It feels like s physical reaction to the texture instead of an opinion preference. The texture of onions almost makes me hurl. If it's cooked correctly, I love them, like certain fried onion rings or onion straws. Grilled or steamed and I can't handle it.

We only see them eating a few bites of steak and the super heavy sides each video, but I'm sure in their off-camera lives they have a more balanced diet. People don't come to a channel like this expecting health-conscious meals so they play up the "only fatty meat all the time" angle because that's what the people want to see. I think a lot of it is them being themselves to an extent, but part of it is 100% playing a character.

Sprouts used to be bitter 40 years ago but new sprouts are not because it's been breed out. So lots of people passed on the idea that sprouts and veggies are horrible, and won't try then now.
My MIL and FIL once shared a single portion of vegetables for dinner with each other, all week when I stayed with them. I was mortified as they have so many health issues also.
I grew up in an Indian household so we had at least 2 portions every single meal and often ate 9 different types of veggies in a single meal, and veggies were often the star of the show.

If you overcook them, they're gross and smell like farts. Same with the rest of the brassicas, but if you hit the zone on them they're amazing. A lot of people probably grew up only having greens boiled to death for some reason, at least in my corner of America. Broccoli overcooked is awful, but done right is amazing. Same with sprouts.

A former coworker used to call Brussel Sprouts "aborted cabbage fetuses". I love them a lot, cooked with bacon (like Ethan did with the broccoli), add some soy sauce, garlic and ginger. One other suggestion is to preboil the brussel sprouts with salt and sugar, both of which help eliminate the bitter edge. Also, try the carrots with an orange and ginger glaze. Now to really have some fun with Angel... dandelion greens.

Definitely not the sole cause but a diet like that won't help anything once you have problems. The protein from the meat will cause it to progress faster (until you're on dialysis. Then you actually need it), the lack of vitamins means vital protection is lacking, and the sugar and added phosphorus in the Pepsi aren't doing any favors either.
Hopefully dude can get his life around. I have a genetic illness that caused kidney failure and am on dialysis. And the only one of those foods you can still have once your kidneys fail is the meat. Otherwise they can and will kill you.

Could be some type of deficiency. Growing up certain vegetables had horrible taste to me. At a checkup the doctor suggested supplements and after taking them for maybe a month or so, the same vegetables had such a different taste. I still don't like vegetables all that much but I can eat carrots and taste the sweetness. I can stomach broccoli which literally made me sick when I tried to eat it. Green beans for some reason have a metallic sort of taste but I can mask that with vinegar, olive oil and salt if I really have to eat it.

Guga is the kind of guy to make you eat something he made even if you don't like it and put it down your throat....

How else would he have gotten to eat it. The face was priceless with the broccoli though 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hey Guga, thanks for your great videos.
After watching your videos, I have three requests for future videos:
    - Please try some other cattle breeds than wagyu and American beef.
    - How do you clean all your pans and other cooking ustensils so they continue to be so shiny ?
    - Please cook a foie gras in a terrine using sous vide.
And yes I'll repeat those requests often. ;)

I remember when I was a young man, I went through a stage where I swore off vegetables. Everyone was like “that’s weird”. Then I was telling one family member about it. And he was like “you realize you’ll die a lot sooner, right?”. That perspective stuck. I have a balanced diet now.

@@reilysmith5187 Please, educate me on how vegetables with all the nutrients aren’t a part of a healthy diet. Also, I’m assuming you’re a doctor or registered dietician?

@@ryangee2838 They say you can get all the nutrients from animal products, if you eat organs and marrow etc. I'm not sure though. I can't go carnivore diet anyway, I'd get sick of all the meat. I like my veggies too much, they bring such wonderful flavors.

@@MetalliApe You can get all your macro nutrients from animal products, but not all your micro nutrients, and meat consumption has been linked to a number of health issues. I mean just think about it for a second. Our bodies are the same as they were ten thousand years ago. Evolution hasn't moved as fast as our technology has. Meat was a rare luxury until very recently. The ideal human diet is probably something like mostly fruits, nuts, and vegetables with an occasional gorge of meat (I.E. a successful hunt). I'd bet money a very healthy diet would be to only eat meat every other weekend, but eat as much as you want.

@@ForeverMasterless How can inuits live then? Nothing grows there. They probably aren't very healthy, though. I agree with you on eating less meat. Also my gut feels healthier when I eat my vegetables. Thanks for the detailed take.
