Ford Transit Custom NEW vs OLD - Full Walk-Through & Comparison

We've finally got our hands on the new shape Ford Transit Custom and are really excited to share our thoughts with you on this new model both good and BAD!

Got the new one, automatic version, prefer the old model, better looking for starters. Cab is infact bigger

Too much focus on everything being on a touchscreen instead of a tactile 'feel'.
Being 'modern' doesn't necessarily mean better.
Sounds like they've taken out quite a bit and replaced it with less.

Those back doors are 100% going to get blown in to traffic on a windy day.

well it wouldnt be too hard as a precaution to add a chain that cud be removed when wantin doors fully open !

Looks good and the led headlights are definitely an upgrade over the previous candles! The heating controls in a screen is definitely a backwards step to me. The rear door aperture looks to have more intrusion than the last one.

Thanks for the comment Barry, good to hear from you. There are definitely some dubious changes but also some great enhancements on the new model. Looking forward to getting our hands on a few more

what about ground clearence, for my usage its really important but i couldnt find any info about that.

Does it has a wet oil pump belt. Lots of transit engines failing due to wet belt problems

Looking forward to having the wind slam the rear door on my leg due to the removal of the safety stay. And that number plate light exposed housings just says "Cheap" and cosmetically is asking for an after market trim. Not a fan of electric hand brakes - not sure about the position of the switch either. Will probably miss the cornering/front fog lights. And that seat adjustment removal is a step backwards that I will miss. My biggest concern is have Ford finally made the custom more secure and harder to steal (Don't hold your breath). First impressions "MEH"

Why would you have a button on the back, water ingress will cause it fail and no longer get into the rear, the reverse camera that low will also cause it to grim up from all the muck and spray, why didn’t they put it up near the top, are the wiper stalks on the indicators like a merc. I hate in screen controls, takes your focus away and if you have grubby hands (builder) or wearing gloves will they be able to operate the screen
