Even if on a budget the ABBA superbike stand is much better than paddock stands, can get a front lift kit or use a bike jack under the engine as I did to lower the engine to get the cylinder head off last year, or to hold the front up for getting the front wheel/forks off.
Been wanted one for ages, but whoever does the importing to Australia takes the fucking piss & doubles the prices lol. Already got my plan for the next time I’m in the UK - buy stand, ship back myself by sea with a bunch of other stuff I can’t get in Aus, should still save a heap even if I have to pay UK and Aus tax.

I bought a caliper from Australia (six pot Tockico from a 2006 bandit 1200, for my Y2k ZX9r), great condition as expected, and even with high delivery costs it still cost about the same as buying one here with free postage, wasnt any good ones available here at the time.

You should really thread lock disc bolts as they do from factory, new bolts come with red thread lock already applied usually too, I am happy using blue medium strength thread lock, caliper mounting bolts are not usually thread locked though. I like to more so after buying my bike a few years back that was recommissioned so had freshly painted wheels with new bearings, brake discs and pads etc, after a fair bit of riding while doing some general maintenance I found that my rear discs bolts were all lose, probably due to the heat cycles and no thread lock on them.
Lovely ! I had a 2016 R1M and put a Brembo RCS Corsa-Corta mc with Brembo HPK discs and EBC GP-FAX pads that setup made a massive difference ! Money well spent 😀👍

If you have not tried before, throw a set of Carbon Lorraine break pads.. no harsh initial bite.. had the same master cylinder on my R1 and work amazing

The best thing to use removing stickers etc like that without damaging the surface is old credit cards.
I have a couple of old cards in my toolbox for removing tough stuff like that stuck to things

Lines are on the inside for a dirt bike just to protect them. You tend to drop the bike more . Just a precaution measure

You need a rcs17 if you want more lever travel. Not a 19. A bigger diameter MC needs less travel to move the same amount of brake fluid. In fact the original MC is a 17 as well I believe

I had a shop mess up my brakes when they didn’t evenly torque the bolts that held the discs on.

when working alone i use spit as loob been a carmechanic for 12 years was a first mechanic now i do other mechanic work but yes we use spit
Love this R1 project. MX bikes run brake lines on the inside of the fork tube to protect from getting caught out not just by your foot but also by debris and if you are off road trees, rocks, etc...like brush guards on the bars not only project your hands from roost but levers from shrubs, etc...almost went over the bars once when a branch decided I needed to slow down.
Don't whatever you do forget to tighten up the spatula bobbins
Be interesting to see the difference in cost to what you spend versus various packges of support/upgrades offered by Yamaha themselves, and outside team support option. A results per pound rating, and a grins per quid rating, maybe.?😊

17mm master if you’re after more lever travel and modulation?
inside for mx so nothing snags the line, road race bike outside and two single lines so if high speed damage occurs from mudguard exploding you still have brakes.
