We enjoy a cab ride in SR Manning Wardle 2-6-2T 190 Lyd as we journey from Killington Lane to Woody Bay on the revitalised Lynton & Barnstaple Railway in North Devon.
I understand its a 1 in 50 gradient, so can make the engines work with 'Lyd' and her sisters specifically designed for working over the Lynton & Barnstaple, but just as suited at her home on the Festiniog.
Nothing beats a Driver's Eye View in the cab of a steam engine.

I've read about the narrow gauge railways of the UK, but this video is just fantastic, thanks for posting.
Can't really tell, how steep is that? Sounds like the engine is working very hard...

How many miles of track are in operation? Like the mirror finish steam (?) dome
I believe its just over a mile, with plans to extend a further 5 miles soon. Will one day be a cracking little line!
