    I understand that we are tricking the brain to perceive hearing 10Hz, but I have a question. Wouldn't it be equally (of not more) potent to play actual 10Hz regardless of the lack of ability to hear it? Do we actually need to hear a sound for our brain to be influenced by a frequency or is the hearing of a sound more of a placebo effect?

      I think each ear hears independently to some extent, so the brain syncs to the difference of each frequency. Stereo 10hz would cancel itself out, and mono wouldn't produce the effect. However, isochronic tones affect the brain differently than binaural beats and can sort of do what you are talking about.. but it requires pulses of sound instead of constant frequencies.

      if you don’t hear it, it doesn’t get responded to by the brain. our ears are not capable of hearing 10hz; so using the appropriately phase-shifted binaural causes the brain to ‘create’ the perception.

      10hz is not in the human hearing range so most speakers, headphones, audio encoders and digital to analog converters ignore anything below 20hz completely for sake of efficiency so if you try to play an actual 10hz tone then the equipment you're using to play it wont even be able to do that.

      No, because of the 10hz difference, your brain hears a pulsing sound that induces hemi-sync.

    wait- how can i hear it? being human cannot hear under 20hz

    • @bradentraub
      @bradentraub Před rokem +3

      If one ear hears 100hz and the other war hears 110hz, the our Brian splits the difference and we end up hearing 10hz.

      @@bradentraub so basically we need to wear earphones to hear it then?

    • @bradentraub
      @bradentraub Před rokem +5

      @@anjolesaydworthethecrafty Absolutely - binaural beats require stereo headphones/earbuds because it plays a different sound in each ear. The human ear can't really hear anything below about 20hz, but we can trick our brain into "hearing" lower frequencies by playing two DIFFERENT frequencies in each ear, and our brain kind of splits the difference.

      It's not the 10hz range or frequency itself but is a 10hz apart from each other supposedly to synchronize the 2 sides of thr brains hemespheres by having 1 be 100hz and the other being 110hz. Hope that helps. Lol i should a read replies before posting lmao didn't know everyone already said it
      But yeah 100hz - 110hz both arr audible and above the 20hz range lol. I learned a lot about frequency in high scooll about ham radio extra class thr highest one could achieve back then now i think they only have technician and general class i had to take all 3 to get mine lol. But the net kinda ruined almost every reason to use it lol but idk what they've been able to do mixing the 2 now maybe they find a way to send packets a lot faster hopefully than dial up was lol but that'd be like 25 some yrs ago now lol

      you feel it more than you hear it... but since you dont use an actual bodily sensor (i.e. your ears) to hear it... your brain can create some representation of what it would sound like in your head.
