- Hi all,
All product links are further down 😊 ⬇️.
Here is a video of me experimenting with a Labradorite effect. I absolutely love these! Again, you can do this with regular resin and it would probably work better when it comes to the scoring part, you will have less of the issues I had as the resin will bond much better.
As mentioned, here is the vid link which inspired me:

I am fully aware of the risks of working with resin products and aim to give you great tutorials in a safe way. I film in a very ventilated area and keep risks to myself low. I would always recommend you to wear full PPE based on the data sheets for the chemicals you are using 😊😊😊.

I do a labradorite effect but use interference mica powder.... pour small partial layers in mold and cure, burnish the layer with powder and scratch and simply repeat until mold is full.. I tilt the mold when curing so that the various layers are formed at different angles to add depth.
Awesome, would love to see them 😀
Sounds amazing. Would love to see those!!
Do u have a video on this technique?
I think these would be beautiful even without the scratches. I know the scratches are for the labradorite effect but I think I'll try this technique without scratching. Beautiful pieces.
I loved how these turned out, def want to try this. I love how you not only share creative ideas but you have the COURAGE to share your entire process from start to finish, when trying something new. I appreciate your willingness to be genuine and authentic! Watching your videos always make me feel like I’m right there with you, hanging out with a good friend. Thank you for that, all you do & the inspiration to get back to crafting. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much 🥰🥰🥰
Ah c'est vraiment super c'est tout à fait mon truc merci beaucoup j'adore❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wow, they looked great. I think they would look great even without the crack effect. Thanks
Another wonderful technique that I will be trying. And you are correct, my cats eye nail varnish is arriving today 😂. Thanks Daniel for sharing all of your work.
Yay! Have fun with it 😊 Thanks as always Mike 😊
Daniel I’m new to resin but loveing it . I’m loveing your crazy ideas . You rock x
That’s really clever Daniel. Your ideas are endless, honestly I always look forward to seeing what creation you’ll come up with next. Your such a creative artist. Thank you for sharing your talent! ❌☘️🥰
Thank you so much Andrea 🥰
Yes. He's partial genius lol 🎉
The colours look beautiful and I know you probably need the cracks for the effect you were trying but I prefer them without the scratches. I’ll try these though but without the scratches. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Outstanding, Daniel! This is very ingenious, I have never seen the pressing technique. I have some cabs from jewelry making, my husband used to cut and polish stones, so I have some nice specimens to try to replicate. Thank you for sharing your talents, and go through every step in such detail. You are such an unselfish artist!
Thank you very much! 😊😊
Lol nail polish ordered. I absolutely love these Daniel. Thank you so kindly ❤
Thanks Dale as always 😊
You're amazing! Love how these came out!
THAT. IS. AWESOME. I think i like these as much as the petri effects.
Thanks Angela 😊
I love the ideas and creativity on this. I never would have thought to use a razor blade to get those lines.
Thanks, just be super careful 😊
I don’t understand the scoring. What is the purpose?
@Shari Faina it just adds to the looks by giving lines. A lot of resin work doesn't have hard lines like these pieces, so it also makes them more unique. It's really just a matter of preference.
Love you copper bracelet. Also loved the video
Thank you 😊
Woo those are pretty! Even the “fails” work. The colors are just pretty.
You come up with the most interesting ways to do things. So beautiful!
Thanks Susan 😊
❤❤❤ A few looked like earth pic from the moon. Very effective and unique x
Oh my gosh, you are amazing I just love all your work!!!!
Thanks Anita 😊
Stunning, love your work and I start to do resin as well just because of your videos. Thanks for all your advices.
Thanks 😊
Ik isn't his ideas marvelous!!!❤🎉🎉
Out of the different resin artist I have seen, you by far are my favorite. Your videos are simple to follow and I have learned so much from you. Thank you for sharing your craft. 😃👍
🥰 thank you so much

Thanks Mike for the Super Thanks 😊
Ooohhh! I'm first AND this looks like a fun one! Thanks Daniel!
Yay! 😊😊😊 Very welcome 😊
Very unique idea. ❤ thanks for sharing
Thanks Maddie 😊 Very welcome 😊
Really beautiful! I love labradorite
Thank you 😊 Can't wait to crack the next one 😊😊
Hello so beautifull ! I want to try this . Thank you very much
Because you have the lovely gold…perhaps you could recreate Tiger Eye?
I will add it to my list 😊😊
Sooo very pretty!! The razor blade method is cool😊 may have to try this!!
Thanks Kelly 😊
Well if those are the coolest things! I have a gazillion of those glass cabochons… they come with the bezel cups I use for making bracelets, ear rings and pendants… sometimes I use them but most of the time I make my own with resin to have different colors fillers in them…. But these look so bloody cool that I may have to give them a go!
Thank you 😊 I literally have hundreds of different sizes and shapes stored away, so cool to be able to use them now 😊
@@daniel..cooper exactly! I hate throwing things away and have so many of them in little, bags ina box! Well, they gonna get used now! And if I could just get the wire wrapping thing down, I could make some cool pendant out of them!
These are amazing and fun!!!! ❤ my favorite of all times!
Amazing! You come up with some great creations 🤣
Thanks Carolyn 😊
Holy crap, how did I miss this?!? I LOVE Labradorite stone: it throws some of the loveliest blues and purples. I didn't know it sometimes had copper?! Maybe try scoring before the colors have completely dried, for less cracking?
These are very impressive, Dan! Gonna have to try them!
Thank you 😊 Yes, I will try that next time 😊🥰
You have won my crafting heart! Labradorite is my most favourite gem, I have lots of it and now I can make my own! Love it!!
Yay, thanks Anna 😊😊😊
Awesome
J'aime beaucoup vos vidéos, j'apprends plein de choses. Merci!
Thank you 😊
Idea fantastica, l'effetto pietra, ho dei cabochon in vetro, proverò sicuramente, grazie per la condivisione😍
Thanks 😊 Have fun 😊
Love your channel. It's like a science experiment every single time and I have learned so much. You are an Angel to the craft world with your authenticity and warm spirit. Thank you so much for helping me, to learn to better my craft.
Awesome. I believe you’ve definitely tackled this gemstone. I’d love to see you attempt a ammolite. I’ve recently fallen in love with that gemstone. ❤ your videos. Never cease to amaze and inspire me.
Thanks, I will add it to my list 😀
@@daniel..cooper I’ll definitely be looking for that. Much more vibrant like an opal is.
These are beautiful, love your videos 😍
Thank you 😊
Very nice! You are very talented
Thank you 😊
how gorgeous! very creative and innovative!! :D
Thank you 😊
Those nail polishes give such beautiful effects! 🦚🦚

Alright, it's official....you are by far my favorite Resin Dude! You share great techniques and your commentary is just right. I really enjoy watching you create. Side note on one of your past videos that used the Special FX Frost - I finally found a bottle online at some random shop I'd never heard of. They had a few bottles in stock so if anyone else was looking for them I can share the link. Thanks again for all the great videos!
Thank you so much 😊😊😊😊
Hello. Omg yes pls! I tried searching for that and couldn’t find any n gave up lol Not sure how long I searched for though 😅 Thank you!!
I love these they are amazing ❤
Thank you 😊
Beautiful. I have a thing for gem type stones.
I think if you used smaller amounts of color, you could imitate opal.
Thanks, yes, I'm still wanting to crack that one, I have tried a few times
Those are absolutely 💯 % BEAUTIFUL
Thanks 😊
Yay! Faux stones again and these are gorgeous! Thanks Daniel 😊
Thanks Tina 😊
I’ll be trying this one, just have to buy the glass cabs. Great results! Thanks
Thanks Gail 😊
Very cool!!!
Ok last comment lol I'm exited to try this! I've been thinking and thinking how to add colors. Suddenly these vids popped up and it's brilliant and not to mention gorgeous!!! Ty
These look effin awesome ❤❤❤
Thanks Mandi 😊
Genius! I love labradorite, they are gorgeous! 😍😍😍
Thanks Gulma 😊
Very cool! 👍🏾
Thank you Barbara 😊 🫂
This is similar to what we do with our dipping cabs in our acrylic paint pours. I’ve used a popsicle stick with some putty on the end for smooshing the cab into the paint. Then you don’t have to use your fingers. I like the look of these very stone like. Resin art is amazing.
Thank you 😊
Que hermoso ¡¡¡¡ gracias por compartir ¡¡¡
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the Super Thanks 😊
Awesome!❤
Thanks Dolli 😊
I love your videos! You come up with awesome ideas! I am busy collecting everything you use to make my own versions!
Thanks 😊 Be sure to use them all 🥰
Those sure are slippery little doggies😂
I'm impressed! Looks amazing! Like both, mica and nail polish! Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks Monica 😊
I know this is an old video but Gel polish doesn’t like to stick to smooth, shiny surfaces so maybe try just giving the back of the cabachone a light sanding, it might minimise the lifting/peeling when you do the scoring lines
Those are so amazing! The colors are really beautiful!
Thank you 😊
Super joli !!!
J'adore
Merci pour toutes ces vidéos Daniel 😉
Thanks 😊 Very welcome
Those are fabulous! I definitely will be trying this technique, thanks for sharing❤
Thanks Gale 😊
I feel like the black scratches in this video look more realistic than in the most recent one, mostly because they more irregular in thickness, and because of the cracks. You should also try not to run all the scratches from one edge to the other. In the real stones, finer scratches will begin in the middle of the stone from a thicker scratch.
The green and red one looks like ammolite
I love your channel!!! A thought I had about the scratches (since my artistic eye really dislikes the trapped air) was this: Could you put the 'scratches' down first with say...buttonhole thread pulled or placed across the back of the cab, saturated with black resin first, cured, then do the press? I would try it, but most of my art supplies are still buried in boxes packed in anticipation of a move that didn't happen recently.
Thank you, yes, I think that would work great 😊
Those are nice also, I wonder what the frost paint would do in those scoring marks?
Thanks Pam, I was thinking this a few days ago but haven't tried yet, I think it would work 😉
❤️
Beautiful. I don't k if I would do much scoring on this version. The last ones were not the powder? Thought they were the brightest? The 4th to last was beautiful. And see how the least scoring on these look better?
These are beautiful. Though if going for a natural look, the scoring should be random, not straight. Labradorite is one of my favourite stones.
I tried one like that and was so wonky, I couldn't stand it 🙈😂
It's personal preference 😂 I make gemstone jewelry, so love the random patterns that make pieces unique xD
Amazing🎉 I wonder, if you could put Angelina fibers and dichroic foil to a test? Maybe you 'd have some ideas to incorporate this in resin, like dichroic glass alternative. Greetings from Germany and thank you for sharing you knowledge! You are inspiring ❤
Thanks 😊 I will certainly look into it 😊😊
Didn't k there was black uv resin. Gtg some!!!
😍
❤👏
interesting
Thanks Tom 😊
I love this technique. Beautiful as always. Just wondering though if it would b possible to create this effect in the moulds, especially if u needed to make ur own cabochons anyway? Xx
Hi, I'm sure it would be but I think the pressing really helps the colors mix, I suppose you could still do it that way after the resin has cured 😊
Wonder what it would look like with gold flakes? Or guild gold around the side of the stone...
So we're those paints u added 2 the black or the powders?
Wonder if it will make opals
I will try soon 😊😊
Hi, I love good videos, what tool are you using to stir?
A Dotting Tool 😊😊😊😊
Would the colour shifting mica be good with yhat too?
Worth an experiment 😊
Could u use alcohol inks mixed with the resin instead o mica powder? Could u use the rainbow maribu ink also
Worth a try 😊 you will never know otherwise 😊
Have you tried that technique to make Opals?
Did you make the bracelet that your wearing in this video? It’s beautiful…❤
What is that magnet?🤔
It's a neodymium wand that comes in the cat eye set 😊
sent you a facebook message re the use of different magnets on this stuff.
Hi Simon, I haven't tried different magnets but will soon 😊
NM I see
