    Less weight, less bulk, less noise. Seems great!

    I made some of these a few weeks ago. try setting the prusik knot where you can use it as a truckers hitch to pull the rope tight. run the rope around the versa button, back through the prusik knot loop, pull tight, then back to the stick and tie off how you normally do.

      @@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I'll try and get video. I can at least take a photo. From what testing I've done with the method, it works great for when you need to get the stick extra tight in some situations.

      Yes. 1/8 main line and a 7/64 prusik knot.

    @ericgrant8783 Před 2 lety

    Nice video, there is another option for it however. You could use the Persak knot as an attachment point for a truckers hitch. That would be more secure yet. This method will produce almost no sag at all.

    How durable is this vs a standard strap lwcg sends with the sticks and stand? How long will it last?

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors
      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors  Před 11 měsíci +1

      They are very durable. I ran the same set for two seasons, and they are still in good shape.
      I recently picked up some beast sticks this year, so I purchased a fresh set, but if it weren't for the new sticks, I would rerun them with no problem.

      @@MichiganAmBushOutdoors do you run one for your stand as well? I’m running the .75 thinking on trying it out for that as well.

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors
      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors  Před 11 měsíci +1

      I know a lot of people do, but I do not. I feel safer with the cam buckle. The sticks don't see the same load as the stand because you don't cam them.

  • @the_atomic_punk487
    @the_atomic_punk487 Před rokem +1

    For nesting the sticks could you just wrap the rope around the sticks, will the sticks still nest tightly together? I have the same sticks as you and I wrap the straps and it works fine. Thanks.

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors
      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors  Před rokem

      Yeah. I wrap the ropes around the stick and attach them to the stand with J-hooks.

    Will that prusik knot unravel on you at in inopportune time, like when you’re pulling it out of your pack in the dark?

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors
      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors  Před 3 lety +1

      I guess it's possible but I roll the rope up and slide the prusik knot over it to keep it neat and together.

    • @the_atomic_punk487
      @the_atomic_punk487 Před 3 lety +2

      @@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I’m guessing you could also wrap it around each stick and use the prusik knot as a tag end that you hook onto a step.

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors
      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors  Před 3 lety +1

      Absolutely. They only reason I don't is because the LWGC minis lay flush to the stand so it would prevent me from attaching the sticks

  • @marks101885
    @marks101885 Před 3 lety +1

    Do you think the USA or the XL would be solid enough for a Mission platform with just the prusik and not doubling it up?
    Right now I'm running daisy chains on my sticks but I didn't like the daisy chain on my platform.

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors
      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors  Před 3 lety

      Get the USA XL. That’s was designed for platforms and stands.
      It has a working load of 500lbs and if you use the second attachment method I showed, it would be rock solid.

    I bought 6 of these. They look great. Do you feel safe using the first method? My thinking was using these on all my sticks and my seeker platform.

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors
      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors  Před 2 lety +1

      You can get them pretty tight with the first method, but I did another video addressing the length issue on the second method. In the new video, I show how I ran my sticks all year, and that method is what I would recommend.
      For my stand, I still use cam buckles so i can’t say for sure.
