    Looking great Greg. So much painstaking work. Taking your time pays in the end. Nice work.

      I think you're right Randy. This is the foundation. If it's solid, square and true, that should carry through the whole build.

    Great job Greg, you are making some good progress and the patch panels fit great.

      The panels I have are the best fitting panels I've ever had my hands on... There are tiny details that need to be cleaned up, but they are very similar to the factory parts.

      Thanks Roger! Just trying to spread a few of the little nuggets I've picked up over the years. I'm hoping you'll pick up the camera a bit as well. I loved seeing the bandsaw progress!

    On butt welded seams I like to use a body file to check the alignment. Couple swipes across shows highs and lows quick.

      I have to remind myself of that EVERY TIME I'm working on a car. It's weird how my mind wants to get "just one more". Whether its welding, painting, bodywork, etc.

      LOL! It was a piece of cake. The rotisserie has casters on it. We just rolled it up there! The body only weighs about 500 lbs. (that's a guess, but I bet I'm close.)

    Hey Greg, what brand of welder are you using and wire size? Is it a 110v or 220v?

    • @GregsGarage
      @GregsGarage  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Hobart Handler. It's a 120V unit. I run .023" wire with C25 gas. I find the 120V miller/hobart welders have a different feel with thin sheet metal. The Lincoln's are fine, but the miller circuit has a softer feel. It's hard to explain, but I've welded with just about every brand and I've always liked Miller/Hobart. I've also welded with the 220V units. They work just fine, but they don't have the same feel as the 120V... It's been awhile since I've had a brand new miller/hobart in my hands, but I suspect the new units are similar to the older ones. I bought the rig I use in the videos 25+ years ago. I replaced the drive cassette last year. That's the first repair I've needed to make.
