What was the symptoms for you to have to change the linkage
In this car case, it was a loose feeling gear being unable to get gears it's easy to check for if you remove the air boxes, you can visually see the linkage
Sending this to my dad right now! He loves watching auto repair videos!

Thanks. Hopefully, he will enjoy it

I've done the gear linkage on my 206 now. I just wanted to say thank you for making this video it really helped i wouldn't have had a clue how to do it otherwise, and i asked at my local garage wanted £300 + to do it .everything works perfectly now
I'm glad that you found the video helpful 😀
Wow, you made that look really easy. I've just ordered the parts to do the same job on my 206. Hopefully, it'll go as well for me .
I hope it goes smoothly for you. If you do get stuck, feel free to ask any questions, and I'll do my best to help
@Dobby Repairs thank you. I'll keep you posted on what happens 🤞 it goes well
Good video. Got the same job to look forward to on my wife's Pug 206. Gear shift quality feels like trying to stir a pile of bricks.
Thanks for the comment, and I hope it goes for you. If you get stuck, feel free to ask, and I'll do my best to help
Changed gear linkages, took a bit longer than you did😀 all gears restored, thank you for your video 👍😀
I'm glad you found it helpful
13mm spannet works better for removing linkages from ball joints
Thanks for the tip. I will bear that in mind for the future
A really useful video. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks a lot for the video. It was very helpfull. I fixed the linkage myself, Peugeot 206 XS line 1.6.
Awesome great to hear 👍
Solved a gear linkage with your video, not permanently but its tight in place with a small cable
Awesome, gald it was able to help you
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
joli travail
Thanks
Thanks buddy good video :)
No problem thanks for watching
Muito bom.
What is that rubber you pulled of from the throttle body? I don't have it on my 1.4 kfw
It's a seal for the air pipe to throttle body. it's only on early models from what I've seen. so, depending on the age of yours, it may not need one
Hi! What size are the bars?
Hi, i can find out for u. Just give me a bit of time
Hi, I've just checked the length of them, and the longest one is 45cm, and the other two are 16cm. I hope that helps
Did it not require any grease on the linkages? If so what did you use?
I didn't put any extra grease on mine as the replacement linkage came pre-greased but if you want to add extra or yours isn't greased all ready then you can use multi-purpose grease
@@dobbyrepairs bless you thanks mister :)
Does the original part have those weights at each side?
Yes, the original part on this model does have the same bits at the ends on some models they can be slightly different looking hope that answers your question
Dag mijn versnelings bak pook is los in auto is dat daar door ?
Het is zeer waarschijnlijk dat dit bij deze auto ook het geval was
It's highly likely to be the case it definitely was in this car
Is it the same for the 2.0 16v 136hp s16?
To the best of my knowledge, yes, it is . The best way to tell is to take a look at the linkage on it .
Is this the same on a 1.4hdi ? thanks
it is the same for the 1.4hdi as far as I know
@@dobbyrepairs Thank you!
@@dobbyrepairsMy 206's gears are a bit sticky and hard to put in sometimes. I'm assuming it's from the linkage since it also does it with the engine off. You reckon this will help?
It's worth having a look at the linkage before replacing it to see if there is any play in the joints . It's hard to say if it'll help without seeing the car .
😅😅
Is this a auto car thanks
It's a manual car are you having problems with auto ?
@@dobbyrepairs Yes its a Auto A mechanic said to me, They were common for the linkage bushes to fall mine only drives in reverse Thanks Damian
I see if you drop me an email dobbyrepairs@gmail.com with the reg I'll happily see if I can find you the right linkage and do my best to advise how to fit it
@@dobbyrepairs Now someone else said might need a new gearbox but they have not seen it, Because its auto and it drives only in reverse ? thanks
It is a possibility that the gearbox has gone is the sector loose feeling when u put in drive ?
Sssssssssssssssssss
Thanks for the comment
