I haven't played much mid-tier recently, and after getting extremely tired of t10 I decided to try fuso after a very long time. Turns out it's super fun! I really like this ship and the meta at this tier is waaaaaay better than at t10. If you are tired of t10 I'd give this a shot.
I'm Potato_Quality, a member of O7, and probably one of the best battleship players in this game. Hopefully, on this channel, I can teach you a bit about how battleships are played. Thanks for watching.

When people talk carp about fuso's pagoda tower.
Fuso, aims all 12 guns: Do not question the ELEVATED ONE.
It gets increased range
How Fuso and New Mexico were balanced back when they were the only tech tree t6 BBs, is one of the great mysteries of wows
They weren't... I went down the US BB line first all those years ago and felt at a constant disadvantage. You're slow, you have worse guns, armour and poor range.
The thing about US BBs back then was they had good AA (and you could still put Captain points into anti-AA), so you could basically deal with CVs where IJN ships couldn't.
Needless to say I never actually finished the US BB line. I got to the Iowa, stopped and then actually finished the IJN BB line first (in about 1/3 the time as it took me to reach the Iowa).
Yamato was my first tier X and it is still the best BB in the game in my opinion.
The IJN BB has been the most gun BB line for me to play.
The US BB line has it's fun moments. N cal and Iowa are fast and stealthy so can get into decent positions but sometimes I feel they don't punish broadside BBs as much, so their positive traits are kind of wasted. Low tier US BBs are awful.
German BBs are just not worth the pain. Most people over extend because of the temptation to use secondaries and die quickly. Plus the dispersion is painful. If you want a BB which rewards you for good aim - don't go German.
I think Russian BBs, UK BBs and French BBs all look pretty good and fun to play, but they don't really suit my play style so I've moved on to cruisers.
@@semi-skimmedmilk4480 Never played an US BB, but I went all the way to Bismarck. At low tiers you dont care about dispersion: just ram everybody and you win by damage and sec, its super fun until tier 7 and above. I was burnt down on Gneise and Bismarck before reaching my objective, torps everywhere, dispersion so awful i barely do 2-3k damage per salvo... I just quitted them, not worth the hassle. Then, one day on TST I played the Izmail, and that shit felt way mooooore fun and rewarding for sniping and positioning than the higher tier german BBs, i felt so idiot after wasting time and credits on Bismarck... Now Ive Thunderer which i wont comment xD but once I grind a BB again, definetly Ill go for Russians. Weegee is biased, but hell russian BBs are so durable, agile and very hard hitting.
@@redviking2086 lool im sorry but this just means you played poorly. Izmail is definitely satisfying with 12 guns better speed and maneuverability, compared to say New Mexico. But if you’re looking for consistent gun performance the Russian BBs won’t give you that until you get to real close range, and higher tiers won’t allow you to do that unless you know how to push and when to push. In fact, you also lose agility the higher the tiers you go, with the Kremlin having just as clumsy a turning circle as Grosser Kurfurst. That said ANY ship can do well, some more easy, some more difficult in whatever is the current meta (i.e. Grosser Kurfurst), it all just comes down to how you play to each ships strengths. And with how you described how you played Gneisenau and Bismarck just sounds like you like to rush into the cap/enemy team and commit suicide, which if so, ultimately doesn’t help anyone and definitely doesn’t help your personal statistics.
I haven't played the IJN eiffel tower in a while
That was me in the T-61, and I was not happy about that blind shot- nor the 7K salvo right before it! lol. I did think about a 'hack' comment, but guessed it was a lucky shot and just exited to port. Nice carry! Always enjoy your vids.
Amazing, always fun to see your vids man. I definitely will try it. Tks for the tips and all
thanks again for sharing your thought processes and approach. i feel like a lot of streamers talk about map awareness, but don't really elaborate on what it is they're seeing (that i either miss entirely or am significantly behind on identifying).
also, that shot at 29:42. love it!
Fuso for a long time was the only ship I kept after unlocking the next one. I kept her captain too, and he's a 16-pointer now. I play her at least once a day still. Always been good for me.
That blind shot made my day! What a shot!
you killed me at 30:42. didn't realize it was you until the post match screen
I got caught between you and the Oklahoma had to pick one to angle against
GGs
I play this game on/off for 4 years now but i never played a lot.
Just yesterday i "finished" the Fuso to get to my second level 7 ship ever and i had my best game ever in the Fuso a day before that - i did 115k damage.
Dont show me how much damage a good player can do at tier 6, stay at the high tiers so i can still pretend my low damage numbers are only because of my tier while im enjoying your videos :-D
115k is still good!
Top notch video. We all know the game is far from perfect but watching someone play the game well and have a laugh. All I want from a CC most of the time. Thanks mate
Last time I was this early, AA meant something.
Thnx for playing IJN ships
I LOVE that thumbnail lmao
PS: What is the angle indicator mod called ?
I like the historically accurate photo for the title
I kinda disagree with Concealment Expert in the build.
You're still spotted from the Moon, and mid tier maps such as New Dawn, Fault Line, Trident and Estuary have plenty of islands that will break line of sight, so concealment isn't that relevant. Plus there's going to be a CV almost every time, often two of them.
I know it's an unpopular view, but after a full fire-mitigation setup (BoS and FP), I'd actually take *Radio Location* , as it's very useful in the late game to predict where torpedoes might be coming from, or whether an enemy DD is going for a cap or waiting to ambush you from behind an island, and whatnot.
Of the over 5000 games I've played, there is one Fuso game I wish I had recorded. 3 DDs were chasing me up the West and North sides of the map. 2 chasing and 1 off my starboard bow. The angry fish were plentiful. They did flood me out, but not before I had sunk all 3. Ah, a Fuso captain in 2015 was a thing of beauty. Still my most played ship.
Fuel is love. Fuel is life. Hail the Pagoda!
Very powerful ship for its tier
It also has 34%torp damage reduction
Saw u used mostly AP, the HE (12 barrels) does 5700 damage / 59mm pen / 25 % firechance (base) (If they dont cooperate with showing broadside HE does lots of damage)
Fuso is so good ! I started grinding BBs a few months to get to know how to play them, and on the way I scored a lovely 173k with the Fuso. The ship's a blast, defenetly my go to BB in T6, alongside Pensacola and Gaede for CA and DD.
Pensacola is the ultimate team ship, while all the enemy focuses It, your team deals damage uncontested.
@@myvideosetc.8271 It does atract the eye of many ships, and his turret rotation might doom you, but you're rewarded with a fast ship with nice firing angles and god-like AP performance for the tier. Also 10 shells.
@@unfazer-v2260 Correct, since I accepted this, I actually enjoy it, i even use it in "receive potential damage" missions.
The fuso splatter is the way. With the new captain skill reducing dispersion the fuso will be a long range assassin.
really helpful! could you do Queen Elizabeth just like this?
I remember when I first played the fuso, I wondered how guns could be so inaccurate but so accurate at the same time
Fuso is fun agreed but when was the last time you played bayern? Since the accuracy buff its been the better pick IMO plus it has the 380mm with the overmatch and the armour plus the best AA for tier 6 aswell as ridiculous manouverability for the tier. Would be interested to see you give it a few rounds. Cheers
With the Fuso I once oneshot a Nürnberg on 23 km, that was so satisfying...
What is that vision mod? I mean His sight about His ship
I highly recommend looking at Izmail, too. It's absolutely bonkers and seems to never overpen citadels like Fuso does occasionally.
I am also really glad people are acknowledging that playing at tiers that isn't tier ten is actually still part of the game and can be enjoyable!
imo it seems like Izmail is the most easiest T6 BB to citadel. Once they show broadside, that hp bar gonna be cut in half.
Question: I frequently see you using Battery Fire in BBs instead of Volleys. Is there an advantage or is that personal preference?
Hi, PQ and others. Does Fusō changed so much since two years ago? It has a lot of disperssion and I'm having a hard time trying to get this ship right. I'm a cruiser player, and I'm not get used to the travel time of dreadnot shells. Any tips?
If you're going to be doing a lower-tiers vid, do the Warspite!
I do remember duking it out with a Florida and winning. Both had half health. Was good. The florida was kind of worse than me. So I won.
Thank You.
I never have a problem with IJN BB line. Every ship from low to high tier is very enjoyable to play
I have 1700ish battle with her such an op ship with basics knowledge you can easily deal damage and get top frag with her.
I've been trying to grind out the Nagato and it just feels like a downgrade compared to the Fuso for me. The dispersion feels so wonky that I always just have shells completely miss ships even when I'm aiming well and would hit if I was using other ships. When it does hit, it hits hard, but I just find other ships way less frustrating to play.
What's your mod for Crosshairs?
Thank god, I thought I was the only person who rated Fuso, haha. (She's been my default T6 for many years).
She was my one of my seal clubbing ships of choice, the only one I liked better was the Normandie, I would have a Kracken in the Normandie about every 5th game I played.
I loved the Fuso.. I just checked my stats with it lol I Averaged 94k a battle in it haha a Tier 6 thats including bad games
Fuso, Nagato and Amagi are just part of a tech tree line that's just simply a lot of fun. Then Yamato is the cherry on the cake as the best BB in the game... I had so much fun going through the IJN BBs
Izumo hmmmmmmmmm
Yamato: Im the best BB in game
Kremlin, Thunderer, Ohio, Bourgogne, Slava: allow us to introduce ourselves
@@redviking2086 Yami with legendary mod: hello there
I find the Nagato a lot squishier than the Fuso, frankly.
She doesn't get a reinforced dupper deck, and she has a bigger superstructure as well, so she'll take a lot more damage from low caliber HE spam as well as overmatching AP from enemy BBs armed at least with 15'' guns.
Her 16'' guns overmatch T6-7 BBs, but you could HE spam them anyway in the Fuso, so that was never really a problem.
@@landochabod7 yeah but nagato packs a punch. I dev strikes an Iowa in it (I was like 2km away and the Iowa completely underestimated me by showing completely broadside)
Fuso is a tanky ship? I regularly abuse them with my Bayern
If it wasn't for the CV's at these levels I would play nothing but mid tier. I really enjoy my ships at mid tier like my Fuso. I always have the most fun with mid tier. Low tier is a CV nightmare and high tier is a nightmare all over. The only thing the Fuso itself has that is bad is the atrocious AA. It is a sitting duck for CV bombers and torp bombers.
Back in 2015 my very first line were US BBs. And i remember how much i loved the New Mex. Little did i know how badly WG made her compared to the beast which is the Fuso. The Fuso is just straight up better in every single way except concealment. They could swap the reload times of these two and Fuso would still be great.
Bayern, Queen and Normandie are pretty meh. The only real competition for Fuso came with the Izmail. But i think the Fuso is still the Boss of T6. The way you can bully same tier and even some T7 ships around with it is just brutal.
Sadly, its one of the most misplayed ships in the game, bc ppl think they need to sit at 21km and snipe. They miss out on so much fun...
I was German BB line player with my all secondary builds But shifted to Japanese BB.
Even though I am new to the Japanese BB line man the range of main battery guns are insane. This video helped me lot about how to fuso. And Right now i am on Nagato
Which os excellent ship but i still struggling with long range dispersion and Nagatos AA are pretty bad compared to other tech trees BBS. So i need some guidance about how to Nagato.
So Can you make video on How to Nagato, pls👍👍👍
Japanese bb main here , Just make sure to not brawl in nagato its pretty weak on the armor side but its guns hurt when its hits just like fuso.
your CV dont give a flying FU on that base cap xD
My amagi has 211m dispersion but 90% of gameplay feels like 280m or more at 20km range.
I get more Dev Strikes with the Fuso then any other ship I play.
Do Alaska plzz :D I'm not good enough to demonstrate it to a friend
To be fair... NM Colorado ect had terrible real life reloads (aroudn 40+s - because of small turrets and loading systems), while at this time IJN on fuso/kongo had actually somewhat around 25-28s reloads (and germans similar), while Nagato had datashowing goin 2-2,5 rounds per minute. Yamato had 30s reload. To be fair they recently started to hold somewhat real life values with reloads (again after rusky/french bb's) and build the ships around gun/firepower and thats nice to see.
To be fair i do think in last 2 years you see more scrubs and low WR clown (i mean ppl with 20% ect and 10-20k avg dmg in tier 10's) sitting in high tiers thanks to all present tier 8/9/10 premiums and premium cammos given for free then in medium tiers like 5-6-7. No to talk about seen in last 2 weeks (ranks also) players with 300-500 game accounts sitting in tier 8-10 with premium ships/CV's
The ship has Japanese dispersion, meaning compared to US (Standard dispersion) it gets better accuracy at long range but worse at short range, which the sigma of just 1.5 does not help. Sigma actually means A LOT in japanese ships, because your dispersion does not increase as linearly as, for example, the US Battleships. think of a Russian dispersion pattern reversed, meaning you hit better at long range, but there you have a huge spread anyway due to high sigma. On the contrary, below 11km your dispersion becomes absurd and that 1.5 sigma makes things even worse. you always shoot in the general direction of the target without much hopes for aiming at weak spots. this is why this ship NEEDS good RoF compared to, for example, Florida. This is also why Kii and Amagi are not good ships compared with Alabama dna NC. Gun's trajectory is pretty lobbed, meaning the vertical dispersion is good, but the very slow shells and the meh penetration can be difficult to manage at the ranges where the ship should perform better, and you have to resort to HE a lot, particularly when uptiered and those days when the RNG says NOPE!
Statistics on the servers indicates that this ship is quite balanced as it is compared to similar BBS at the same tier: play 50 battles in this ship instead of just a couple and you'll change idea on how "good" it is.
meme ship
I don't know, I just can't hit shit with this ... the dispersion and sigma are like WTF - everything flies everywhere cuz of the vertical dispersion
No offense to the excellent Fuso footage (I love mine, it's the first ship I kept even after moving on along the tech tree), but to me the highlight of the video is figuring out there's a "fog thickness" throttle...
GG .. you make me sick .. i am bei Konko ... i am impressed with stream game
Tashkent II: T-61 bogaloo
I think what makes this ship really easy to play is that you can actually deal with tier 8 relatively well. The range and 12 guns are enough to often just survive with HE. And when you are top tier you just clap everyone.
The ship is trash, powerful guns on paper construction, whatever hits you you lose 20k hp, you get hit by one 1 shell you burn for 20K, vs tier 8 ur just like fly to t8 bbs, to use all 6 guns you have ti give your trash broad side and risk getting burned or chunk for 20k dmg
Fuso super structure is taller than Burj Khalifa
Imagine being early.
131th like
i need some help
this ship fells horrible. gets eaten alive by everything and horrible dispersion
Mid-tier cruisers don't have heals? RN CL/CA lines and the Graf Spee want to have a word with you...
Fuso is not just "powerful" its fucking overpowered for T6...
Nothing will have a good reload anymore, Soviet 33 seconds will be the best soon Komrade, Then will come reload standardisation Da 🕵️♂️💂♀️🕵️♀️
"fuso has 1.5 sigma, lowest value you can get in game"
laughs in italian BB's 1.3 sigma.
WG really doesnt want that line to be fun lol
It’s a awesome ship untill you get uptiered😂
*sees arp kirishima* - "okay here we have a weeb kongo..."
*goes back to port* - half your captains are anime characters XD
Those camping players who have no idea how to play are more and more in t10. You get the ships too fast.
I've never played on PC but I've been playing on Console all day every day for a year now (so since early access) and I drop big turds on Fusos all day every day. 🤣
I actually loled when you said "you have some of the best armor."
T7 and Legendary (T8-10 pretty much) is straight cancer. Way to many people who enjoy eating paint chips for me.
Gonna have to disagree with you on this one. The video is a year old and I believe before the commander rework. After the commander rework this ship is awful. Dispersion is like firing buckshot and hoping a few hit where you were aiming. It consistently gets overpens. AA seems to be the worst in tier. It's armor is only good if you are bow tanking. If you are angling you will get penned. I can work with all it's flaws as long as my shells can hit their target, but they don't. It isn't even close. It's like spinning a roulette wheel everytime you fire your guns.
