- Had to get 'Discharged' from Dental Care, so popped over to do that, drop my jacket in to be rewaterproofed, & have a wander around. Nice sunny walk, went there once on train and stayed 1 hour, came back to the Warren. Good pics old station. Towns getting run down there everywhere...

Hey Bill. Nice trip to Newton. Not been there for years, must give it a visit. The station is certainly grander now than it was before the rebuild in 1920s. You go out for a walk and chat to us and then we chat to you later in the day. Win, win 😊. Hope mum is okay after her dizzy spell 🤞 quando quando quando (love it) 😂

Great to have a wander around Newton,a proper railway town. Patsy and I won some free cinema tickets for Newton and we’re now waiting for a decent film .
Very sad to see all the empty shops , my how times have changed, it used to be thriving and in particular on market days.

Hi Bill, did you know Newton Abbot was nicknamed Little Swindon, this was due to the GWR railway works and workers houses being built in the same style as the ones in Swindon.

of Marine Propeller's
Interestingly following closure it was used for a time by the nearby Dart Valley Railway prior to the construction of their own purpose built facility at Buckfastleigh

You caught the blue unit coming back and didn't note it🙀. We were in the square in Newton Abbot just last year and it was nice and busy with tables and chairs and didn't notice any closed shops - as you say a shame😿. My grandfather being from railway working stock had a 00 gauge miniature of newton abbot train station and town. In his shed
