with video games my whole life, and there weren't many female characters I knew of until Samus and Chun-Li. They inspired me a lot growing up, especially when I had trouble in school. Mained Zero Suit in Smash 4 and won a small university tournament and playing as her gave me the confidence to not give up when i was nervous. Winning pushed me to finally find the games to play. She's awesome!

Samus Aran is also my favorite video game character, by a significant margin, and I'm a guy. For me, I've always liked the archetypal knight in shining armor, the paladin, stuff like that, and she always struck me a little like a scify Joan of Arc. I remember the first time I saw her; it was on a 1991 Nintendo Calendar my older sibling had, and it showed her with her armor off and the caption was like "Now it can be revealed, bounty hunter Samus Aran is actually a woman!" and something about that really stuck with me. Then I got to play Super Metroid and the game blew my mind, and some years later bought a GameCube just for Metroid Prime (now my favorite game of all time), and I got a Switch just for Dread. I regularly replay all the Metroid games, and just finished replaying the Prime Trilogy right before this Direct because I was hoping so hard we'd see something about Prime 4. I simultaneously can barely contain my excitement, and feel over hyped and like I'm just going to shut down at the same time. I typically settle for just looking up other reactions to the trailer (like this one). And yours was a really good reaction, and I totally agree with it.

I just finished FF7 OG for the first time in April. I love Aerith so much and am happy I can see some of Briana's stuff as I progress through the game but she is an amazing Aerith!💖

I find it really funny that you are a big fan of Metroid but haven't played very many games (at least the Prime games and a few older games from what I can tell) and it reminds me of myself with the Zelda series. I love Zelda, but I've only played the console games and missed out on most if not all the handheld games. Which there are a lot.
As far as I'm concerned, the Metroid series has never had an objectively bad game, and I do count Other M and Federation Force as being good games because they are, they just have questionable choices in design and story while having actual good gameplay. I'm totally looking forward to Prime 4. I wish I still had my copy of Prime Trilogy so I can revisit those masterpieces in preparation.
I have played Metroid NES, Super Metroid, Zero Mission, Fusion, Samus Returns, Dread and Metroid Prime 1 Remastered.
I got into the series in college because I never owned a Metroid game growing up, I also did not own a GameCube and none of my friends played Metroid so I was clueless. Decided once I won a small Smash Tournament that I should check out the games and learn so that’s when I began to go beyond Smash Bros.
