    Has anyone seen my jaw? Because it just dropped and I can't find it anywhere.
    Unbelievable how this tool continues to get better and better.
    Thanks Shaper Team....

    Amazing!
    I'm sure I'm the 10,000th person to suggest this but:
    What about adding a trace feature? Drop the upside down cutter 'into a hole'/'around an object', then pressing lightly against the shape, trace it into memory. Once done, select if you were tracing inside/outside the shape which offsets the pattern the radius of the shaft (it traces on the center point). Then you could copy that shape to other places, clean it up in the machine or export to a place to modify it, etc.

    8 minutes in, this is already the biggest win I've ever seen in software development.

    You guys are the best. I love and appreciate the continuous innovation. Plus, I was just notified that my Workstation is on the way, hell yeah.

    This tool has been the best money I've spent along with my sawstop. The customer support is amazing. Mine went down during the start of Covid, brushes worn out. They were closed, but still bent over backwards, went and opened up and sent me a new spindle motor. The software is lightyears beyond the original. How a company should be run.

      Brushes worn out???? Thought festool stuff was good and would last. Any particular reason why the brushes gave in so soon?

      @@leadhillsjoinery8135 I've had mine since the kickstarter, so what 4 years? It gets run HARD. It replaced a Bosch 1613 I used with jigs. I do flatpacks for speaker kits. Driver cutouts, jack plate and handle cutouts, flush driver cuts, all in 1/2 and 3/4 russian birch. Shaper asked me to connect so they could download the data from my tool to see the run time statistics. I asked to see it too, but haven't heard back.

      Fun fact, the motor is a stock festool router motor. They will accept festool brushes

    I've never had a tool that got better after I bought it until sharper. This is a great update. Thank you.

    You just made my day! The only things that drove me nuts with the origin was only being able to probe the left side of my work piece and not being able to name my work spaces.

    How easy is it to cut dovetails, mortise and tenons, box joints. Is there a big learning curve

    • @Shapertools
      @Shapertools  Před 4 lety

      Hi Thomas,
      For box joints there's an on-tool extension that will draw your cut for you. Mortise and tenon is similarly simple. Dovetails can be tricky because they require more thought into the placement of the cut path, and cutting with a dovetail bit can risk your workpiece if you accidentally for a retraction. It can be done but takes more experience!

    • @totallynotabot151
      @totallynotabot151 Před 4 lety +1

      Dovetail cutters are unfortunately not supported because the machine has a safety feature where it might pull up the spindle at a moment's notice. I have asked Shaper if there is a way to disable this to make dovetail cutting safer but they said no. You could route them sideways but then need to chisel out the corners manually. Shaper comes with software for automatic box joint placement. Mortise & tenon joints are easy.
