    The caramel candy apple recipe is:
    1 cup butter
    1 cup brown sugar (packed)
    1 cup regular granulated sugar
    1 cup sweetened condensed milk
    1 cup light corn syrup
    1 tsp vanilla
    pinch of salt
    ***SPECIAL NOTE: The apples must be good and cold before you dip them into the caramel in order for the caramel to stick. Now if you don't want to place your apples in the refrigerator, then you must clean your apples like candy apples by removing the wax in order for the caramel to stick.
    Stand at the stove and continuously stir the caramel. Stir the caramel until it reaches 240 degrees. You may place your caramel apples on wax paper or a silicone mat. If you only have parchment paper, just spread butter on the parchment paper so the caramel apples will not stick. Don't forget to hit that like, comment, and subscribe button if you have not already done so.
    You may clean your apples like regular candy apples if you so desire. If you've had issues with caramel apples in the past you can clean your apples that way and and use this caramel apple recipe. I know you can get bubbles on candy apples if the wax is not off the apples. I usually just rinse my apples off real good and dry them off for caramel candy apples and place them in the refrigerator overnight. It's up to you how you want to clean your apples.
    When the apples are good and cold, that caramel is going to attach itself to the apples. If the apples are not good and cold, the caramel slides off and/or bubbles also forms. If you get bubbles on your caramel apples, make sure you pop them right away with a new toothpick.

    Why is my mouth watering 🤤 Gonna have to give these a try. Your apples are so green. Do you just rinse the apples off and refrigerate or do you clean them another way (like to remove the wax). I love how they look. Very beautiful work 😍❤

    • @DIYQUEENDIVA
      @DIYQUEENDIVA  Před rokem +3

      Hi, Cassandra!
      With these I just rinsed them off, but your apples need to be very cold. So let your apples sit in the refrigerator a couple of hours to get good and cold. I think I let mine sit overnight. With people who have a hard time with caramel sticking to the apples you can clean your apples like candy apples.
      I use lemon juice, baking soda, and salt when I clean my apples to keep the apples green on the inside. Here's a series of my videos on how to clean your apples with the ingredients listed above, I hope this helps you: czcams.com/play/PLSve20__OpxHn2jrfGgn4H_zj7MSckuWR.html

    I just cleaned the apples with your cleaning method. I plan on dipping in your carmel and then chocolate tomorrow. Do I need to refrigerate the apples before dipping in carmel? Also, once dipped in carmel and chocolate, I won't be giving them out for 2 days. Should I refrigerate them in the meantime or leave on the counter? Thank you so much for taking the time to make all of your videos and share your knowledge with us!

    • @DIYQUEENDIVA
      @DIYQUEENDIVA  Před rokem

      You’re so welcome. Once you clean them there’s no need to refrigerate your apples because the caramel will stick since you’re stripping the wax off the apples. To answer the second question, now if you have the heat on go ahead and refrigerate after you dip them. If your house is cool like 65-70 for those two days then you can place them on your kitchen counter. If your house is not cool again refrigerate. I hope this helps you.

      @@DIYQUEENDIVA the caramel dipped 8 large apples beautifully. The shine is amazing. The taste is incredible.
      The first apple we ate set in minutes and the caramel came with every bite leaving beautiful teeth indentations, marking the place to bite next. I loved it all until it became so hard like the red candied apples. Even like that it tastes amazing but couldn’t add the nuts because it harden too fast and the refrigeration didn’t aid.
      I am definitely not discouraged for I will give it a second try.

      You're cooking it too long or your stove gets extremely hot. Try 230, but if the desired color and thickness comes before 230 then I suggest you take it off the stove at that time. Sometimes your eyes work better than the candy thermometer when it comes to caramel. This is why I eyeball mine. It shouldn't be hard, because I let my caramel apples sit out on the counter for a few days and it's still soft and chewy.

    • @DIYQUEENDIVA
      @DIYQUEENDIVA  Před rokem +1

      If the heat is too high the butter can separate from the sugar. Make sure you don't cook your caramel no higher than 4. Try melting your butter first on low no higher than 4 and then add all the ingredients at the same temperature. Continue to stir until done without taking a break. Did you get tired and stop stirring for a minute or so? Caramel can also separate if the recipe calls for constant stirring and the candy isn't stirred often enough. Take turns with someone with the stirring. Since this is the first time you had this issue, did you do any of the following above? It's something that you did different from the previous times.

    Why did my caramel slide off after sitting over night? I cleaned them, chilled them, brought the caramel to 240 degrees and dipped at 190 degrees.

    • @DIYQUEENDIVA
      @DIYQUEENDIVA  Před 9 měsíci +1

      There is only 2 reasons why your caramel slides off. Either you left them out on your kitchen counter and your house was too warm or you didn't strip down the wax off your apples good enough or not at all. I hope this helps you. 💕

    • @DIYQUEENDIVA
      @DIYQUEENDIVA  Před 9 měsíci +1

      You'll get it right the next time. The first time is always the most difficult. Put them in the refrigerator overnight and then let them come to room temperature once you are ready to eat them so the caramel can get back good and soft.

      You're welcome. You should put these in the candy apple boxes so you can avoid any caramel sticking to the bags.

      @@michelleallen1930 if the building is cool you shouldn't have any issues, but just in case there's no AC at the event you need to invest in a small portable refrigerator to keep your apples cool.
