I totally agree with you Roger. I've used a George to shampoo sofas, car interiors etc and it is probably the best machine for that job . As you say in carpet shampoo mode it does not perform that well. With the optonal Airo brush it also performs reasonably well as a regular dry vacuum .

Just got a George myself, 1995 red one,very versatile cleaner although the jets are all lime-scaled so Im having to descale them,besides that,its a lovely vac.Leaves the carpets dryer than my 121 and 6121 ever did.

I bought the Numatic 'new style carpet head' for my George.I am impressed ! I think it was designed for the newer (Less powerful cos of the new EU regulations) Henry . Put it on ( Powerful) George and he lifts the carpet off the floor! 3:44 Yes I agree the "Fishtail" thingy for carpet washing is abysmal . As I have said before I adapted a Vax Spinscrub to fit him and its way better.

The floor tool that has a metal base plate has the parking bracket molded on to the head the george that had a broken part that had a clip on the head for the parking bracket.

Hey, I only just came across this channel as I was looking at getting the George for washing our carpets. I hadn’t even thought about the agitation side of things. Can you use an upright for cleaning car seats too? Is there an all round option you would recommend if not the George?

I think it should fit as George is the same diameter as Harry, but taller.

Question, why on an only dry vacuum you use a bag and then drop the filter on top then the lid, to stop dust entering the motor and from blowing out of the vents back into the room,
But on this wet and dry when using it dry there is no dust filter,?
The dry filter is the first thing I removed from the box. When used in dry mode you put in the bag then the dry filter on top before placing the motor unit back.

Hello there , hoover side of it is it bag-less or bagged,So if it is bagged can i empty it when its full or like an ordinary ones i have to purchase new bags and replace it with the new ones all the times, Cheers
It’s bagged, but the bags are large, relatively cheap and shouldn’t need replacing that often.

The cleaner is available from Argos, but if you shop around online you can get it cheaper. The bags are larger than Henry bags and are widely available online from Amazon and many other retailers that stock Numatic vacuums.

I have a George. But you are right, the lack of agitation gives worse results than uprights. Didn't Vax do an air powered agitator? - Wonder if Numatic will release something similar. Or a generic 32mm one i suppose.

Over here in America for the price of a Henry we can buy a Miele dynamic u1/s7 for like 15 dollars more so I honestly don't see the point of them considering the Miele will clean far better than a Henry 😃
This is a George, not a Henry. No Miele can wash carpets, upholstery and scrub hard floors.
