There was a time the heavyweight division was the face of boxing. It ain't no more! These guys are great ambassadors of the sport. When they fight, it's a proper battle.
It hasn't been since Lennox Lewis retired. Its always been lightweight to welterweight since mayweather and Oscar dela hoya fight

Usyk just fought Joshua and the rematch is pending and despite feigning retirement, Fury will likely get a boatload of money for fighting the winner. That's the most exciting division in boxing right now along with 135. Bottom line is, the lighter weights are not better than they've ever been as you proclaimed. There was an era where guys named Leonard, Hagler, Hearns and Duran all fought. Canelo is not the greatest Mexican, there was a dude named Chavez, and no Floyd is not the best defensive fighter ever. There was a guy named Pernell Whitaker.

An example of Haneyâs speed. The commentator didnât see that it was actually the left hook that cause JoJo to stagger a little, not the body shot.
The setup was beautiful. The shot to the body was supposed to lower his guard and it worked as that left hook landed and sent a shock through Diaz.

Now that I look back at this fight, Diaz did not hurt Haney. Devin got hit by big shots but that doesnât mean he was hurt so everyoneâs statement about him having no chin is so invalid.

Gotta appreciate how Devin Haney fights from off the ropes like that. Heâs not a knockout artist but he always out boxes his opponents and the kid has a strong chin.

I believe Jojo had the right strategy's but should've turned up the heat around 7 instead of round 10-12. He also didn't have to staying power and conditioning to finish haney

I'm thinking that jeep has a chin that hasn't really really been tested. So I'm kind of thinking the same way you guys are. After Jorge Linares, I noticed that Devin Haney seems to have a bit of a suspect chin. Still think people are sleeping on lomachenko. I guess we will see what happens with his December 11th fight. If Loma wins that fight then the rest of the lightweight division cannot continue to just ignore him. Lomachenko is already in the top 10 pound-for-pound. People think he was all hype but he lost a fight to Lopez with a torn rotator cuff, which he had surgery on within 36 hours of the end of the fight. You notice lomachenko is staying very quiet and just doing his thing but if he wins on December 11th, then lomachenko will be a force that people can't ignore again. If he has a remarkable knockout on December 11th, there's little weight off her lightweights can continue to ignore him other than just saying they're dodging him which I believe they're doing already. How can you just completely ignore of man who is in the top 10 pound-for-pound when other people at lightweight are not in the top 10? On the 11th of December if lomachenko happens to win the fight in remarkable fashion, she will definitely be in the top three or four pound-for-pound. You guys can scoff and laugh now but if this happens don't be surprised

Haney is the perfect example that you can be a defensive skill fighter and you doesn't need to run away from the fight. He is not a hard hitter but he is physically very strong and that could be a frustrating night for a KO boxer.âïž
Problem about 80% of the time a defensive fighter is called a runner when they arent even running most of the time. Ppl called Floyd and Ali runners when Floyds signature defense is the shoulder roll, Ali used the rope-a-dope late in his career. You cant run doing those.
Haney is 23 and already world class, people give him stick but it's like they don't know he's only a baby in the sport. He will go right to the top and shut those doubters up.

Haney didnât look that great in this fight. Doesnât have a killer instinct. Definitely can be beat by the stronger fighters in the division.
Haney is a pure boxer and Diaz came with the wrestling tactics which through Haney off and made the fight a lot closer than it should have. If you put Shakur in Devin's body tonight, Shakur would've made this a lopsided fight and most likely would've stopped Diaz.
Loma & Kambosos would beat Haney.

He's not ready yet, George is too fast, has great combo n got punching power as well so he's got an upper hand on this kid... idk what Haney has to do to stand a chance.
