Oh yeah. I remember seeing it on magazines and stuff everywhere. I remember the cover of Kids Highlights with the gal holding a can of bug spray on the cover. Remember seeing a Simpsons episode on it.

I was born in 97 however I always felt more connected to the 80s and 90s then the time I was raised in. From fashion to music and video games. All we had was an Atari and genisis. This song makes me happy in so many ways and because of that my fiance and I are using it as our recessional song for the wedding in may. We both have such an attachment to the things mentioned and imagery as well as the nostalgia the lyrics mention. Thanks for creating such an amazing relatable song~

We got up early on Saturdays for cartoons and toy commercials. Christmas was the epitome of our lives. We received less but it meant more. We mastered our video games, endured hours of trial and error. They defined our childhood and taught us persistance and problem solving like nothing else. We played multiplayer shoulder to shoulder with our friends.And we gathered in living rooms to watch others break new records.
No internet! No phones!
We had Tamagotchis in our pockets, tubes of pogs and slammers, Pokemon and Magic the Gathering decks.
Mix tapes could be made in a day and loved for a lifetime. Shared with others, and passed down like a time capsule of analog bliss. We listened to the radio all day and hit REC when our beat came on.
( I still have my Depeche Mode favorites) Wind breakers were the norm and rollerblades wernt dorky. Politics were something you just glanced at and forget. People could laugh at each other without taking offense. Political preferences rarely mattered outside the voting booth. And then the internet happened. We had Dial Up so 10 mins of logging in, and phones were down. But you got AOL instant messenger and we made new friends; Al Gores internet was shiny, young, and new. And for a time, it was good.
But then MySpace happened, the world got fake and malicious. 9/11 happened and everyone's world changed.
