I love the sax version. The only version that was finished to their satisfaction and was supposed to be included on the TYFTM boxset in 1994 but B&B changed their mind at the last minute. I hope the 3 versions get released one day in high quality

THANK YOU for snagging this gem. I know Benny's got his reasons, but it's a crime not to publish this song. It's one of the most ABBA-like songs I've heard: catchy, fun, clever (omigosh, the lyrics "throwing dust in my eyes" is verbal brilliance). How can we send a mass petition / request to Benny to release it as a gift to adoring fans if nothing else?

The song is beautiful and melodic, amazingly mixed with crystal harmonies. But it feels so haunting, with the distinct ABBA sound yet eerily foreign. The final records of ABBA in their post-the Visitors era (namely "the Day before you came", "Under Attack", "I am the City" and "You owe me one") are an amazing evolution of the visitors album and a completely new era for ABBA. I sometimes wonder what we would have seen from a 1982-3 'final' album. Maybe more of the outtakes if they had managed to finish them (the Hamlets for example, or burning my bridges, or even Under my sun and just a notion from earlier sessions. Dream world may have even worked for that album).

Waiting patiently for the day Benny and Bjorn release this song. I have read that Benny never liked the song. It was thrown together with parts from other songs that were never completed. Bjorn agrees. It was recorded several ways but they never thought it was good enough to be released. As talented as Benny and Bjorn are I disagree. I think its a much better song then 'Just A Notion' which was reworked and released on Voyage. I think it would be a huge hit if 'Just Like That' was released. Especially the saxophone version. The song has so many strong points. Amazing vocals and a brilliant chorus. Definitely has that distinctive Abba sound. Fingers crossed they release it someday.
It was never thrown together from parts of other songs. In fact, it was the reverse. "Under Attack" borrowed heavily from "Rubber Ball Man" and the guitar riff from "Just Like That".
Excellent song, this is the second demo. The third and final version is IMO the best. Uptempo and a saxophone from Baker Street!

This song is amazing with Beautiful melody and lyrics. The harmonizing of Agnetha and Anni-Frid are awesome and with the voices of Angels. I can't believe this gem was never finished and released as a single. Agnetha likes the song and said she would like to finish and release it.❤
Frida doesn't sing in this song, not even in the chorus. It is Agnetha doing the harmonies with herself.

"Just Like That" was recorded in May 1982 and "Under Attack" in August 1982. "Under Attack" was cobbled together from "Rubber Ball Man" and the two early versions of "Just Like That".

While I acknowledge that this is a fine pop song which would probably do well if released, I would be more interested in Benny doing a studio quality piano instrumental of When The Waves Roll Out To Sea - on which the verse of JLT is based. The demo version of that is very rough, but the melody is one of the most beautiful that he has ever written imho.

Too bad the percussion is muted in this one, and that thunkity punchy bass in the final version is absent. I like the NA NA NAs from this version though, and I think the saxophone in the final version sounds kinda messy. I also like how audible that tropicalesque guitar that appears throughout this version. Oh to be a producer with all the mixes and masters and separate tracks for this song... I'd make my own version. Without the muddled audio quality. ABBA's biggest mistake was leaving this unreleased. Sure, there's the 1994 boxset that contains snippets of the song's chorus, but the gorgeous verses would've gone forever unheard if someone hadn't stole tapes from Bjorn or Benny's car and distributed them underground.

Very recently Benny made it clear that Just Like That will never be released. He said it has a good chorus, but the rest is not up to standard.
