- Todays video we are installing speed dawg shift knob adapter and shift knob! Just a quick installing video step by step removal and install video! Be sure to like, subscribe and share! Thanks! (Speed dawg recommends for the knob not to be screwed all the way down and to use the jam nut provided on the bottom of the knob....I wanted mine to sit as low as I could so in this install I didn’t use the jam nut)

Great video. I went with the red pearl knob white inlay. One thing I like about this mod is that is is easy to change to suit different color styles and themes.
I swear something on their website said not to tighten the knob all the way down into the adaptor or you can damage the knob. I wasn't sure how TF you'd lock the knob on unless you used a jam nut under it but that didn't make sense. It would look like shit. Thanks for the vid. Simple enough install. After 5 weeks They sent me a email that my custom order is done and shipped. I love that they'll make you a one of a kind knob .
Okay so apparently my shift knob has been sitting in my mail box for a day. Arrived on the 24th. Just installed. WOW!!! Black marble with white Racing stripes and the SCAT PACK bee. Freaking amazing!
Anyway. The instructions had in big red CAPS on the first line. Do not screw knob all the way down. Use a jam nut. Only thread half way onto adaptor. I thought this would look bad but the nut they gave me is so thin you cant see it under the knob.
They even had it in CAPS and red lettering a 2nd time a few lines down. They really tried to drill that home lol. Thanks for the video man. Made the install smoother
Yea I was willing to risk it to get the look I wanted lol, wanted it to sit as low as I could get it. I made sure not to crank down on it so the insert wouldn’t break free. But I’m with you, when I saw the jam nut I didn’t think it would look the best.
@@speedfreaksperformance i just wish i got red now like you lol. I'm also going with the red and black theme. I was afraid red wouldn't stand out on the black. And thought white and black was a safe bet.. Oh well. Shit. Not waiting another 5 weeks.
Anthony Intelisano white and black is always a safe bet, classic. I honestly thought the same thing, didn’t want the red to be “off”. But it’s spot on, and the font just completes it.
When anyone dies this wirh stock shifter to not waste time buy the adapter you’ll need it but speed Dawg must have noticed bc they literally delivered the adapter ordered sat got it Monday no kidding. I went with the red rt all black letters etc awesome looking knob matches my red start button plus the car is octane red love it. Get it guys you’ll be happy
Great video!! Can't believe I didn't see this before. Installing the knob on the stick first is definitely the way to go. Glad you like the adapter!

Looking at getting one of these for my 19 Charger RT. Gotta go through Barton to get the adapter for the automatic to even get this done.
I don't even have a manual shifter in my 2020 RT but this would be the first thing I would do if I did!

1.5 or 16mm
Would that knob fit on the original stick?
It’s like together have to get the adapter 45 bucks and makes it truly shorter for faster shifts
What thread size did you select when you ordered the knob?
16mm x 1.50
I did this mod on my challenger r/t, but I used a hurst setup, which was, strangely enough, less expensive than the speed dawg components. It might pay to shop a bit. The shorter shifter adapter and larger diameter ball is a 100% improvement over the stock shifter knob, and I can now use generic shifter knobs or T-handles. Nice.
