What 4 mallet grip are you using?
Musser/Stevens grip, except I like to choke a little further in on the outer mallets - I find that this gives me better control on the outer mallets.
Kind of late to the video, but really cool idea! I like how you and EMC seem to be doing a lot more building projects. I’m starting college this fall and studying engineering, and I think that engineering and music have a lot more similarities than most people think. Great video tho!

MonkMan studios has probably the cheapest marimbas on the market.
A 5 octave is cheaper than most 4.3 marimbas.
My Mtech 5.0 is $146/mo, no interest. That’s less than my cellphone bill. I wish there were reasonably priced marimbas when I was in college. Practicing on a silent pad wouldn’t have helped me too much. Good job tho. Maybe it could be MIDIfied.
I thought MIDI-fying it would be cool, but probably a lot of work would be needed.
