As frequent Royal Caribbean guests, we often find ourselves on Royals private Island of Coco Cay, marketed as the Perfect Day at Coco Cay. Today we are signed up for a new Royal Caribbean CocoCay Excursion, The Swimming Pigs Tour. This tour takes guests of CocoCay on a quick 15 minute speed boat ride to a neighboring island called Treasure Island to Swim with pigs. The Swimming Pigs tour has mixed reviews online, so we wanted to see and review this unique Royal Caribbean excursion for ourselves. This is a great option when looking for something to do on Coco cay. Coco cay Bahahmas has a lot of great shore excursions, This is what Royal Caribbean had to say about Swimming Pig Tour Perfect Day Cococay, Bahamas. This is one or Royal Caribbeans best shore excursion
Swimming Pigs excursion on Treasure Island. First, you will ride in a boat across bright blue waters and enjoy a wide open ocean scenery as you breathe in the fresh salty air. You’ll arrive on a white sandy shoreline, where you’ll be greeted by a friendly group of pigs who are as excited you are here as we are! After a brief introduction to “pig life” you’ll then be led into the shallow beach water to observe the feeding of the pigs by our professionally trained staff. A photographer will be on site to capture your special moments with photos that will be available for purchase. Enjoy the nearby observation deck for sweeping views of the ocean, or rest and just enjoy the experience. We are so excited you have chosen to visit Treasure Island and will work hard to ensure your tour with us is memorable!
    Highlights

Berry Islands: Here's your chance to get up-close with swimming pigs to witness a controlled supervised staff feeding.
Beach views: Chill out on a beachfront observation deck.

    Aqua shoes are recommended.
We were disappointed with not being able to take our own pictures of the swim but found there to be plenty of photo oppertunites after the pig swim tour was done. The pigs are suprisingly great swimmers, mostly because they are highly motivated by food. It is a definetly a cruise ship excursion the way you wait in line, smile at the camera sort of thing. Its not a Wild, connect with nature kind of thing. It is a pre packaged excursion, but still unique and lots of fun. My boys loved holding all the baby pigs. And if you can avoid the floating bits of pig poo while you swim with them, you can't help but laugh at yourself swimming in warm Bahamas with these gentle giants.
Now in our short amount of time on Treasure Island, it appeared the pigs were happy and taken care of. We were told they have the entire island to live and are not put in pens. The island has plenty of thick shade for the pigs.
We would recomend bringing money with you. Treasure Island does not take your Sea Pass card. So if you want to buy a swim with pigs Tshirt or buy a drink from the bar, you are gonna need cash or credit card with you.

Holy cow! Pig Island sounds fun but I would just video. The girls would love this place. They are super friendly. Can’t believe how close they were. I’m a sucker for these type of events. Holy cow, Markos voice is getting so much lower.

When did this Cococay excursion pop up on the Royal Caribbean app to book? Only Nassau swim with pigs is showing on the app

I don’t know why this excursion does that!!! It goes up on the app closer to the sail date. I feel like I had to check it everyday…ugh

Before. However, this excursion is not on the list of excursions until close to the sail date. I’m not sure why they do that. You just have to keep checking.

Hiya what is the price we're expecting to pay for this excersion and how long will you get to stay on pig's island? We are travelling in 11 months so this excersion is not out yet but there is no time limit to start getting excited and planning 🙈
    Thanks for the video x

The excursion is about 3 hrs. So you still have time to enjoy Coco Cay. I should have included price in the video, because now I don’t remember. But it was fair and comparable to other excursions. I hope you have the greatest trip and make lots of wonderful memories!

DO NOT GO SWIMMING WITH THE PIGS THERE THINKING THERE IS NO CONSEQUENCES
My wife and I went swimming with the pigs on Valentine’s Day 2024 in Nassau. 2 days later she got a small bump on her thighs. She started throwing up everything she ate and drank. We went to a local clinic that juiced her up with antibiotics and sent us home. Luckily we returned to Boston the next day and went to clinic in Dedham. They did blood work and saw she had a blood infection. Then was transferred to Faulkner, then transferred again to then bigger hospital @ BWH. She was sent to surgery and things went south. There she was induced in coma because her white blood cells kept going up and they couldn’t find the right antibiotics to treat her with. She was in intensive care for 4 days on 14 different I.V.
and made it thank GOD. DO NOT GO THERE, IT MIGHT BECOME A BADDD EXPERIENCE.
