Spend a perfect day at Cococay, an unforgettable destination on a Royal Caribbean Cruise! Follow these tips to make the most of your day on the island!
DO NOT set your plate of food down on a table and look away. Do not leave your food unattended. The birds are very aggressive and your lunch will be their lunch in seconds!
@@kaydickey9239 Reminds me of a racoon I met on a camping trip. I left a bag of unopened chips to get some napkins. When I looked back, the bag was heading into the woods at a rapid pace.
I would think that would bring with it a whole raft of issues for the staff. I think the biggest issue would be supervising guests in and around the water. This would be especially hard given many adults would have been drinking on the island all day.
Thank u very informative ivf been on many cruise i think 7 planong my 8 and and ive beenvon 4 royal and gonna be 5 and im gonna finally going to the private island next year im excited
If you bring your own snorkel gear, you can get a dive mask with prescription lenses so you can see clearly while diving. I just bring my mask and snorkel (more sanitary), but get fins at the beach.
I chose my upcoming cruise just because it went to Coco cay. I loved it that much my first time going. It's so relaxing, the water is crystal clear, and there's no scammers trying to hound you to pay to rent chairs and umbrellas
Enjoyed you video! Put that photo spot and funnel cake on the to-do list for our first cruise later this summer on Freedom. As a fellow parent with kids with a big age-range (my oldest is 14 and my youngest is 2, with two others in between), in a future video I'd love to hear some tips you've picked up from your time cruising with kids of substantially different ages. Bonus points if you have any ideas about how to get your teenage daughter fired up to cruise when she is firmly in the teen phase of being too cool to want to hang out with her younger siblings!
14 is a weird in between age. For us we were able to force our daughter to be social at that age and meet other people her age on the ship. Once she did that and had a friend her age she enjoyed it much more and would spend time with her.
love the extended stay idea! i think what rc should think of is maybe adding more time on cococay for a price?? i would definetely be open to spending for that!!
I wonder if they don't stay into the night because of water safety. Making sure that everyone is out of the water by sunset would be quite the job. Just an idea ...
Chicken sandwich - you can ask for them to make it into a chicken parm sandwich by asking for them to add the cheese stick and marinara sauce to it And Have them add chocolate and caramel to the funnel cakes !!
They do have excursions that would cost extra. Jet skis, and paddle boards for example would cost extra. However there is plenty to do on the island that should keep you entertained.
It's all about money, R.C. will stop at a destination for a short time so they can get the ship back to port (6:00 AM) & load up another cruise & out at 5:00 PM (same day).
The price of the water park is a scandal to be honest. Currently showing for $210 on their website. In contrast the best water park on the planet (Siam Park in Tenerife) is only $45 and even less for kids at $32. And if you arrive on a day when another ship has got there before you then the crowds will mean that for your $210 you will see you spend most of your day standing in the hour long queues.
90% of the activities on Cococay are included for free. The additional cost incurred would be if you wanted to visit the water park, or participate in excursions.
@@Cruiseitall That, and the 'Beach Club'. Or the cabana's. Or the balloon ride. Actually, there can be a lot of charges for some island features. Still, it ain't hard to pay nothing and still have a great time.
I’ve never purchased it myself to be able to provide a definitive answer one way or the other. I will say that I have never felt like I was missing out on anything by not visiting the water park, and that has to do with how much you can do and see on the island for free.
Is it pronounced "key" or "kay". I might be wrong but Castaway Cay (Disney's Island) is pronounced "key" and so is Princess Cays. Edit: confirmed, it's pronounced Coco "Key".
Yea I know. I’ve watched Royal Caribbean Blog and he pronounces it Key. Majority of other cruise videos and customers pronounce it Cay so I went with that, kind of like the Mandela effect.
Yes and no. While pronouncing it as “key” is correct, RC has embraced the fact that most people will pronounce it phonetically, thus the slogan “perfect day at Coco Cay.”

😂
🤣😂🤣
Good to know.
Of course, any bird that tries for my food will just end up as part of my lunch.
I gave my 14 year old son that warning and he ignored me. He was mad when he looked back and the birds were saying thank you!😅😅😅

Totally agree to extending departure time to ten in the evening. Give us more time on Coco Cay🙏
If they didn't have a schedule to keep in order to get you back home on time, they might.

@@npatnz384 MSC stays overnight at their private island so...
YES! Stay longer at coco cay!!! 4pm is way too early to leave.
Thank you for sharing! Good tips! We'll be there in April!
Later departure from CoCo Cay is a great idea! ❤
Was there last year on the NurseCon Inaugural cruise, had a blast! Going back next Tuesday with the family! CoCo Beach Club is the best!
This was a great video! Thanks for the information 😊
This is the most informative video I've seen on Cococay. You need the battery pack since you use your phone to take photos!
My favorite is the funnel cake!
Thank u very informative ivf been on many cruise i think 7 planong my 8 and and ive beenvon 4 royal and gonna be 5 and im gonna finally going to the private island next year im excited
Great hints and tips! We will definitely check out the funnel cake and chicken burger when we visit Coco cay one day. New subscriber here 😊

MSC even does overnights so you have two days on the island.

Nice video.
I will keep the funnel cakes in mind.
So happy this video is recent w info bc going next week !!
☺️☺️☺️
So how was your trip?
Coco cay seems like a lot of fun
Oh it is! I’m blown away each time I’ve gone.
Really good video!!
Great video
Like the idea to extend the day at coco cay.
Thanks. I really think it’s a wasted opportunity
I think Royal Caribbean has to balance what the customers will spend on the island versus time lost getting the next load of customers on board.
I’m excited to experience this island in December sailing 🎉
Which ship are you sailing off of?
Enjoyed your video. We just spent a few hours on Coco Cay. Enjoyed the beaches. If you have kids it’s probably a lot more fun.
Great video! Going on RC next week. What camera are you using??
This was on my personal iPhone. If I grow large enough I would invest in a dedicated camera
Make sure to return your towels if not you may be charged a fee.
Are the funnel cakes an extra charge?

Is the food included on the island? Any up charges?
Yes the food is included on the island!
Do we have to spend money on excursions at CocoCay or can we just enjoy the island without spending?
They do have excursions that would cost extra. Jet skis, and paddle boards for example would cost extra.
However there is plenty to do on the island that should keep you entertained.
It's all about money, R.C. will stop at a destination for a short time so they can get the ship back to port (6:00 AM) & load up another cruise & out at 5:00 PM (same day).
Is the food on the island covered with the cost of the cruise
for the most part, yes.

Would you suggest paying for the water park?
I’ve never purchased it myself to be able to provide a definitive answer one way or the other.

Ask them.
@@bugwar5545 Also ask the kids if they have the $210 it costs for a ticket. 😂
If you can afford to take your kids on a trip with you, you ain't poor.
In fact, if YOU can afford a cruise, you ain't poor.
which food is included and not included? I want to make sure im not gonna be charged extra.
The buffet as well as the snack shack food is included. The only time you would be charged for food is at Captain Jacks bar/food area.
Should you bring your own towels?..
They should build a little casino on the island. And then make It overnight availability. Would be so amazing
Is it pronounced "key" or "kay". I might be wrong but Castaway Cay (Disney's Island) is pronounced "key" and so is Princess Cays. Edit: confirmed, it's pronounced Coco "Key".
Yep.
And it is 'port' and 'starboard', not 'left' and 'right'. There are 'decks', not 'floors'.
'Cruise Nazis' - bless their little hearts.
Royal employees pronounce it “CAY” not key
Matt says to put mozzarella sticks on your chicken sandwich.
Okaay.
Not trying to be a jerk here, but it is pronounced Coco "key"

I vote Cay as well. It makes the rhyme work better, Perfect Day at CocoCAY. otherwise it's Perfect Day at CocoKEY. That doesn't work at all...
Can't wait for you to proclaim what 'left' and 'right', 'room' and 'floor' are called on a ship.
@@bugwar5545 Would it bother you if I knew all of those...'cause that would be reason enough for me... 😉
All they did was monetize the island. This place is mostly chaos ..especially the pool.
And despite your review, most people are having fun. Go figure.
I didn’t say people weren’t having fun.

@@bugwar5545 I enjoyed it less than the old setup... I had fun with family but I did not care for the changes they made to t he Island.
