Sad this series is over. Thanks for taking us on this adventure with your family.
I am a loss to express adequately my appreciation for this extraordinary series. It was both wondrous and educational. The many highlighted stops were fascinating and I am so grateful you publicized such a great segment of Americana. Safe Travels!!!
I love the random wave from the person on the Hollywood walk of fame
Man can't believe this trip is over. Was an amazing journey. Thanks for taking us along. Please do another journey type trip again.
Thank you J D for allowing me to join your family trip across the US on Route 66. It has made it a trip that I will definitely be doing soon. 😊
This has been an epic journey to watch. Thanks for bringing us with!
Hi J.D.,
Just finished watching this last episode on Route 66. Thoroughly enjoyed it , as well as the rest of the videos in this series.
I grew up in Fontana, CA, just west of San Bernardino. I have passed by the Wigwam Motel more than once there in San Bernardino over the years. I now live in Victorville. I am only about 12 miles from the Route 66 museum here. It would have been a real pleasure to meet you and your family, but I know that you had to keep to your schedule. I hope you all make it back home safe.
Thank you and your family again for the great videos, and please express my sincere “thank you” to your family for being willing to share you and your time with the rest of us who watch your channel!!
Thanks! I appreciate that.
SPECTACULAR . This is the best road trip I have ever watched. Sad to see it end. Well done JD.
Winner, winner chicken dinner! 😂 😆 😂. How much fun! Thanks J D for letting us travel along with you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔🐔
This has been a great series and I'm sorry to see it close. Thanks for all your efforts.
Thanks JD!!!! What an awesome trip!!! America still has a lot of history and wonderful places to visit!!! Keep traveling and always be safe!!!!
Just a simple Thank You and your family for the time, memories and SMILES...
Sad to see it end. Thank you for a great adventure.
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a epic adventure on Route 66 from the start of Chicago all the way to the finish line of Los Angels.
Brother, never stop doing these videos. They have always been good, and they keep getting better. One of the most informative, interesting, and relaxing series of videos ever. Well done.
RT66 in San Bernardino is where Sammy Davis Jr. lost his eye in an auto accident. I rode RT66 last year on my motorcycle. Very much enjoyed your content. Great memories.
Thank you for this series. Our family is planning a trip down Route 66 for our next family vacation simply because this series.
Awesome!
The “Cozy Cone” is what they used as the Wigwam. “Gettin’ a little cozy at the cone is we?”😂😂😂😂
As a kid, my parents loaded 4 kids into our station wagon and drove us from our home in from Kern County to visit my grandparents in the south on Route 66. I dreaded the drive as a child but as an adult, I now appreciate all the memories with family and the neat things to stop and see along the way.
My family took a 3 week road trip from St. Louis to California in the early 60s. I remember so much of what you seen in your travels. We went to Disneyland and visited my relatives in LA. We took a side trip to Tombstone and the car threw a fan blade. We were stranded for 3 days in Bisbee AZ. We have 8mm movies of the trip.
A very fascinating ride, JD!! Thanks so much!
I just love John Wayne too. My favorite is McClintock. This has been a wonderful series. I'm planning my trip right now 🎉
JD, thank you for the 66 trip. You should do the Lincoln highway (30) sometime. Thanks again. Stay humble.
You have done a wonderful job taking us along with you. Thank you!
The Route 66 travel is really cool except for many miles of it that are no longer passable. Its a shame that the iconic routes have been left to such disrepair. THANK YOU JD. Youre a National Treasure Preservationist.
Thank you for taking us with you, JD! Enjoyed this series so much. Hope to take our kids someday.
JD, now you have to go back to Chicago and stop in the places you didn't stop in on the way west. HA!! Seriously, this was an excellent series and I liked how you opened it with Bob Waldmire and closed it with him. I really liked watching "The Founder" about how Ray Kroc bought McDonald's and shrewdly drove the McDonald brothers out of business. I watched it shortly after it was released while flying on an airplane in the middle of the night because I couldn't sleep in those tight seats (and I'm a small person).
Looking forward to what you have next for us. Again, excellent work, JD. I subscribed during the Gettysburg series and haven't been disappointed in the least.
Loved your trip! I need to do that soon.
👏👏👏👏👏 BRILLIANT trip JD.Thank you so much for taking me with you. I have to admit the artwork of Bob Waldmire was the thing that sparked my interest. Here in UK this is vintage American stuff. Love US history - it’s so ‘new’ compared to ours here in UK. Again great work. ❤❤❤❤
Many thanks!
Thank you for taking us with y'all!
An absolutely awesome journey! Thanks for letting us ride shotgun!!
Glad to share the experiences. Thanks!
Back in the late 50s early 60s we took a family road trip every summer and I’m glad that your family was able to come with you on this trip as well
Thank you for the worlds best road trip. This has been so much fun. Have truly enjoyed ever second of it. It’s been so much fun traveling Route 66. I’m definitely going back and binge watch this trip again. 🤠👍
Me too!!!
Appreciate that!
Absolutely loved going on this road trip with you! You always have great videos and this series was no exception! Thank you for taking us along!
I feel like I just ended a trip. This was a really great series. As much as I enjoy a good battlefield, I think Route 66 is my favorite of all your videos
Another great series JD 👍 I know there's more you didn't have time for, but you hit a lot of the best spots. Enough to get people out there to check it out for themselves.
JD thank you for taking us with your family, we sadly never made it all the way along the route, this was the nect best thing. Thank you again.
Nice job JD! Very much appreciated this journey with you… you are like family and a great American! 🇺🇸
I appreciate that!
End of the road😢 This is your best ever, brought back so many memories. My family traveled this road from the late 40’s to the early 60’s. So where to next JD!?!?!😊
I had an ABSOLUTE blast too JD!! A million thank yous dear man!!!👏👏👏
Sad to see this journey come to an end, but loved being able to travel along with you and your family. I am impressed with all of the series you have put together, JD, never a dull moment in any of your videos and I always learn something. Wish I could make this trip in person but my age no longer allows, so thanks to you and your channel. Now, to get back to Hitler and WWII, the series that introduced me to you.
Thanks for the memories of my 15 years on the Mother Road.
Thanks for sharing your epic road trip with us, I enjoyed it immensely!

Thanks again.
You are without doubt hands down keeping history alive without show doubt belong on landmark. Keeping history alive. Thank you for your service and dedication to this channel and your family takes allot putting this together thanks not enough.
Love your vids Dude! Did 66 from Dwight Ill to Santa Monica in 2001. It was a great trip! I made a few short term 66 trips before that starting in 97! I was blessed to meet a few 66 originals, one being Ernie Edwards of the PigHip in Broadwell, IL!, He was a character! He invited us into his house just to chat! Also, a nice locksmith with a bunch of Studebakers in front of his shop somewhere in MO, he gave us a couple of blank keys as souvenirs! I met Bob Waldmire a couple of times, and then met Michael and Suzanne Wallis at the Blue Swallow Motel in Tucamcari, NM! All just regular people living there lives, but with a great passion! Great 66 memories!!!!!
Dude you stumbled onto something great here! This is a great series and there are plenty of other routes in the US that you could cover. Thanks!
Thanks! I’ve got some other ideas.
This has been a great series JD! Thank you for taking us along for the journey.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.
Had a great time traveling Route 66 with you. Thanks for the ride.
Traveling this route if you've come to look for America, you found it! And when you got to California you found something else- very beautiful. This was a great series. Thank you!
This was so good.
Thanks for taking us along JD!!
Those trailers are making a comeback.
Pretty cool.
Thanks J.D. God bless you brother this was fantastic!!✌️🇺🇲
I have always wanted to take this trip I’ve enjoyed watching this thank you so much for sharing this with everyone
This series has been spectacular! Loved the adventure 🇺🇸🇺🇸
I love the Otto Mo Bill guy at the museum you went to - now that's something you don't see every day as something that greets you at the door of a museum. The fact that that thing is made of different pieces and parts of whatever it's made of is pretty freaking awesome (love it though because whoever made it is a very creative person!!). That aside, I'm so happy that you did this series because I've learned a lot about things in our country that I didn't even know existed - especially since they exist on this famous road. Thanks for doing this series!! I can't wait to see what you're going to post next - especially when it comes to the GMOH and the GMOH annex (love the videos about the GMOH and the annex!!)!!
That was such an awesome series! Nothing out there screams Americana like Route 66. Looking forward to taking this trip with my gang!
I am “66” and I really enjoyed the journey. I worked at McDonalds 50 years ago. Working for McDonalds as a 16 year old was a great experience.
Big thanks for that very nice trip on the 66 very nice work
Another great series. Well done! I’ve traveled about 90% of Route 66 by car, and in the 80’s. I’d love to do a motorcycle trip on it now. ❤️🤙🏻🇺🇸
Well done JD! Well done.
Thank you for everything you do. Such a epic journey
JD, this was the very best series and full of nostalgia. Being in my 70s, this brought back a lot of memories, and I thoroughly enjoy it. I'll be looking forward to the 100th anniversary road trip. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!
Yeah the state and federal governments take that stuff pretty seriously. I work in the oil and gas industry and believe me, there are cameras everywhere. Plus it’s a huge liability if someone gets hurt. Tank farms, substations, bridge supports, basically anything related to critical utilities, best to just stay away. Great video series though, you showed us some things in my home state of Oklahoma that I haven’t seen yet, many thanks.
Thank you so much I have really enjoyed your journey on Route 66 ❤❤
Loved every minute of your odyssey!
Great job JD. I was stationed at George AFB in the 90s and worked on F-4G wild weasels in Victorville. Great job.👍👍👍👍👍
This whole series was fantastic! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Glad you enjoyed it!
The Bottle Ranch needs a good rain! ;) & regardless of what one thinks about McDonalds; it truly represents how The American Dream works!
Excellent Series❤
Had a great time watching your travels, thanks
This has been such a fun series! I'm so glad you took us with you. As for Williard Scott, he was a local Washington, DC guy that made good. He was doing local radio and TV in the DC area when he did a kids show as Bozo the Clown. I remember him as such (gee, I'm really aging myself!), and then, according to Wikipedia he is the one who created Ronald McDonald. He went to an opening of a local McDonald's as Bozo and it was such a hit that they asked him back. The Bozo show ended and he couldn't use the Bozo costume anymore so created the Ronald McDonald character. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willard_Scott). While doing all this he was a local weatherman on TV. He ended up being a weatherman on The Today Show. He was a much loved character in the DC area.
I have enjoyed this trip very much. I took the same trip in1961 when we moved😊
Thank you JD on this, to use your words, "cool as heck" series on Route 66👌🙂 Paul (my husband) & I just loved watching this series and we learnt so much. Thank you for taking us along for the ride with you 😊
Thanks for ANOTHER great series.
Well observed!!😊
Hiya JD👋🏻🫵🏻
Awesomeness 🫡🇺🇸
A few years back now I went to LA on vacation from the UK & went to the official end of Route 66 ☺️
Great times
🇬🇧🫶🏻🇺🇸
Thank you for a fantastic series !
Thanks!
Horse with no name, great choice of music crossing the desert!
Seemed appropriate :)
Called it!!!! I said John Wayne the minute you said Hollywood Stars!
😅
What a beautiful series. As well as the fascinating nature of the material, it’s really nice to imagine the golden memories you all have been making for yourselves.
My only complaint, I still get to have the end of holiday bummed-out feeling, and I haven’t been anywhere.
It was worth it tho ✊
Glad you enjoyed it! I’ll be doing this trip again for the 100th anniversary.
@@TheHistoryUnderground better make that Blue Swallow booking well in advance 😃
Great series. Thanks 🙏 so much!
I’ve been on Rt 66 in parts of all 8 states (all of Ks.) but you showed me new stuff I had yet to see. Thank You.
I watched all of these shows! Thanks!
Very enjoyable, many thanks.
I so enjoyed the trip down Route 66. Yhank you
This was great. Thank you very much.
Fantastic Series JD!!!
Thank you!!!
Thanks for bringing us along on this trip! The McD stop was nice and it brought back so many childhood memories. I bought a bunch of the 50 cent box of cookies as a end of the year gift for friends with my allowance money. Looking forward to what future episodes you'll bring.
Thank you JD. This tour was so so entertaining. Really relaxing and educational watch. Pure perfection.
It's been a great series JD!
Thanks for taking us along for the ride!!
That was a very enjoyable series! While at the T-pee hotel, I was surprised to see U-Hall trucks. With the number of people fleeing California, you'd expect that place to be empty! 😅
OUTSTANDING!!!!
Thanks!
Thanks for the video 😊
My pleasure 😊
I could watch you making this journey again! Save up a couple years, and start in California then head east! It would be interesting if you visited all the other interesting places you couldn’t or the perspective/view heading the other direction.
Just an amazing trip. I've so enjoyed traveling along with you. Thank you very much ❤😊
Thanks for taking us with you along this great route!
Beeing German I also worked at MC Donalds in the mid 80s as I was 18... money needed for my driving licence and first motorbike. A Lot of GIs came to the restaurant, as some bases were in the surroundings (Darmstadt).
Excited to see what comes next.
Thank You for this swell trip along route 66 !!! I hope my wife and i can visit 66 in 2026 . PS i sure enjoy your site for ALL!!! the places you go to. So Long from Canada - 8/25/2024 🤠
This series has been a lot of fun. Learned a lot to.😊😊😊
