There is a swedish game called Kutulu that is even more simplyfied concerning clue-finding. It is great.

I think that is a little to hand holdish. Beautiful book and the mechanics seem alright but guaranteed clue finding doesn’t give the anxiety or stress of failure.
Like I said. Beautiful book, great b&w art, love the newspaper column style of writing, but that sounds a bit weak for me. If others love it though, more power to them.

To be honest I am not a fan of the clue finding mechanic either, but I think they are looking for a more story driven game. Some people don't like to be slowed down by that pesky dice rolling of other games...they want answer now!
I mean...so do I, but a challenge is sometimes good.
