I put the floor vent magnetic sheets in a picture frame from Goodwill. I store my most often used dies in the frame. The rest of my dies are in CD cases with smaller pieces of magnet sheets to hold them in place. I use a rotating CD rack to hold all the cases. The rack also holds all of my unmounted stamps.

TFS. I'm always amazed at how many people want to know the exact details including where to buy something. They have computers in their hands with search engines galore. And gripe about free tutoring. For real I just shake my head.

I realize your video is 5 years old, but I am thrilled to find it. As crazy as it is I went to Lowe's to get vent covers today (and waited and waited for help-ugh!) and they were sold out. Like you I want to organize all my stamps and dies, but I am stumped with no magnets. I think your video helped me see many of the options out there will work just find and dandy. I am excited to subscribe and watch more videos! Great job!

This is great!! I’ve been doing business with Oriental Trading for years and I didn’t know they had these!? I had bought a magnet roll from Tap Plastics and just measured and cut. I got a bunch out of it but it’s not flat. I had to work hard to get them as flat as they are now! Thank you so much!😃

I found out the hard way for magnet sheets I was using to store my dies on. I have found out that if I adhere the lesser strength magnets on some cardboard (I cut up a box.) it helps the dies stay on better because they don't bend. I buy my magnets from Amazon.
What is sad about all of this is, my cost of storage is much more then the cost of the item I'm storing to keep organized. They sure know how to get us crafters. Before we crafted to save money. Now we only craft for enjoyment. Because we sure aren't saving money. It's a love of an art form.
I like the idea of the mylar as dividers. I have mine divided but with heavy card stock glued and folded in half with rounded corners. It's a temp thing until I could find another idea. Which now, thanks to you, I have!

Good job & for your first time too. Thanks for all your information. I've been looking for a better way to store my dies & I think I've found the one. I have the Stampendous Thicker storage containers for my rubber mounted stamps so now I think I will use the Thin & the magnet sheets for all my dies. Just makes for easier access to the dies. Like you I am visual so I need to see what I have. In addition they shouldn't take up that much room being thin. Also appreciated your comments on the three different magnet sheets.

Just "found" your channel and so glad I did!! I have subscribed and watched several now!! I just wanted to tell you I have a love/hate relationship with these things!!! I have many crafters companion plastic organizers and you can probably see they are cheaply made. The openers have broken off that hold the dies and stamps in but I haven't tried the other two. I do like a system that opens and closes as they do not stay where they are put!! I have Tonic Studios zippered cases, crafters companion cases that also zip but those also do not stay put but both keep them enclosed. I purchase the Gina K Designs clear boxes for her collections and like that it closes but she sometimes sends her dies on the Stamp and Storage blocks. Those seem pretty good to me compared to the others BUT they do not have cases to keep the dies in so...GKD used to send her kids in these clear boxes but now sells them separately and I do like them for on going work projects. I have Heartfelt Creations storage also but not a fan of those either! I have a couple of Anna Griffin storage folders which are ok but you keep those in clear plastic storage that do not seal. I wish u could come up with something that truly works for me!!! Thanks for all of your hard work as I enjoy watching!! Blessings!!

I appreciate your video. I am working up a storage system for dies. The walmart crafters companion.. the binders I can get from Costco. The Large Mylar sheets ... well they sell translucent file folders at dollar stores I might look into getting those to make dividers.( I do not have a Pat Katans near me. Never heard of it. guessing at spelling) I got magnetic sheet from Amazon about the same cost as your oriental trading already cut down to the two most used sizes with adhesive backs. Thank you so much for all the inspiration. I really needed it.. getting into some overwhelm with all I have to organize in my crafting area. Thank you so much, having some of my choices validated really helped and the new info even more so.

Great job! I saw another video kind of the same, same three kinds of magnets, but it was mish mash (I hope that's a word or two), and left the viewer kind of confused. The whole point of it was to show how strong the magnets are, and that's important, but you gave concrete examples of how each would work for you. I HAVE BEEN USING MAINLY (sorry about caps) the vent covers and I cut them down to use in my Avery Elle storage envelopes. I end up with little pieces, which I use in various ways. I have been known when I'm down to my last bit and don't want to go to Home Depot, to glue them side by side in the envelope (on card stock) and I have even put my larger dies in there, and it doesn't look as nice, altho not too bad, but it doesn't bother me. I also do the same as you, when I have a stray die or so. All in all, great video!

I have been using the Stuftainers for all my stamps and all my dies. It keeps them clean, dust free and you can get 2 magnetic sheets in one stuftainer and still have plenty of breathing room. I can see from the front and the back what dies I have in that container. They stack nicely in a box or basket and are easy to put labels on the tops. These things are priceless to use as stamp holders, the stamps stick right to the product and again holds stamps on the front side and the back side and everything stays clean, orderly and dust free. You can google where to buy the Stuftainers at the best price. You will love this system for your stamps and dies.

Great information, I’m in the Uk and won’t be able to get the vent covers or Oriental trading as their shipping ends up being about three times what I pay for them, so way above my price range, but I’m sure I can get something like it here, maybe not the vent covers as we don’t tend to have them over here. I’m not sure what to use to store them In, I can get the Avery Elle envelopes from amazon but they are quite expensive, but I’ll find something, it’s more the storage bin, a lot of folk say the dollar tree is where they got theirs, but our pound stores which are meant to be the same sort of thing, doesn’t have anything like that, in fact it’s pot luck what they have as it’s usually just the ends of lines. Anyway thank you for this it’s got me thinking. Huggles xxxAnnxxx

I used placemats from the Dollar Tree for 2 dividers, measured and cut them down to size to fit my containers.

Can you give me a link to the Crafter Companion magnetic sheets? I have lots of dies with stamps and love your idea on storing the two together. Thank you very much!

I've watched many videos on this topic too, so thank you for comparing all of them. I have a number of large A4 size die sets for which I'm still struggling to store similarly. Any suggestions? The Stampendous tall holders are about 1/2" too short :(. Thanks for your time and input!

Great information. I was wondering how all of the magnets worked. My question about the Avery Elle bags - are they sturdy or do they tear apart? I have seen some people making a really sturdy "envelope" out of laminating bags that looks a lot more sturdy. Your thoughts?

Hello Leslie, thanks for stopping by. The stufftainer containers (thin ones) are a stampendous product (STOR01 Thin Stufftainers) mine are from Pat Catans. Hope this helps, good luck with your organizing. You will really enjoy the results, get more use out of your dies. Blessings to you, have a great day.

the oriental trading magnets really jumped in price. they are now $22 for twelve. by the time you add $6.99 shipping and tax, my order was about $30.
i tried the vent cover from walmart. wimpy magnet, barely holds anything. good thing i only bought 2 packages.
