What kind I of Battery Grip do you have?
Which will be better for wildlife photography in mean to say canon 90d or 7d Mark ii
I just started following you on Instagram. I was hoping to see your camera settings for the pictures you take? My husband bought me a new 90D for my birthday & I will have it next week. We live in the country on 5 acres with lots of tree's & have just recently had a Peacock move in, don't know where he came from & he's quite skittish. I can't get very close to him and I'm hoping to get some good pictures of him. I don't know if I will ever have a zoom lens like you use, so I'm sure I won't be able to get the amazing photos that you get. I ordered a Canon EF-S 55-250mm F4-5.6 IS STM Lens. I'm going to use the settings you shared in this video, so hopefully I will get some good pictures. We also have owls, vultures, rabbits & a multitude of other birds that live in our treelines. Thank you for all of the great & concise information!
This sounds stupid, but wants that thing on the front of your lens?
Here I sit, watching your first-class video, while reflecting on the fact that somebody much younger than me can teach me something new. THANK YOU!!!
The way you demonstrate and explain things is striking the famous chord in me. I have just changed from a Sony alpha to the superb EOS 90D and got a bit lost with the controls as they are ever so different. In fact, the 90D is an entirely different beast and demands a much deeper understanding of its handling. Hence, with your help, an array of lightbulbs began flashing when watching your video and admiring those stunning wildlife-stills.
Again, many thanks, I bow my head in respect to you.
One of the best tutorials out there. Wish you all the very best...
Out of all these Manual videos im watching, its wonderful to see a young American Dude doing so well. Your videos are excellent all around, from the background to the blue shirt over green background etc. And the tutorial was also great. Good Job young man!
I have just bought a 90D, this video is really informative and has helped immensely with my set up, thank you Tomas.
Excellent video, great diction [and no music - brilliant]! Love your action WL shots! Cheers from Down Under
Thank you so much! I got the Cannon 90d in May and I was afraid to use it because I didn't know where to start on my settings!!! I feel confident now to go out and shoot my wildlife subjects! I hope you have more videos on how to shoot macro, landscape, and portrait photography in the future!
I totally agree. I'm so confused just LOOKING and deciding what is the best camera and lens ect to buy let alone how to use them to begin with. I think I've decided to go with the 90D and to try emulate similar results using this young man's videos.
This was fantastic. I've had my Canon D7 for over ten years and never fully understood this stuff. Thanks!
Comprehensive - simple and makes sense. Thanks!
It's fascinating, soul of exploring.thank you for your technical/professional explaination.see the world as canon sees...
Subscribed! Really like how you actually show the process of everything and not just sit there and explain things. Really makes for good content! 👌🏻 congrats.
Very helpful video got my 90d yest...going to use it for bird photography in manual mode right from the beginning thanks to you. Will share the results tomorrow
Really good stuff, and I like your energy, I'm glad to see you are a fellow 90D lover! Your photos are AMAZING!!
Thanks so much!!
Hello Tomas, thank you for this detailed Canon 90D Setting tutorial. Very helpful and have tagged to watch again. Again, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Great review! Helped me decide to pick this camera up to replace my 70d. Also filled in some knowledge gaps. Thanks for making this!
Great video. This has encouraged me to go into full manual mode with your down to earth explanations. Thank you so much!
Excellent Information. New 90D owner and trying to use it to the fullest. This helps tremendously. Thanks
Hi Tomas,
It is great to watch Your video. Good information. I am a wildlife enthusiast and I shoot a lot of wildlife, specially bird flight, pictures using my Canon 7D Mark II. I know it is good to shoot in the Manual mode, as You have suggested. But I mainly shoot in the AV ( Aperture Priority ) mode and get tack sharp images. The point I would like to make is that You can set the minimum shutter speed of the camera to whatever You want for any of the creative modes, so that the camera does not go below that shutter speed, for any of the creative modes. For example, I set my minimum camera speed to 1/1600 of a second for birds flight and set the ISO to AUTO in the AV mode. Then I adjust the Aperture as per the depth of field that I need for every shot, in the AV mode. I set the exposure compensation to +1/3 stop. In this way, any picture You take will not be shot below 1/1600 of a second and the ISO is automatically calculated and set by the camera as per the exposure compensation.
-- Sorry for this long message.
thank you ! Clear and precise . Easy to follow
Thank you for all your hard work. It’s really helped me
Thank you for the video, I really appreciate it and enjoyed how you walked thru the features.
I'll have to say that i normally shoot in AV but after watching your video i thought i'd try and set my 650D using the same lens along the same path as the 90D ~ amazing results shooting in manual ~ great informative video and has pushed my photo's to the next level ~ Thanks very much
A beautiful and easy explanation, and it is the most useful on CZcams for users of the Canon 90D camera or Canon cameras in general. Thank you for this beautiful video, and by the way, I return to it from time to time.
I am a Nikon shooter but I must admit , your presentation is the very best of the best .
Good love ...London
Just what I was looking for 🙏
Amazing explanation! Thanks
Great visa love watching just got 90D can't wait to start using it so thank you for the tips
This is so helpful!!!
Thanks for being clear and not adding a bunch of BS. I am going to this cam , my 7D MK II is too hard to adjust.

Nicely done. I'm looking at getting the 90D to replace my Rebel XS, Came across your video and I really appreciated going through the menus.
I had the rebel XS a year ago, gosh is the 90d a GIANT upgrade!
Very true what you said. I have canon 7d and 100-400mm lens
Wow, over 20k subs already? Good for you dude!
Working on it!!
This was fantastic information!!! Now i can change my 90D settings and hopefully get better wildlife shots. Thank You! 👍🏽
I enjoyed you're video it helped me change a few things on my camera.
Thanks for the help with the Canon EOS 90D
rad, super helpful! starting to try and shoot more wildlife! Thank you!
Bro I really enjoyed your session. Learnt alot. Thankyou 🙏👍
Awesome video, thanks!
Hi Tomas. Great video on your setups for wildlife photography. I bought my EOS 90D two weeks ago and am eager to continue taking photographs of wildlife...especially birds. I have the 18-135 kit lens. I also will be using my older Canon 70-300 that I bought with my Rebel T3i years ago. I'm going to upgrade for more reach at some point, but in the meantime, getting basics down with the camera body is what I'll be doing in the meantime. Thanks again for a great introductory tutorial for the Canon EOS 90D. I have subscribed
Thanks for the info...its really great for me....
You’re doing a great job...
Fantastic video - informative and to the point. Awesome job.
Glad it was helpful!
This was VERY helpful. Thank you ... I just got a 90D and am struggling to adapt coming from a t7i. Wildlife is pretty much all I shoot. I'll see if I can put this into practice!
Great video. I'm in the Pros and Cons stage of comparing buying a new 90d vs used 7D mkii. Pros for 90d = 5y warranty, flip screen, lighter, more battery life, 4k video. Actually the more I type I am convincing myself that 90d is the way to go. Peace of mind of having warranty is always good. How weather sealed is the 90d in practical terms, because I know the 7D mkii is a beast in this area as well as in Autofocus, with preconfigured settings for AF scenarios for wildlife/sports.
Informative as always! :)
Glad I could help!
First i love your lighting second i like your background, so green. It feel so calm with the insect sound, i enjoying your video man..
Thank you so much!
amazing video ...thanks from the uk
much love from Sri Lanka! Keep it up brother!
Thank you 🙌
Thanks bro, great video from Indonesian 🇮🇩
Great video! Just got a 90D!
Wow, great explanation, thanks much!
Awesome !!!!
Great video very helpful.
Great video!
Thanks buddy, very well explained and pretty much how I had my 90D set up, but thanks.
Great to hear!
Great video I have the Canon 80D and I am having so much trouble learning all the settings for individual situations and environments. So hopefully most of the features and buttons work the same. It looks almost identical except for the size.
I like the Manual Mode on Canon, it s easy to reach speed or aperture fast than the other Modes and more accurate.
Great explanations. Thank you.
Very good video just got a 90d
You've made me realize I need to up my game from the 7D Mark II, thank you.
Thank you for this video. I wrote it down and downloaded it for later reference. Can you go over how to shoot in a foggy/ overcast days with the 90d? It's early spring here in Duluth, MN. Could you perhaps focus on a wildlife seasons video series? Labeled correctly- foggy rain, early spring, spring, full sun,sun partial clouds, fall colors with/without sun, first snow fall, and lastly middle of the arctic tundra-err full winter. A lot to do think about understandable. It would take over a year to complete, but would be easier to follow for many. Now and for many years to come. Videos are the new books learning tools for the next generations to come (in my opinion). It would be a great series to learn from . Please use the 90d if you choose to 😁. Thank you again.
Great video! Cheers
Thanks heaps for the clear info
Thank you so much for the video. I use to take picture on TV mode. I'll try manual next time.
wow nice camera..i love it
Planning to upgrade from 550D!
Oh! Btw, the advantage of C RAW is that you use less buffer meaning youll get longer time shooting continuous. 45shots in a raw if not mistaken in c raw but 30ish in just RAW
Solid review. I just upgraded to this exact body/lens combo
Please consider ordering from milfordphoto.com and mention that I sent you!
@@tomaskoeck unfortunately already have the lens and body, how about I pick up some filters and batteries instead?
Great presentation. Thanks!
Glad you liked it
I’m planning to purchase that exact setup. The 90D has great specs, and I like the versatility of the 100-400mm zoom. Also, I’m happy to see that such a skilled photographer (like yourself) pretty much uses the same settings I use. I’ve read many sources that insist on using shutter priority with flying birds. From my experience, if there is any sky or water in the frame, there’s always a chance the camera will grab the light reading from it and underexpose my bird by closing down the aperture. I like to make ALL the decisions. And contrary to what those articles say, I’ve never found myself in light conditions that change too rapidly for me to keep up with them. A couple clicks up or down…. no big deal!
Love your videos, man!
Believe me, you are better off buying the Sony A7III and Sony 600 mmm
@@VictorHugo-dy2kv I've already gotten my setup, and I LOVE it. A friend of mine coincidentally has the same exact setup that you mentioned. I've used it, and I dislike it. But thank you for your feedback.
@@VictorHugo-dy2kv Sony got a lot of attention in mirrorless for a few years, it was a fad, but a lot of people are switching back to Canon because of so many superior features and so much more gear available, etc.
Thank you kindly!
Good Job Bro
