    Simracing is difficult. Learning how to drive fast takes time, dedication and persistence. Assetto Corsa Competizione is one of the best simulations with highly sensitive aerodynamics that want to be respected. Telemetry, such as motec helps with analyzing car behavior and finding major issues in the car setup or driving style. Special sim racing hardware also helps with becoming better, but certainly is not the solution to your problems. Load cell pedals offer better feel. Stronger but most importantly more detailed force feedback of e.g. direct drive wheels offer more immersive sensations. Though I know and I've seen throughout the years, people with entry level hardware perform on top level.

    Super Guide Nils. Wer wenig Erfahrung hat findet hier richtig viele Informationen und Anhaltspunkte.
    Man muss fairerweise sagen, dass die Nordschleife erstmal eine grundlegende Abstimmung vom Auto voraussetzt ansonsten wird es für viele Anfänger frustrierend, wenn sie es mit Basis- oder vermuksten Setups versuchen. Als ich sie in ACC das erste Mal gefahren bin waren 8:30 nur mit Mühe zu schaffen. Das Auto ist gesprungen, hat untersteuert, schlecht gebremst, oder wilde Snaps an der Hinterachse bekommen.
    Ordenlich Rake, Federrate runter, Dämpfer an zwei drei Slidern mal um 15 Punkte geklickt (also schon drastische Unterschiede zum Standard) und schon waren es 8:15 also direkt -15 Sekunden nur durch ein paar Klicks ins Blaue ... aha doch nicht zu blöd zum Fahren!
    Das war dann mein Basissetup von dem ich mich nach unten gearbeitet habe, weil man damit die Passagen so wie in deinem Video fahren konnte, halt teilweise mit etwas weniger Schwung.
    Unter 8:11 komme ich allerdings noch immer nicht mit meinem Setup. Egal, macht dennoch Spaß.

    Free nordschleife data pack is actually incredible. We could not ask for more. Not to mention this is a really good nordschleife track guide and in just 1 hour! Also love your commentary - Don't lift! YOU WILL DIE! :D

    You got the best track guides, if the viewer has the time. Maybe a bit much for the most casual drivers, but very much worth it for anyone trying to push their lap times down.
    One thing I've noticed is that quite often the "pro break markers" actually work well for me as well, because I don't have quite the entry speed to the corners so they balance each other quite nicely.

    As someone who has many many laps around the green hell I thought I knew it but ACC version has so many little details. Amazing guide plus with the Porsche sets hopefully I can get below the 8:20 mark soon. Cheers Nils

    Thanks Nils - This track is intimidating. Your guide will help as I slowly get to grips with this very unforgiving monster. I think in the long run I will very much enjoy it as once I get a track down I'm super consistent. But this one will take time.

    Nils amazing guide! When you brake in a tight corner. Is the initial braking very hard then trail off slightly? For me it’s trying to slow down and get the trail braking right. The car was to oversteer out of the corner or basically going to wide coming out.

      Setup makes a huge difference in that corner for me. I need an understeery setup there, if it's pointy and good elsewhere before that on the lap, then it's 50-50 killing me in that corner. With a good, stable setup I have confidence to go through there, even though the car will always be moving around due to the small undulations during the corner.

    Moin Nils,
    zu dem Curb bei 13:00 bzw. dem Bump dahinter hab ich schon öfters von Rennfahrern gehört, dass man den curb ganz extrem nehmen soll oder gar nicht und man dadurch dann dieser Bodenwelle ausweichen kann. Habe das auch selber schon etwas probiert, aber frage mich wie sich das bei den top Fahrern widerspiegelt. Für mich funktioniert das, aber inwiefern verliert man dadurch potenziell Zeit?

    great video. Lots of valeuable informations for a casual driver like me. I've not had much success in the last few days running ACC/Nord. I was better on AC/Nord (understood the circuit better) so definetely this is of great help....... by the way would you be willing to sell me , say 10 - 15% of your driving talent 😈 not your soal just 10 -15% ?     Ist das Setup auch empfehlenswert für die Nordschleife Permit der LFM? Man müsste natürlich mehr tanken, damit es für 3 Runden reicht. Ansonsten super cooles Video, bei dem viele Detailfragen geklärt werden, über die viele andere gar nicht sprechen. 😁👍

      it's on purpose. I can't share M4 for free without taking away from other creators on the platform.
      that's a compromise we could do. the lines and timings for inputs (for the most part) however in any car are really the same, so whatever you drive you can still compare to the M6 data

    Man, I'm really struggling to figure out how to tune setups all of a sudden. I made one for the M4 at Nürburgring 24H which was pretty sensible - soft but not overly soft, low-ish rake and wing, moderate bump stop ranges so there isn't too much pitching forward on the brakes etc. The front aero variation is -3%. But it seemed to struggle a lot with high speed understeer, like at Flügplatz where I'd have to back off the throttle to around 220kph or even lower on a fast track. I lose a lot at Mutkurve too. I then tried a generic meta setup with everything super soft but with max wing and 94-70mm ride height, and the aero variation isn't much higher at -2.6%, but I can do more like 230-233kph through Flügplatz with max fuel even before the tyres are up to temp. It's easier to drive *everywhere* too, even though I thought super soft meant unstable and therefore was only suited to aliens. The rear bump stop range is maxed, the front ARB is maxed, the wing is maxed and the preload is at minimum, but I can somehow rotate more *on* the throttle. I thought maybe the difference was from the lower rear toe or something instead...
    So I just took my setup and simply set the ride height to 94-70mm and the wing to max, with nothing else changed. It still does 230kph+ through Flügplatz with max fuel 😂 I went down even more to 90-70mm ride height with max wing so the aero variation was even farther back at -3.3%, and I was still going 10kph faster than I did with low wing. I went back to my setup but reduced wing down to 2 with the ride height at 77-70mm meaning the aero variation was identical to the softer setup at -2.6%, so there should be even less understeer, but I still had to slow down to about 220kph.
    This doesn't make any sense. I'm turning in and lifting at the same point (the lower wing doesn't really increase top speed much), but it just won't rotate at the same speed. I swear max wing shouldn't even make sense on the Nordschleife anyway? The M4 isn't exactly unstable at high speed with low wing... it just won't turn 🥴 surely rake shouldn't have more of an impact than wing at higher speeds, especially if the low wing setup has less rear downforce?
    Am I just being stupid and missing something really obvious here? Because I was under the impression that low wing = centre of gravity moves forward = less high speed understeer. Thanks for being patient with my stupid, confused noob rants lol. I'm getting faster, starting out struggling to set valid laps and hanging around the 8:26 mark with full fuel to more like 8:15, and being more consistent with it. But I don't know how to optimise my setup if it seems to be doing the opposite of what I thought.

      @@SimracingPopometer thanks man. I thought the BMW was unusually balanced with its weight distribution towards the middle compared to other front engine cars though, so it's more agile? I tried the Mustang for the first time earlier and... wow. It felt horrible 😂 it makes the AMG feel like a dainty ballerina.
      As you alluded to in that Mustang video, the rake is going to impact lower speed stuff more. That's what I thought I understood already. The BMW feels great everywhere except for the highest speed corners, where it's more understeery unless I use 20mm+ rake and max wing. It's just weird 😔 I thought maybe toe, bump stop ranges or preload were having an effect, but then I simply changed aero on the same base setup and the same thing happened anyway. How on Earth do you lose 15kmh in a fast corner with 2 or 3 rear wing rather than 8? Is my game broken? Lol it's bizarre and really frustrating as I thought I was getting more comfortable setting cars up perfectly for me.

      @@SimracingPopometer I don't get what I'm misunderstanding tbh. Wouldn't *rear* downforce make high speed cornering slower? That should make the car lean towards a more understeery bias at high speed because the centre of pressure is going back?

    I get it but some of us didn't ever take the time to learn the GP, so "let's skip a couple of corners" after the literall 2nd one just doesn't make me stick to this. Trully a "Full" track guide.

      and the other problem is: had i done the GP track, most other people would've jumped off as they already know that part. a truly impossible task for me

    Is something that , I don't know maybe it was me but when you ask for money like you do , you are going to push away your fans , don't give me wrong I like your videos and I have learned from them but please, don't say " give me your money" at the end of the video, you know your donations are made so why ... Thank you and forgive me if I expressed myself the way I felt

      You just watched a free 1 hour long video, which took him time and effort to make (not to mention sharing knowledge and insight from his experience). Are you sure it’s a good idea to go ahead and complain about him making his time and effort a business?

      Wenn du das Video startest, siehst du, dass es über eine Stunde geht. In so einem Format nimmt man sich die Zeit, Dinge ausführlich zu erklären, auf Details einzugehen oder Kontexte ordentlich zu erklären oder herzuleiten. Was hast du erwartet? Ist halt kein Short.
