  • What South Fremantle Power Station looks like today.
    Years of driving past this place, like thousands of other West Australians, wondering what it was like inside. Sure we’ve all seen photos but to see it in a video form gives it a different feel.
    A place that probably hasn’t changed for a very long time. It seems like a foreign lifetime to me when this was an active site. Now forged in long ago history.

    The South Fremantle Power Station is a former oil- and coal-fired power station located in North Coogee, Western Australia. The now disused building is listed on the Western Australian State Register of Heritage Places. Construction began in January 1946 and began to operate five years later, until 1985 (four years after the East Perth Power Station closed).
