I’m going to review Laura Geller’s Baked Balance n Brighten Color Correcting Foundation. This powder foundation has an award winning formula that seamlessly blends into the skin providing a second skin-like finish. There are over 4 million sold, so this powder foundation formula is something worth noting. Why you’ll love this Laura Geller Baked foundation, it’s suited for mature skin, uneven complexion, fine lines and wrinkles. In this video, I focus on the application, the finish of the baked foundation and of course an all day wear test to see how it performed.

I get a solid medium coverage out of this and it lasts ALL day. I swirl the brush into the powder then stamp it on and then buff in a circular motion. Blends into my skin beautifully. I also use her baked blush which is gorgeous and lasts all day too. I’m 53 with dry skin.

I use this foundation about 80% of time, rest of time is liquid. I agree with everyone else, you need to buff it on in circles (not stamp). I use a powder concealer as well. And I use her primer ‘spackle’ with it & it stays on great & long wearing for me, which I love 💕

I found using a dry beauty blender to pat the foundation on works much better than a brush. The brush made it too sheer on my skin, although I do use a brush at the end to dust off any excess. I don’t know if this really does much but it feels like it does!

While I like the balancing Laura Geller, I prefer the standard one that is more matte. It doesn’t oxidize like the baked does, and with primer and setting spray it sits really well and wears all day. I also use a fluffier brush to be a lighter even coverage rather than patting in.

    Hi there,
I loved your video and I just wanted to share some tips. I wear this foundation and I love it … as others mentioned, it’s best if you buff it into your skin and then you can press or stipple it on the areas you need more coverage, also finishing with a setting spray really locks it in. Another tip… if you have the LG retractable brush, you can load some foundation on it, put the cover on it and you have the perfect travel touch up with you Incase you need it! But honestly I think using a primer and the setting spray will do the
    trick. Hope these tips help!
    Have a Great Day!🌻😎

I love Laura Geller. I've worn for years! I ended up having to mix two colors together to try to match my olive skin tone with gray and green undertones. All of the colors oxidize and turn a yellow or orange on my skin. Unfortunately, because it's my favorite! I've been in touch with the company several times to let them know they need a color that's for all of skin tones and does not oxidize. They have been responsive. Just hoping they come through! You look beautiful. Have a great day!

I have this foundation and I absolutely love it. I'm a hard and fast GG. I think you can stamp or buff. You get a different finish depending on the application method. On my skin, buffing leaves a more satin, almost soft glow skin-like finish, whereas stamping leaves a heavier, matte-ish but blurred finish. I think Laura's products are ❤!

Interesting. I was given this as a gift yeeeeears ago, but it never really worked for me and I eventually decluttered it. I’ve been seeing it around a lot lately and was thinking maybe I should give it another chance. But, your experience reminded me exactly why I didn’t like it in the first place. For me it was both too little and too much. It didn’t cover discolouration but it exaggerated my pores and skin texture. If I tried to build it up for more coverage, it got cakey. And then there was the oxidization. No thanks. I prefer a tinted moisturizer, targeted concealer and the scantest amount of translucent powder in the t-zone so my skin looks like skin.

I think it is buildable to medium coverage. It gives more coverage when applied with a beauty blender. However it does need a one time touch up in the day and it works better with a primer. I much prefer this LG powder foundation now that I’ve gotten older. The closer I get to 40, the more I notice my liquid foundations sink into lines I didn’t even know I had by the end of the day. I’m combo skin and I find powder just keeps looking better and better as the day goes on- no sinking into lines and looks like a liquid. It also layers so well with cream or powder products. The old rule of “no cream product on top of powder” just doesn’t apply with this one.

I wish there was a color that was more neutral in between the porcelain and light. I tap on the light and buff over with porcelain. Now the this foundation is very finicky with skincare and even finishing powders. The LG spackle primer is fantastic. Her baked blushes and Bronzer are fanatic. I looove LG

When you mentioned oxidisation, powder foundation ofted does oxidose, particularly when the moisturiser/oil on the skin melts the powder, which activates the pigment in the powder, so its not surprising. Also your own oils have acids in them, and the acids cause oxidisation.
The primer is clearly protecting the powder from the acids in the oils as it from as it acts as a barrier between the foundation and the sebum/oil.
The foundation looks great though. I would want to try it.

I wasn’t into powder foundation either until I tried the Infallible Foundation In A Powder from L’Oréal. You recommended it as a topper on one of your videos. I bought it and I was surprised how I liked it alone and it was long wearing too. I do switch back and forth between liquid and the powder foundation, depending on my mood. Traveling with the powder foundation is the best.

I’m so glad you did a review on this foundation! I just bought this recently. It feels light. Definitely a lighter coverage.

This is a great powder, you need to to buff not stamp..I’ve used this for years and it’s a wonderful foundation

I’m so sad because the lightest colour is too light and fair would be too dark and warm for me 😩 Wish she’d do more colours!

With her baked foundation, it’s a swirl and swipe/buff and not tap for coverage. It’s supposed to be a very quick application…at least it is for me, like 5 min 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve been wearing powder foundation for years now. I’m dying to try the Laura Geller one. Currently using Ester Lauder doublewear powder.

I like applying this with the Rose and Ben blush brush for faster fuller coverage. Also the Laura Geller brush is awesome to take for touch ups

This product is meant to be buffed into the skin. Also to pick it up, you swirl your brush to get all the color pigments. It's a little frustrating to watch a review on a product when it isn't used correctly.

Def think the application technique wasn’t how you’re intended to use it. It honestly looked great

I like to use a little of the LG Double Take powder foundation on my red areas of my face and hen go over that and everywhere else with the Balance and Brighten. I typically don’t use a primer. I feel like I can do a full face of makeup in about 10 minutes.

I’m curious on how you feel about it oxidizing? I’m considering buying but as soon as I hear the word orange I pause! 🤣

I love this foundation for days I don’t have a lot of time to do my makeup. I have hyperpigmentation and it evens it out nicely. Primer definitely helps longevity, and I spray afterwards with setting spray. It’s fast even coverage for errand days.

I tried it, but it makes my skin look dry. I'm much older than you. You might like it. Yes I'm using this as a powder to set my foundation and lightly.

Same 😢. I have Hispanic skin tone, and I bought the light color to use more as a setting or under eye brightener, and it is so orange on me 😒.

I use this & a buffing motion should be used rather than patting. Otherwise it’ll look patchy

  • @heatherhowe351
    @heatherhowe351 Před 8 měsíci

Swirl tap buff it in. I have found the one with spf oxidises and goes to orange ( I have fair skin- cool to neutral tone) but the one without spf is OK. A good handbag standby but doesn't always last all day.
