i honestly love the ending so much. it looks as if Peter is going to lie on the bed and Leah would climb over top but it slowly transitions into something different. it proves that we were all "picturing love" to be like that👏👏
La Siren I wonder if it counts to still love them whe you forgot them for probably a couple years and then find out that your birth month just is the name of it and then start to regret that you couldn't really remember the name for all of those years except maybe now, so would that actually count or something?
My ex hated it when I played this song... She was cheating and I had no idea... But she thought I knew and got pissed when I played this... Lol... Crazy times
I love the whole "I undress in seven steps" part. It's like meticulously planning out the moments that should be completely passionate and raw, like sex, but because you've been "picturing" it for so long, you want to come across as beautiful and sexy as what you've seen, which is unrealistic and fake.
"Pornstar" Leah's scenes where she strips off her wig? Brilliant. Visually, the makeup smear is as powerful as the reaching of the hand and rejection in Beck + Call I love that all three videos so far have been such incredible art pieces.
Yeah, the part where she's standing on the couch "Strike a pose", and looks like she's jerking off and then she delivers the money shot onto his open mouth. Brilliant.
And yet, here you are, watching this video, instead of something else. Here, have a hug. You clearly don't get enough positivity in your life. Me, I'll go back to enjoying performance art from a band that cares more about their fans than 99% of artists ever will. Cheers!
What the hell is Dustin talking about? Sure, there are bands that are more artsy, that make more complex music with more nuanced ideas. But, not every band has to be like that. A lot of people are just looking to jam to something when they put a track on, and July Talk has that appeal to them AS WELL AS deeper commentary on things like sex and gender norms. You could say that July Talk is just another indie rock band, but the truth is that the band knows what they are and decides to pack as much punch with it as possible, and they do a fucking great job with it. And that's just as big of an achievement as more experimental bands that Dustin likes to listen to.
I would bet money that he's the guy Leah and Peter reamed out in Buffalo for yelling "show us your tits" or a similar buffoon who's bitter AF. Click report, pay him no further attention.
I am so in love with this band and this video! saw them in Montreal last week and the put on the best show. such raw and true performers, I felt very privileged to see them on stage
Really awesome cinematography!! I'm guessing one of the band members conceptualized this one? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that two of them went to school for film studies way back when.
One of my favorite music videos. The song is amazing and the video brings it to a better light than my imagination could have. Well done. ‘I Undress in 7 steps’ the second time, haunts me. I Love This!!!!
and people say tom waits' voice was a rip-off off captain beefheart. go listen to waits' earliest stuff, he didn't sound gravelly. it was an affect that eventually he couldn't remove. i love tom waits. this dude's voice has similarities, but they're two distinctly different singers. peter is an angsty rock and roller with a piercing gaze. tom waits is a mad carnival barker yelling at people through a megaphone. the similarities are superficial. tom waits' voice is infused with melancholy, drunken manic joy, strange sounds and made-up words. peter's voice is so much more direct, so much more stripped down, without any of the razzledazzle that makes waits such a distinct performer and vocalist. peter takes his 'gravelly old man voice' (as leah called it) and projects it with a severe stare onto the landscape of our emotional relationships, of how we relate to ourselves and others, and how it's been twisted. picturinghub. that's so good. swordfishtrombones is one of my favourite albums but it sounds nothing like this. waits is just plain *weird* on that one. there's nothing weird about peter here. he's just raw and direct. i love them both.
WOW where have I been, heard July Talk numerous times on the radio, and at 61 yrs young had my first live experience at Osheaga Montreal last Sunday, well Peter & Leah and the band blew me away...
Everywhere I look I see you making a caustic remark. Do you have some issues, perhaps a personal dispute, with this band? Because that's what it looks like.
ManinManchester you could not have asked that question in a better fashion. I'm sick of people hating on music - especially when the hater makes it seem like they should decide what music should exist. just love and respect the art
As a person currently in love with a camgirl, this is absolutely astounding. You guys are tackling modern problems in coherent and absolute manner. Fuck this is awesome.
Bring this rawness back please! Latest songs are too lovey dovey - people want pain, hate, love all in one. This is the song that hooked me, bring em all back!
Finally saw them live for the first time last night at a small venue near downtown Phoenix and it was one of the best nights of my life, and definitely the best live show I've ever been to. Thanks for coming to town!
Hubby & I just found July Talk this week and already big fans of their music, we dance for fun to their songs daily now!! ❤️ Sending love from Florida!
Not sure why, but my appreciaiton for this song goes up by 100% every time I watch this video. Also, it was a helluva opening track to the newest album.
Art is subjective. Everyone has its own perception about it. If you don't like the video please don't call us nuts...just watch something you like. Have a good day :)
Saw them last night at Massey Hall, i've been going to concerts there since 1971 and have never seen everybody standing/dancing on the floor and in both balconies. Excellent show..
Their videos are definitely an integral part of their music. It's not enought to just listen to them - you have to watchem too, in order to fully appreciate the art.
I like a lot the July Talk. Energy, power, feeling e very much in your musics. You should show more your job. I belive too many more will like know it.
Connor Caughlin yeah they played in the House of Blues October 3rd here in Dallas that's when I saw them live. The official tour dates were the 2nd in Austin the 3rd in Dallas the 7th Houston and 9th in Austin again. I wish I went to more than one but I'm still glad I saw them live.
The one and only music group that has a video that adds to their creativity, over and over again. July Talk is epic. Tried buying one ticket in November 2021 and not suggesting they're not worth $178 but their brilliance is sadly unaffordable.
Wow 😱 son fenomenales desde que la primera vez k lo escuché no la puedo sacar d mi mente simplemente maravilloso todo el mundo debería escuchar este grupo que está excelente 👏🏻👍🏻❤️
Another great video from July Talk (happy to see the use of B/W is continued). I'm curious, were the photos on the wall in the final scene alternate images that were considered for the cover of the new album?
I still refuse to believe that this voice is coming out of that man.
Not gonna lie, I pretty much imagined him with scruffy hair & a beard.
I expected him to look like Bruce Springsteen. But this is the exact reaction I had with Coheed and Cambria (watch a favor house Atlantic by cac)
He is tired of picturing love . That's why .
I sound the same the day after a bottle of Jack Daniels and 80 cigarettes 😝
I've met him. No less jarring in person.
WHY IS THIS NOT MORE POPULAR??!?!??!?!
It's brand new? :S
I guess he/she meant the band. They are 'building' at it. They recently won a part of the Europe crowd towards there fan-base
sdfgsdfg they are kind of popular in Québec.
They're quite popular here in Alberta.
sdfgsdfg popular in Toronto that's where they are from, but they are new (formed in 2012)
He somehow looks simultaneously exactly like I expected him to look and nothing like I expected him to look.
Johnny Alias nailed it! Same for me
Yes irssa love Kara bssie no
Sometimes when I was looking like that the Kitty looked at me like she wanted in.
Same! I thought it would take at least another 20 years of cigarettes and whiskey to earn that voice.
Not for me. I just expected him to look nothing like this.
Saw them live and they got crazy energy
After watching this music video i wouldnt doubt that lmao.
Mikael thumper irssa love yes
Yes irssa Kara bssie no irsabllkeac love irssa Kara bssie peis irssa Kara bssie irssa love 100009
Yes irssa mkilsyl love 1000
They are the best live , would go see them again for sure
i honestly love the ending so much. it looks as if Peter is going to lie on the bed and Leah would climb over top but it slowly transitions into something different. it proves that we were all "picturing love" to be like that👏👏
😢😢😢😢😢
You got it
I need to know what the tiny hole is in his shirt she puts her finger into. Details, so hot!
words can't even describe how much i love this band
|-/
Glad I'm not the only one that likes panic! fob TØP and July talk lol
ashley ! |-/ yess another person who likes, panic! Fob, and tøp
ashley ! |-/ those bands are winey emo shit
Will pictures?
This band is all energy. If you haven't seen them live yet, you are severely missing out!
This music video is pure f**king brilliance in conveying its message.
god the bit where she's putting the wig & stuff in the backpack really gets to me
666
I fall in love with july talk everyday. I didn't think I could love anything this much ♡ great work
La Siren if you haven't already...check out Phantogram
and so different
La Siren I wonder if it counts to still love them whe you forgot them for probably a couple years and then find out that your birth month just is the name of it and then start to regret that you couldn't really remember the name for all of those years except maybe now, so would that actually count or something?
Great fucking band! Leaves me hungry for more every time!
Their ability to perform is outrageous!
This band is the epitome of Toronto’s art and music. Fascinating and brilliant
My ex hated it when I played this song... She was cheating and I had no idea... But she thought I knew and got pissed when I played this... Lol... Crazy times
The mirror/tv transitions are actually amazing.
the camera moves in this video are brilliant
The camera work in this video is incredible!
Goosebumps when she sings "you"
I heard this song on my spotify list while driving. July talk is quickly becoming one of my favorite groups.
I love the whole "I undress in seven steps" part. It's like meticulously planning out the moments that should be completely passionate and raw, like sex, but because you've been "picturing" it for so long, you want to come across as beautiful and sexy as what you've seen, which is unrealistic and fake.
Everything you've just said is perfect.
Emily Jones literally
... sounds like someone is ugly
Also could be a reference to Inanna undressing and the seven gates of Babylon but im a crazy person ignore me.
Brilliant take
Now and then a song comes on the radio and I just have to know , good times😎💋
Saw them last night in Minneapolis. Amazing as always.
This video deserves way more views. If you pay attention to the video, there are so many hidden messages. Well done guys!
I like the contrast, the difference, between the two singers' voices. It makes the woman's voice seem even better.
"Bad Blood" brought me here.Stayed for the music.Love this guy's Joe Cocker style growly voice.
Another great video to accompany another great song.
We love this band. That is all that is needed to be said.
Seeing them in concert won't ever be enough. They just keep getting better and I'm so glad I can see this band rise in the future.
Such a talented band. In production and live.
Probably the best cinematography I've ever seen on a music video. And fantastic song too.
This is their best music video yet. I absolutely love it!
Nice to see Angela and Dwight found time to pursue their artistic talents after the Office
"Pornstar" Leah's scenes where she strips off her wig? Brilliant. Visually, the makeup smear is as powerful as the reaching of the hand and rejection in Beck + Call
I love that all three videos so far have been such incredible art pieces.
Yeah, the part where she's standing on the couch "Strike a pose", and looks like she's jerking off and then she delivers the money shot onto his open mouth. Brilliant.
Art pieces? Are you fucking nuts. This is trite, kitsch, popular indie rock. There is nothing of artistic value here what so ever.
And yet, here you are, watching this video, instead of something else. Here, have a hug. You clearly don't get enough positivity in your life. Me, I'll go back to enjoying performance art from a band that cares more about their fans than 99% of artists ever will. Cheers!

The first time I saw them live at the Calgary Stampede, I was hooked. They're wonderful.
One of the band members directs all their videos...I'm sorry I cant remember which one
leah and peter this is just perfect. love this andyou guys! also please come to halifax again? east coast misses you!
ugghhh July talk simply is the most lovable band on earth !!
I love July Talk! The meaning behind this song is just made so much better with the cinematography, some of the best I've seen.
One of my favorite music videos. The song is amazing and the video brings it to a better light than my imagination could have. Well done. ‘I Undress in 7 steps’ the second time, haunts me. I Love This!!!!
Peter, his voice is super unique and amazing. Leah's vocals are a dime a dozen, but they do have a fantastic chemistry.
It's not unique you dumb fuck. Go listen to Tom Waits circa Swordfishtrombone, then you'll realise he's the opposite of unique - just a wanna-be goof.
William Eisner sounds a lot like tom waits
and people say tom waits' voice was a rip-off off captain beefheart. go listen to waits' earliest stuff, he didn't sound gravelly. it was an affect that eventually he couldn't remove.
i love tom waits. this dude's voice has similarities, but they're two distinctly different singers. peter is an angsty rock and roller with a piercing gaze. tom waits is a mad carnival barker yelling at people through a megaphone. the similarities are superficial. tom waits' voice is infused with melancholy, drunken manic joy, strange sounds and made-up words. peter's voice is so much more direct, so much more stripped down, without any of the razzledazzle that makes waits such a distinct performer and vocalist. peter takes his 'gravelly old man voice' (as leah called it) and projects it with a severe stare onto the landscape of our emotional relationships, of how we relate to ourselves and others, and how it's been twisted.
picturinghub. that's so good.
swordfishtrombones is one of my favourite albums but it sounds nothing like this. waits is just plain *weird* on that one. there's nothing weird about peter here. he's just raw and direct. i love them both.
Fantastic live band - can't wait to see them again
When i first heard this song on the radio i had to look it up and let me tell you, never would of guessed Peter looked like that lol.
Very unique sound this band will go far !!
WOW where have I been, heard July Talk numerous times on the radio, and at 61 yrs young had my first live experience at Osheaga Montreal last Sunday, well Peter & Leah and the band blew me away...
I will be 50 next year and this is the best band I have ever seen..period! **and I like to sing the Leah parts** haha
I like to sing the Peter parts
halfthiveye best lol
I like to sing the shitty parts, or the whole track in other words.
How are you doing four years later?
Caught this song on Canada Day’s Stingray list and I’m now hooked. Good stuff!

Not sure why, but my appreciaiton for this song goes up by 100% every time I watch this video. Also, it was a helluva opening track to the newest album.

Art? Are you fucking nuts. This is trite, kitsch, popular indie rock. There is nothing of artistic value here what so ever.
Art is subjective. Everyone has its own perception about it. If you don't like the video please don't call us nuts...just watch something you like. Have a good day :)
I always loved this beautiful song, really gets the hips moving.
cam I just say..... AMAZING!!! You guys did bang on... especially you Leah! I loved all your parts!
Great Band..one of the best concerts of my life was in N.B. Shout out from P.E.I.
He sort of looks like a handsome dark version of Steve Buscemi!
Saw them last night at Massey Hall, i've been going to concerts there since 1971 and have never seen everybody standing/dancing on the floor and in both balconies. Excellent show..
July talk and lumineers are what give my life meaning and their music is so different, it's incredible
Im so happy I got to see this band live today :D I love their music so much

that dudes voice is insane
Im insain bur what can you do about it lol
I just discovered this song today and I'm obsessed... I can't believe I didn't know this song existed sooner!!!!
Their videos are definitely an integral part of their music. It's not enought to just listen to them - you have to watchem too, in order to fully appreciate the art.
They are absolutely amazing
LOVE IT. You guys rock.
Best music video in Canadian music in years, truly sensational

The one and only music group that has a video that adds to their creativity, over and over again. July Talk is epic. Tried buying one ticket in November 2021 and not suggesting they're not worth $178 but their brilliance is sadly unaffordable.

Another great video from July Talk (happy to see the use of B/W is continued).
