    To get the angle icon to show up (7:45), I had to draw a new line that followed the edge on the left box. I then selected that line and the line going to the outer circle. The angle showed up and now I could change it to 45deg. After that, I deleted the new line.

    To get the angle icon to show up (7:45), you have to have the two lines on the same sketche. The reason why you can't see the angle icon and modify it it's because the line from the orange rectangle is in sketch 1 and the second line is in sketch 2. You can select the sketch 1 and redraw the second line to have both line in the same sktech and you should be able to see and change the angle easily.

    Another great tutorial, but I'm definitely seeing some differences on my iPad. Perhaps it's the newer version of Shapr I'm using, or the iPad interface, but after extruding an object, you can't select the face like you show. I have to hide the sketch item first, otherwise, I end up selecting the wrong stuff, with selecting just the face being impossible. Additionally, my sketch faces seem to be left behind when I rotate or align an object, which isn't what you show in your video. I don't know if I'm not selecting everything, or what, but my sketches have crud all over the place.

    • @boardoriginsproductions
      @boardoriginsproductions Před 6 měsíci

      Yeah, unfortunately I’m seeing this issue too. It’s a sketch-castrophe! My solution has been to just hide the sketch lines in the “Items” tab.
      For the issue with extruding, you might need to update your firmware. I was able to extrude my shapes even if the sketch lines overlapped them; just be careful to not select the boarder of a sketch line or it will not extrude the piece you want.

      Defining angles is still there in the current version of Shapr3D. I just verified. Tap both the intersecting lines and you'll get an angle value that you can change. If you have a lot of constraints set then they may limit you from adjusting the value

    I think shapr3d is well good.. I was looking through CAD software, But none of them really did what I WAS THINKING. Shapr, Does do what I was thinking but is also well hard to explain or look up!
    But with this program can you draw say a cabinet and then you drew some components, Can you then move components around? And plan how it'll be laid out. Make sure everything will fit and so on..

    • @PDOShapr3d
      @PDOShapr3d  Před rokem +1

      Unfortunately, at this time Shapr3D does not make it easy (or fast) to lay all your parts flat. For comparison, Fusion 360 has an 'auto arrange' feature that does it in a few clicks. Sharp3D forces you to use Move or Align to manually reposition them one by one.

      Thanks for watching, Rusty!
      Generally, use construction planes any time you need to create Sketches and don't have an existing 3D body to sketch from. Construction planes can also be used with select modeling features. I'll be covering some of the core workflows/uses cases of them in future lessons in this series.
      What project are you working on?

    • @rtkracht
      @rtkracht Před 2 lety

      I'm working on two woodworking projects. The first is a modification of a shop filter that Jay Bates did using SketchUp. I'm essentially redrawing it in Shapr3d using dimensions for my blower and the common filters I use in my house. The other is a design for a very deep shop cabinet that has lots of un-usable space. I'm trying to design something with vertical sliding drawers that will slide completely out giving me better use of the back 8 - 10" that are currently really hard to reach.

      I've printed this test hinge on my Ultimaker S5, Ender 3 Pro v2 (example - czcams.com/video/gzF2QgMh6nw/video.html), and Prusa i3 MK3S. .4 nozzle should be fine. Your layer height is what's critical here as the inner pin is quite small (unless you scale the design up). You'll want to use .1mm layer height. You may also want to slow down the speeds. Generally, when I do these test prints I use the default 'basic' settings in Cura.

      Hi Martin. Shapr3D is a direct modeler. That means it's not fully parametric (like Fusion 360 or some others), but instead allows you to select the face and update the dimensions or push/pull the face accordingly. There are some pros and cons to direct modeling. One of the challenges (or frustrations) can be something like this were you may want to quickly create a bunch of different sizes. I still use Fusion 360 for all those sorts of projects.

      Hi idkarts. I suspect that the line is not fully connected to the box/vertical line. You may have to zoom way in OR you can try to drag the end point and make sure it snaps to it. Using a constraint will also help ensure it stays connected to that area - as seen at approximately 7 mins.

    Nice one. Is there an easy way to extrude an object face as a separate body rather than just making the selected object thicker?

    • @PDOShapr3d
      @PDOShapr3d  Před 2 lety

      Hi Notan. Not that I'm aware of. You'll have to 'Project' edges of the geometry to have a new sketch for a separate body. You could also extrude the face and then split the body to result in two bodies (depending on the type of geometry).

    im having problems i followed each step and made sure the circle was locked and made the line tangent to it but when i try to change the degrees the circle changes shape and the line doesnt move idk what im doing wrong

      Hi Tyler, can you double check that the horizontal line (attached to the circle's center point) is locked as well? Additionally, having a horizontal contsraint on it will help. It sounds like something is missing a constraint as the circle should not be able to move at all.

      @@PDOShapr3d Hi, first I would like to thank you for the tutorial videos and putting your time for these. I have an issue also with the line and the circle part as enabling the "Tangent" lock it won't the line freely and get a message that "there is a restraint". I've tried multiple things and the only thing that kinda works is if i "disconnect" from the vertical line from the left side of the box but then it's not tangent and it doesn't move along side of the circle. Now I don't know if this issue to others or me, I'm using the Windows version which mentions that it's an early access

      I don't belive the Windows version should affect anything here. Would you be able to export as a Shapr3D file (.shapr) and send to me at support[at]productdesignonline.com ?
      It will likely be easier if I take a look at your file.

      @@PDOShapr3d My apologies for the delay to reply back... After playing a little bit more I was able to find why it was happening. When I was creating the line, as a starting point I was choosing (snapping it) to the middle of the side of the box (purple point) and when I was enabling the "Tangent" it was locking it on both sides. I needed to snap (create) the line on a random spot of the side of the box. That way I was able to move it freely and also be Tangent to the circle.

      Hi Juan. At this time, I'm only uploading English captions. Unfortunately, CZcams removed the ability for the community to add translations. I will look at the metrics and consider adding Spanish/other languages.

      Hi Mark, this whole series was recorded on the Mac version. The iPad version is very similar with the exception of some of the sketching you have to click and drag on the iPad versus tap. I believe the Shapr3D team is working on better unifying the cross-platforms.
