    I squirted WD40 into mine, especially in the gap between the mirror and the inside of the mechanism. Used loads. Moved wing mirror back and forth and after a few times it kicked back into life. Also sprayed the other side while I was at it. I will keep an eye on it and if it fails again I will take it to the dealer. I have 2.3 years warranty remaining so plenty of time in case it recurs.

    Very easy fix 100% work. Just spray wd40 on the corner around the mirror connection, holder, edge and keep open/close about x10 n keep lubricating it with wd40 after close as well use a cloth to wipe away excess fluid until mirror/motor restored to normal functionality. Sometimes the motor dry up from dirt/dust and it gets jammed. Reapply method after every 6months.

      king8 i has the same problem and I thought about WD40. Good that you mentioned it though. Also, I noticed that mine the driver side mirror takes a longer time when it fold close than the passenger one. Do u have same issue?

    I just had the near side mirror motor replaced because of this issue, got home, and the driver side was doing the same. Weird how this one started immediately after the other was just fixed. Mazda will say each mirror is a separate issue - but it cant be!

      How much did it cost to replace the motor if you don’t mind. I really don’t want dealer to touch my car. Every time they fix something and seems break other things in the process

  • @kboyshane3366
    @kboyshane3366 Před 4 lety +4

    Both my mirrors were replaced under warranty.
    The Mazda service centre said it was due to the original mirrors not being fitted with water proof motors but the replacement mirrors are waterproof (allegedly)
    Unfortunately the driver side has stopped working again.
    The service agent says that all they can do is to replace the mirrors every time during the warranty.
    The car is now two years old and with one year left on the warranty, I’m worried that this will be an ongoing problem after the warranty runs out.
    It would appear that Mazda are unable to find a solution to their own technology.

    Same issue here in Japan, cx5 2017, after a Storm.....

    Same problem here. It seems that on my left side mirror, the inner motor has a shorter range and I need to adjust it by closing/open it several times, or by pushing the mirror manually. Anyway, is frustrating.

    WELL KNOWN ISSUE MAZDA KNOW ALL ABOUT THIS, ITS CAUSED BY WATER GETTING INTO THE MOTOR CASING, UNFORTUNATELY IT REQUIRES A NEW MOTOR.
    DOOR CARD OFF, REMOVE THE MIRROR, STRIP IT DOWN, AND REPLACE THE MOTOR

      Water is 100% problem! 👍👌
      Dry it, and your problem gone... 👍 😎😉

  • @sen5908
    @sen5908 Před 4 lety +2

    NO DO THIS , YOU LOOK AT THE ACTUAL MIRROR GLASS AND SPRAY WD40 BEHIND THE GLASS , WATER GETS INTO THE ELECTRICS SO THE WD40 STOPS THE WATER , SO WD40 BEHIND THE MIRROR GLASS

    I have same problem on my mazda 2, i strip it open, found one shaft inside gear was loose/shifting, so no contact between gear,but motor was fine you can cofirm it by the sound motor running when operating side mirror,i just add small piece of plastic to stop the shaft from loose/shifting. This problem happen because my side mirror hit a pole during parking

      Just spray plenty of WD40 on both of the side mirrors when opening and closing use a cloth to wipe excess liquid. Keeps at it until all the dirts are free or once motor/mirrors are function normal again. Works 100%. Reapply method every 6 months.
