The 5 Best Cone Drills for Speed and Agility:
1. 5-10-5 Pro Agility Drill
2. X Drill
3. 3 Cone L Drill
4. W Drill
5. Slalom Weave Drill
Agility Training Tips:
Before you start, get a solid dynamic stretch warm up to improve performance and minimize the risk of injury. Then, pick a few drills to develop a balanced training program for your workouts.
These cone drills should be performed at high intensity, just like in actual game situations.
These drills are designed to push your body to it's limits. So we recommend performing these drills when your body is fresh. The drills will not be as effective after any kind of physical activity, practice, or strength training. We recommend working on agility 3-4 times a week. And make sure to give your body time to rest in between each drill.
Each drill will have suggested cone spacing, which are sometimes standards for agility testing. As a general rule, cone spacing of 5 yards or less will develop quickness. Longer drills and 10+ yard spacing will boost your top speed and conditioning. Mix it up to stay on your toes and balance your workouts. - Sport

Great drills! I'm currently doing it on some concrete, would that be bad for the knees? Or is there no difference doing it on grass or concrete floors?
Monty Griswald wat sport
if you play a sport do it on the surface that you would play on. grass is ideal.
Do on grass if possible ...Yes concrete will be bad for knees

Hey Semiliu, thanks for watching!

Just what I was looking for, for my 9 year old son
nice intro
will u please tell us no. of times we should do each drills???? and how much time we should take as a rest between each drills.....10 sec or 30 sec????
Hi Surya! We recommend 3 sets of each drill, no more than 3-4 times per week. Rest long enough so that you are fully recovered between each drill. The goal is to improve your speed and agility, so it should feel different than conditioning drills. Agility training should be done while your body is fresh, before practice or strength training.
how many sets and how many times per week would u recommend for max gains. considering already active athlete.
Hey Tom! We recommend 3 sets of each, no more than 3-4 times per week. Agility training should be done while your body is fresh, before practice or strength training.

I was cycling a 38 mile ride the other day and foolishly stopped for water. Then the horseflies started mobbing me.
I did all of these drills in 5 minutes in a pure panic. 😳 What I wanted to achieve?
Getting away!
I could play a mean halfback
Thanks for the video. Good info. One question: Shouldn't the first video be called 5-10-10? The graphic is different than the demonstration? Thanks!
Hey Ben! Thanks for the comment. You're right. It's called the 5-10-5, but sometimes the last step of the drill is done as a full 10 yard sprint. Feel free to customize how you think would work best for your goals!
yep, i was just saying the same thing LOL
Eric Hightower it actually is a 5 10 5 drill. Ypu sprint through the middle cone to finish
yep, got it, had to look at it again lol
How many reps
Individual demonstrating here is as tired as I am laying on this 🛏 watching a speed training 📹

Not bad drills but the form is really poor! When you make some tutorials the least thing is to make it clean.
