- Helloo my lovelies:) This short vlog shows what my high school’s sports festival was like! It was pretty fun and I’m very glad I was able to experience this part of high school culture in Japan ♡

My name is Sofía and I’m an exchange student in Japan.

•Where do you come from?
I was born in Mexico and I live in Canada.
•How old are you? 17
•How did you learn to speak Japanese? For how long have you been learning it?
I’ve been learning Japanese on my own on and off since 2015. I learn it by studying out of Japanese-learning textbooks and watching educational CZcams videos. I guess I could say I’m a beginner - intermediate, but I’m constantly learning and practicing to improve my Japanese.
•How did you go on exchange?
I’m on exchange through an exchange program called Rotary.
•For how long will you be staying in Japan?
I’ll be on exchange here for 11 months.
•What grade are you in?
I was placed in 二年 (second grade) in my Japanese high school.
•Are all classes only in Japanese? Yes.
•How far do you live from school?
I live quite far from it, around 50 minutes of travel in total. I take the bus to my local train station and then I take the train directly to my school.

I always wanted to see how japanese students live. Ive been curious ever since i have watched students in anime.

Wow. That relay race is real. I mean I know it is real but I thought they just exaggerate it in anime where the student really run and cheer hard. Japanese are so athletic.

sports festivals look so fun- i really love the team spirit aww. in america we call these field days but they are not fun at all. i dislike competing in sports where people watch me, espeically when the team spirit is not good here at all.

I wish I could go to japan rather then staying in idaho in America. It gets very boring when you get used to the area around you and what it has to offer. I've always wanted to travel to japan because its more respectful, not so crazy, beautiful, kind, lovely, and so are all the people. the life there is so incredible its amazing what the human race has adapted and created over century's I cant wait to visit your Japan!
Japan is one of my dream locations, not because I'm a weeb or anything, but because when you compare it to anywhere else Japan has this aura around it. It looks and feels so happy in some regions that it draws you towards it. I want to visit one day after missing a trip with a group of friends to go there (I moved a month before the trip.) Hawaiian schools are the closest I've been since we did have a high population of japanese students, and we do have festivals which Japanese classes from Japan visit our school and we go on tours with them around the Honolulu Island and sometimes to Maui.
I can't wait to go to Japan.

I've lived in Hawaii for a couple of my school years, although it isn't as lively as in Japan, there culture is still prevalent. It's an amalgamation of Hawaiian, Japanese, Chinese, Filipino cultures. I just wish we had festivals, school did get boring at times.

In india there are no gyms for sports like basketball and volleyball
We only have basketball outdoor which is also in bad shape and we volleyball on outdoors and on ground
