The part where he's like "laurance is good at piano" and the kid smiles just makes me happy, and the part with "you mean we're not in the band" and he assigns them each a role is just awesome.
He is a real teacher. He doesn't lie to anyone. Only the Rector to get the spot as one. This movie is really showing how is the relationship teachers have with your kids. Jack is showing us, everyone with a small good sense of progress can lead others. Teaching is the second most difficult profession in the world after parenting.
