i could hear by the excitement in the good captain's voice that he was a big fan of that boat.
thnx for another dandy episode guys.
26:30-“...that’s a pretty nice mirror.”(Capt admiring the reflection, LOL!)
You two make me laugh with EVERY episode! Please, never stop!! Love these ‘classic’ boats.
Thanks again for another great boat. Thanks to you I rejoined a sailing club. Cat 27, Cat 26, Newport 24 and Victory sloops. I helped with maintenance yesterday and had lunch with some of the guys. I then went on a 3 hour sail to show my sailing skills. They let me join and I now can take a Victory out whenever I want. Thanks again for doing these videos and reminding me that I just needed to get back on the water again. You really make sailing sound fun (which it is).
Time spent with Captain Q snd Randay is quality time and "Instagram is not a place" gets me everytime!!😅😂🤣
Wonderful Show. It is easier to dream of this boat than to purchase her. The range of vessels you both show is important to frame the final selection. Thank you again
Every Shannon I have seen only makes me want one more. So we'll built that decades later, still as new. Great yachts.
I appreciate your channel so very much! An escape for an old and retired Navy man; the love of sea and sailing...ageless.
The boat featured today is absolutely amazing! Thank you Captain Q and Ran-Day!
You educate a novice such as myself in a way of life I know I will love the more I get into it. Thank you Captain Q!
I can see why Q chuckled at that line cutter... Can't see how it would work being mounted so close to the hull like that.
Captain Q gives me hope for our future. He just seems like good people.
1:30, 2:05 upper left.. nice camera rig... nice gel coat.. great video.......Appreciate all the work! Miss your chapter menu..
Excellent job men! That was so much fun to see! It was worth the wait!!
Grampian 26 all the way- keel and rudder are a dead give away. Too bad I don’t think I was first to say that though. Great boat for someone learning to sail.
“It’s wicked smooth”
Now I can rest peacefully.
Shannon's are gorgeous and are built above most! Keep bringing the Shannon's!
Never thought it would happen at my age, but..... I'm in love ! No not you Capt. Q or you Randy !.... This beautiful organized and safety-minded boat. I have a new goal, find a boat like this that can be sailed single or short-handed or one to build on !
"I will find a way, or I will make one!" Love your attitude, all power to you!
You guys have the best boat channel on CZcams. I look forward to every episode.
Thanks for the hard work and sharing your passion.
So true great boats, humour very educational
Nice sailboat....but I like the little boat called Trooper in the back ground at the end.
The stuff dreams are made of. Thank you.
You almost lost me until you mentioned the Heat and AC. The only thing I question is the reverse Nav station, I like a forward facing Nav station but I could buckle down and change if push came to shove. Wonderful Yacht but I would quibble over the price to get a better deal. Very nice cruiser!
I’m sure any seller will quibble with any quibbling buyer. Happy quibbling
You fellas are wonderful ! watch all the time !
What a beautiful boat I did notice when you were doing you're Rating if you look behind you there was a maybe Sister in black moored without Sticks up
She is a beauty! thanks for sharing with us!
Very very VERY nice boat.......thank you for sharing
Grampian 26! The keel had me Ericson, but the notch in the rudder gave it away ultimately.
I think you're right!
Shawshank Redemption actor Morgan Freeman used to own a Shannon 43.
Cherry! Not too often do you see an interior trimmed in cherry wood. That deserves another point. 27. Aloha 🤙
I would have scored this boat a 27. The extra point for having that beautiful black gel coat ! 😍
Amen! Beautiful!
You do such a great job touring these boats! Knowledgeable and charming. I love this boat, too. Thanks for the video!
Great episode!
I love your channel just discovered it and binge watched all the episodes. What I do miss is some more tips or tricks to detect faults like on what cracks to watch out how to spot hidden problems. I’m looking to buy a boat. Love how you quiz the co host and us like this. Really again love the channel and hard work
Thanks again for another excellent boat and more excellent video. Love your channel!
This song is so good that it's one of the best songs i've ever heard.
Great to see the Yacht Hunters out working for us. Thanks guys! Next week's boat, I'm going with my first guess, Nimble. That 22 year old boat looks like somebody spent a lot of time working to pay for a boat they didn't have time to use. There sure are a lot of those.
As usual great job, keep ‘em coming
Beautiful yacht. Really love the Shannon’s so well laid out for the crew. Thanks for another great review.
Another great video and again, thanks for the jazz! I never have to mute your videos!
I love what you guys do and how you do it! I just discovered your show so now and must quarantine for 11 more days because of covid and catch up on all your reviews. Keep it up! That Shannon sure is sweet.
OK, so when can I move in? I wish. You two are a real hoot. Fair winds laddies.
Thank you for showing this super sailing ketch. This would be the one I would use for sailing in the sunset. But like you Kaptn Q. Age is the hindering factor. Thanks again! Great video!
Aren't the ones that open "portholes" and the ones that don't "portlights?" That was my understanding. But I could be wrong. Not like that's ever happened, but I suppose I _could_ be...
Whoever buys this boat will have demonstrated that he or she has more going for him or her than just a bank account. It seems to be a very fine piece, well-constructed, well laid-out, sturdy and seamanlike and well-adapted to the task of blue-water cruising while still being of shallow enough draft to be useful in a large number of anchorages. Apparently this Walter Schultz guy had a handle on these things.
Tomorrow is Thursday! I understand being tired, and hurricanes.
I hope we get back on track (not a hurricane track either) for the highlight of my week which is Thursdays with Sea Dog, Ran-Day, and Captain Q!!!
If not, I fully understand. Sometimes tiredness gets the best of me too.
I love how Capt. Q color coordinated his attire to the boat...........
They made a beautiful boat , top stuff guy's 👏 👌 ❤ 👍
Loved this Shannon. Very nice
I love solid railings on the side of a boat, why are they not more common than wire guard rails? Is it something to with windage or perhaps complications for sail handling or that wire rails are less visable? Solid rails are just so much safer and confidence inspiring! Would like to see CaptainQ commenting on this matter on a review? Thank you Q and Randay.
I don’t think I have ever seen Capt Q so excited!!! She is gorgeous. Captain and Randy - question - with a boat like this, and for those of us who have land lives as well as our sailing love, what sort of sailing would you do with this boat? (By the way.. ‘`Randy you can keep Firefly..” 🤔)
There is lake, sea, and rivet sailing, coastal land dwellers may have Ocean, sea, fiord, inlet sailing, and time and resources permitting, blue water Ocean sailing including Great Circle. For S and East Coast, shallower draft and center-board vessels for the Caribbean (oh, also for Micronesia and Indonesia.
There are many millions of willing wanting or actual sailors around the world.
For the mystery boat at the beginning, I believe that it might be a Grampian 30
beautiful! Brilliant!!
you can tell Captain Q is very popular..... look at all those fans :P
Fantastic episode of a Yacht I truly covet- I would love to be so lucky to own a Shannon. Thank you for the great review. I learned tons! And my best guess for the mystery boat at the beginning of the episode is an Irwin Citation (which I now realize is pretty wrong... but close?) lol . :). Stephen Black
What a beautiful boat.
You are definitely right about it being a 26.
Was getting worried!! Thanks guys
Great video! I want a Shannon bad! That one looks spectacular. 👍
Top quality. This is how the the 1% sail .
Beautiful sailboat!!
I could love living on this boat in my back yard!(Only kid on the block).Love It! THX,MDL.
We should all be so lucky!!
Stunning Shannon.
I believe she is still available. And she was a treat to see
Wicked smooth!
Spent time at sea as a young man and would love to return but alas won't sell the farm to do it. Love your videos very entertaining I'll settle for that. Thanks !,!
WOWIE ZOWIE !!!....Thanks you 2....sweet dreams tonight...
I feel conflicted. It looks nice, but it looks like it’s never been used. Did someone buy a boat just to look at it?
You're going to have to upgrade from the DM and Frixinet for this one. No expense spared on this gem.
Add the pillows and you have a 27! Nice vessel. God Bless you guys.
Another great boat ,Captain Q
Beautiful sailing boat
Is part of your intro shot on the Eastern Prom in Portland. I lived in the old Longfellow Arms Hotel in the late 70's, so it has been awhile.
Captain Q, tell them to hesitate in neutral when going between forward and reverse or reverse and forward.
I love that boat, OMG, if only I had the money. 🤔🤠⛵
I need to check my lottery ticket.
That is a lot of boat but more money than most can think of putting towards one.
Good info as always from you both.
Nice guys good job! Interesting boat I would take it but I only buy boats in two’s
Outstanding. The sea dog eats the stew and is winning
My guess is a sailboat! Love your videos! Keep them coming.
My God I thought you would never post guys. Nice one.
Cheers
YAY!
Great boat!!! I bought the book you recommended, Wolds Best Boats" and used it to search for all those makes and models. I found the boat you reviewed through that search! Great to see you Gents bring the character of the boat to life.
When the damn covid thing stops - I'd like to head to the US, grab a boat like that Shannon and sail home to Sydney.
Keen to know if you know anything about converting a US boat from 110v to 240v - can you just update the inverter?
Also - keen to see if you Gents could review a Hallberg Rassy. I like the simple Swedish designs I think...
That’s one tight companionway with a mesan mast.
A beauty
What a gorgeous sailboat.. ⛵.. Just a dream, because that's my chances of owning it.. LOL..
Something else I love on sailboats are pilot berths as on this boat and preferably on both sides of a saloon. They are some of the most sailing friendly assets to grace a sail boat but sadly have to compete with storage requirements on most newer designs! Sadness…
I agree… sometimes nothing more cocoon-like than a nice pilot berth when healed over… it’s like being rocked asleep… (for 3 hrs max). Cheers seafair!
Another great find Captain Q.
If you're looking for suggestions, how about a Nor'Sea, if you find one in your travels?
My guess is a Nielsen 26. Great video as always!
Are the electric winch buttons for 'in'' and 'out' or for one speed and the second button for the second speed?
The Shannon is very nice. Out of my budget. My guess is Ericsson 29 under the wrap!
The unwrapped boat looks like an Ericson 32, keel looks similar to the Skithblathnar pacific seacraft / ericson.
Cal 25 boat guess.
Great videos!
Especially like the aft-stateroom with attached super head. Self tacking staysail for me is worth 10 points by itself-I have few friends! Centreboard is a big plus, wish she had less draft. The gas locker in that position under the “captain” should in future be labelled in CaptainQ terminology - should be christened “The James Bond or 007 seat(as in ejection!)”! While this luxury boat(and many others of the same ilk) has so much perfection on board, it is a cause of some concern to me with 😮my rusting joints that more thought is not given to boarding either from a dingy or climbing back on board after a swim, intentional or not! Why not stern steps with hand-rails, now that could be a real winner for Walt! SkipRay, Kerry(The Kingdom), The Emerald Isle.
Mystery boat is a Grampion 26' rudder is the give away
Before watching your videos, I was leery of old boats from manufacturers I hadn't hear of. Now it seems there are a ton of great older boats to have. But are there any stinkers out there? Any boats to avoid?
Would love to see you look at a Endeavour 43 cc
That mystery boat has a Pearson looking rudder, so that’s my guess!
It is pretty.
Captain Q for president
The 47 is my favourite
It's lovely, for sure. But there was just something about the Ted Hood Steel Yawl at $119,000 that spoke to me ... and with the $160,000 price differential you could /really/ make the Steel Yawl something special. Just saying :) But this is a great boat too, no question ... and thanks again Capt. and Ran-day for your tireless messing about on the water :)
Right on
Oh Wow ! Super Super Beaut Sailboat. But Having just checked my Lotto Ticket, am unhappy to say I didn't win..Bugga.
But thanks guys for teasing me with another sweet vessel....Cheers
She’s a beauty❣️
What is on the counter to the left of the sink in the second head?
