  • Join me today to learn how to make milk kefir. We will start by unboxing kefir grains and then rehydrating kefir grains to make a fermented dairy drink that is loaded with probiotics. Kefir probiotics are so good for your gut health. You can add kefir to your kids smoothies and they will never even know it is there!
    These are the grains that I used to make my milk kefir.www.azurestandard.com/shop/pr...

    Eat your grains too. Some people even blend the excess grains into smoothies and stuff too if the grains are too strong for your taste to eat by themselves. You can throw like one cluser in a smoothie and keep your grains from getting out of hand.

    Very helpful! We all probably need to take breaks from making kefir from time to time, and it's good to know the correct process for re-vitalizing them.

    A lot of people say to rinse your grains between with either milk or unchlorinated water which is supposed to help the kefir not be sour and then do a second ferment without the grains in the fridge to make the kefir taste more sweet.

    I have been drinking kefir for about a year and have never felt better. I froze some grains for a couple days then dehydrated them. Now I am re hydrating. Hence you!!

    Before changing the milk, can I use milk straight from the fridge or should I let it get to room temperature first?. My first activated kefir grains died because
    1. I kept it with my kombucha.
    2. I was absent few days so kept the jar in the fridge.
    3. I mixed cream and milk sometimes
    Thank you for your video, I will follow your tutorial

    I am new to kefir but my grains aren't swelling.... I did as the instructions said to and here I am on day 3 with still dry kefir grains... is it something I did or is it possible that my grains are bad? I'm a little disappointed....

    I bought milk kefir grains that came in a little glass jar with milk and grains. Do you sell the grains?
    I don't think I want the dehydrated grains though.

      @RamblingRoseFarmhouse  Před 3 lety +1

      I bought dehydrated grains - it took three or four days but I get _amazing_ Kefir! Thick, jelly-like Kefir and then after I've strained the grains out I put in the stick blender and it makes the Kefir silky smooth with a little fizz.

    is the milk in room temperature?

    • @gjewell99
      @gjewell99 Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, the culturing is done at room temp. Then, put it in the fridge when it's done culturing.

    Why do you throw away the milk from the two starters? Could they not be drunk or used somewhere else? I'm asking this because I don't like seeing anything wasted.
