I fully agree this is the best online game, combining both serious and silly aspects of single player MGS and letting players experience it together (both friendlies and enemies)
The gameplay systems were well done, but what is more impressive imo is MGO's infrastructure. The built-in social features for a console game in that generation was absolutely unheard of. The various clan lobbies, training rooms, instructors/graduations, friends/BL system, lobbies with highly customizable criteria resulting in varied and long-lasting community game modes (lmfao G.G. prison rooms)...legendary.
I miss the laugh spams with the deep voice characters 😂😂 takes me back man
Awesome experience but you missed the small circle of players who automatically kick you they dont know you lol
Don't get me wrong, I love MGO2, but in retrospect, the sever lag, lag switchers, and glitchers ruined a lot of MGO2. Still one of my top 5 multiplayer games
It’s back in case you don’t know. Look up SaveMGO. It’s on ps3/pc with cross play, lots of fixes and new maps.
But yeah I agree. I’m an old vet and about to start playing again.
You thought that's bad try MGO3, it had cheaters every match being out of bounce
@@TotallySearch I wasnt a fan of MGO3. It felt neutered compared to MGO and 2
MGO 1 was ruined by the glitching but yeah the tick rate and lag was so bad in MGO2. I remember the lag where whenever you'd get knocked down to the ground from a grenade you'd teleport lol

As a former lvl 18-19 fox I salute you for posting this amazing game so I can see it once again tried playing save mgo and it’s such a small amount of people on hurted my heart tbh
I honestly regret getting into MGO2 so late in its life cycle, it seriously was one of my favorite multiplayer experiences and core reasons to own a PS3 back in the day.
Shoutout to all Zombie Room players who ganked the guy who had the zombie role lmao
While mgo2 can be fun at times my heart belongs to mgo3 as the movement and shooting is satisfying
I know it would never happen but if they ever made an MGS4 remake (a la RE4> RE4R) with a complimentary MGO2R I’d lap that up. Hell, I’d settle for a revival of this version

I remember playing this when it came out and I used to get quite a lot of kills while ADS. Don't you guys do it today?
I played countless hours of this game.
I would play prison. Play as the guards one round. Inmates the next.
Then I would play city.
Then I would play serious ranked rounds.
Play some of the tournaments.
Then I went back to messing around. No game had a better online imo. I just wish I would have not cared as much about using “cheap guns” like the DSR-1 or the RPG
I played the shit out of the jail rp, I was 12 when mgs4 came out so it was a lot for my tiny brain lol
