  • Review and first impressions of the Hitachi M12ve half inch plunge router. A good powertool for the money, very powerful and seems to be doing the job. Over the past couple of weeks it has actually replaced the smaller Makita and Ive made a few signs and also a corner cupboard. More videos to come this week hopefully.
You can catch up with some extra stuff on fb here / thepoultrypeople
What i didnt cover in the video properly was a bit of trouble getting the bits in and out, setting the bit and collete properly is key, now I've got the hang of that its really good and solid. Experiment with that, get the collete seated in the collar correctly and don't over tighten.
Sent to me by ManoMano, a DIY company that sent me this in exchange for a sign for their workshop. Theres also something else coming up soon and thats going to be a good blast.... more info on that to come!
Current price is £154, which is one of the cheapest ive seen, do I recommend it for the money? Yes, if i had to replace the Makita and after using this Id buy this model, its got plenty of power, it manoeuvres well on the timber. The guide fence works well and seems solid. Ill need to attach a piece of wood along that as well.
Link to the router on their site www.manomano.co.uk/router-tri...
This is my affiliate link, ill get a few pennies if you buy something which helps pay for bills, catfood and for me to keep on making videos. Im part of Manomano's CZcamsrs affiliate programme. This isnt sponsored product placement as Im an independant channel and all opinions are my own.
All the best and thanks for watching and your support. Feel free to ask questions and ill try my best to answer them, theres also a really good vibrant community with a huge depth of knowledge who also usually chip in with some decent info.

I love watching unboxings. You and I are the same when we get new things. Gotta play with it as soon as I get it.

Thanks for the video, this appears to be one of the best value routers out there currently at £159 including vat and delivery rebranded Hikoki MV12e.
I was originally looking at Trend T10 as a budget buy but at around £70 more and failing speed switches and poor bearings the Hikoki/Hitachi looks a better buy.
I would love a Makita model but I can't afford at over twice the price.
The other alternative which I really fancied was the DeWalt 625 but once again nearly twice the price.
Think I will place an order for this really looks like a decent bit of kit from all I have read, hope yours is still going, an update would be great.

Strong machine. At 2:31 there are two bolts on a screw. Removing those two bolts add a handle for micro adjust in height, is there any on the box? Thanks!

by bongo, I'm looking to buy a router, I want to do free hand stuff as well as the usual router jobs. would it be a pain in the ads to see what I'm cutting out as I want to try sign making ect. seen the erbauer plunge router at screwfix for 100quid which isn't bad. but might b better of with a trim router?

I'm loving that you are getting this recognition and companies are sending you good gear because there's people who have made an art of free-loading and they get stuff they will never use and don't deserve. You deserve everything you get and I hope the trucks are lining up at your door soon.
    Best Wishes, Brendan.

Nice bit of recognition for your stellar work dude. You need to get a joint'er thickness'er in your life. I just built a five latch gate from pallet wood prepared with a Titan thickness'er. A true thing of beauty

My very first router just bought 3 days ago. My same reaction Whoa hoo hoo. Metabo fixed/plunge base combo was on sale . I said what the heck. For me, the instructions suck. I'm looking everything up on line. Don't new tools have a good new smell? Not like a new car but close.
