High Risk Traffic Stop On Burglary Suspect | West Phoenix

Phoenix Police officers responded to reports of a residential burglary in progress near 27th Avenue and Pierson Street shortly before 3:00 AM Wednesday morning. Sources say a black male suspect was reportedly banging on the front door of a residence, armed with a hand gun, ordering the victim to hand over their phone while hurling homicidal threats. Officers responding to the call spotted the suspect driving away from the scene and followed the vehicle as it traveled westbound on Camelback Road. Ground units in coordination with the Phoenix Police Air Unit initiated a high risk traffic stop on the vehicle near 43rd Avenue and Camelback Road. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and one female passenger was detained.
