It's the most overtly political of the series, featuring the director's own political beliefs about Japan's role in the Cold War itself. It's not impossible to understand from an "outsider" perspective, but it's about something very specific to Japan's history.
man I love the sequence of animation and editing at 0:38. the quick cut from the Type 0's hand to it attacking is so cool. and even cooler is that low angle shot of it into kneeling into frame as the Ingrams revolver gets deployed. they had the juice man

I love this film, Zatiochi is amazing. This fight choreography was a perfect blend of realism and minimalism. A lesser director would have made this a 5+ minute flashy slug fest.
