So basically apart from 2 parts you snapped yourself and some wear and tear on the seat badges there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. These things are solid. Ive had a few f models and all been solid.
I’m considering getting the f82 M4 with around 120k kms and wondering if you have any experience with maintenance with that many kms. I’m coming from a 335i and as much as I love the car so much it was at the garage more than I would like. So I just hope to get some advice on higher mileage M4’s
Absolutely. Contrary to popular belief, BMW's are actually quite reliable. Had two so far and both were so damn reliable compared to other car brands I've owned.
I have a 428i and I had a z4 and 328 and all of them was extremely reliable
@@pantherj62did you ever pull the trigger on getting a higher mileage F82 M4? I’ve been looking at higher mileage too since that’s all I could afford
Thank you 😂😂😂😂
The plastic clip in the trunk holds your trunk floor up for you, so you can access the storage underneath without having to hold the floor up with your hand.
The seat badge cracking is a known issue that a dealer should replace under warranty, most likely with the newer black badge that doesn't have the same issue.
The iDrive issue is also well-known, and is way more common with iDrive 6. The reset procedure usually fixes it, but not permanently in some cases.
I just took delivery of my 2022 G82 Comp last week, but I refuse to get rid of my 2018 F82 Comp which has been rock solid for nearly 5 years!
Thank you!
@@BeemerFam this happened to my 2015 F32. Living in Tempe, Az didn’t know there was others w this issue w the idrive system reset.
Also if resets sometimes Bluetooth doesn’t connect to IPhone.
@@GeckoDays probably need a software update then
Sounds like a pretty solid car. I have an E36 that required clutch, shocks, brakes, cooling system, battery, ac system, tie rods, valve cover gaskets and many sensors. 😉 25yr old car now drives like a champ.
Great video! Please continue to keep us informed. I had a 2018 440 cabriolet and now I have the 2022 M4 cabriolet competition. My 2018 was solid. 3 issues - idrive system like yours shutting off on hot days… and one day my window wouldn’t roll up. Also had the locking issue on the door. All issues fixed under warranty
The F10 m5 has a (subtle) water pot boiling whistle when it’s cold and running to 3000 rpm.
Then it has a metal rattle sound when reving (cold or hot) high, the dealer said it’s the waste gate and they couldn’t find anything wrong tearing it apart.
Both symptoms are from low mileages like 10K~20K and it just ran fine. I have 56K miles when I sold it.
I can't believe what I just heard... lol. I had to use my PHONE for navigation. Dude. Really? What if you had to pull out an actual map? What would you do then? 🤣 🤣
Funnily enough, the cord on my petrol cap went this year (I've had my car for 7 years now) but I replaced it immediately, with a new one from Amazon. It gets pretty cold over here in the UK but it either seems as though the weather you have is extreme and messing with your i-Drive and door or you might just need an update for the i-drive. I always get a check for updates when I have a service. Anyway, good vid, nice car (mine is Mineral Grey with Santorini (red) leather) and all the best.
Been looking to upgrade my gti to one of these. Your videos have been great. Thanks
Nice, Keep going! 🔥
Keep em coming boss!
One thing that’ll fail is the inner door handle pulls if you have the soft rubber ones. 2016ish they replaced with plastic. The rubber disintegrates after a while.
oem gas cap is like $25
M seat badge can be replaced with the lci ones in color
More difficult but iDrive hard drive can be replaced with ssd
Also regarding squeaks and rattles highly recommend having the dealer investigate if under warranty (if oem parts causing it ofc)
Not an ad but ever since I found FCP euro.. it’s been cheap asf to maintain my 2013 328i
Will be doing the same with my 2020 M2c when the new car warranty expires!
FCP Euro allowed me to restore my E30 with minimal hassle. I still miss BavAuto as the catalogs and tutorials really provided a community feel, but yeah, FCP is a great team!
used to have an F30 335, had the same issue with the idrive shutting off completely at random times. Wasn't very common but it happened.
Thanks for warning ⚠️ us about the gas cap and latch in the trunk. My only gripe is the interior creeks and rattles when temperatures dip below 32 degrees. It’s rock solid when the temps are warmer
If you look above where the wire connects you’ll see a hole for the cap top sit inside of
yoo noti gang👀
Damn I love your car man and thank you for warning us about these problems!!
What year is this M4? Im looking at a buying 2018 M4 Vert
I had an issue with the Idrive will crash after turning on the car if the car has been turned off and turned back on a couple times within an hour. E.g. you're moving from one parking lot to another turning off the car each time. Eventually the idrive will just crash and have to reboot, the same way yours was affected by cold.
Best looking M4
My gas cap snapped off too 😂
Ms are so reliable !!! Compared to 335is etc never ever had an issue with mine as long as your on top of oil changes all you need is tires and brakes
I haven’t had problems with the idrive in my m4. But I had a brand new 2 series that I lost signal
Cold weather, electronics that is acting a bit wierd like your idrive, have you changed the battery? test it might be bad voltage
That’s for the trunk floor to be held up. It’s a latch pretty neat
Squeaky underneath the armrest? Maybe the e-brake holder is broken and the e-brake rubs to the chassis. Change the holder to a metal aftermarket one, or simple as tying the e-brake to the frame with zip-tie
That clip in the bikt is to hold up the trunk floor when you lift it up.
my dad owns an F10 550i, same cutout with the iDrive happened in nominal temperatures. was in the car, strange gremlin to witness.
What exhaust tips do you run?
how many miles u got on it now?
Thought there would be engine related mechanical issues, so im good to buy a M4 already on 65k miles?
No signal on iDrive is a result of a low voltage Battery. Had this on my F32 and Mini F56, both were fixed with new or charging the battery.
That piece you snapped in the trunk is meant to hold grocery bags from shopping so they don't slide around the trunk when driving.
I’ve had that happen in M4 where the door won’t shut It was because it was cold outside and that latch froze
Damn really isn’t bad things dream car here saving for a f82
Hmmm lube and some user error. I have had some issues with I drive but very minimal
Can you make another video about maintenance? Ive heard BMWs are unreliable and but want one myself
You can get new badges for your seats online there is a guy named John (his CZcams channel is thicwhips) he made a video on how to replace the seat badges
Helllo . .
I have a BMW M4 2014 F82 also and on dash board front of me after i brake on the second or third time come up this info :
" bad fuction position "P" of gear box "
Can some body tell me if already had this information on the bord?
The car when stop it stays brake with gear box ...it works. And always use hand brake of course
Some body can help me out?
I will go to a bmw dealer ..probably..
I had the iDrive and the door lock issue when I had my 15 f30. Also had a slight humming sound when driving slow especially during parking when it was hot outside.
Yo i was searching for a video like that
I Watch this video about M4 and i start to remeber i dont have this problem, i dont have bmw M4 😂
Change the title of this post to: No Problems with my used BMW M4, I posted a video for clicks. Get a mini van & review the cupholders
Anyone have a temperature transmission warning?
Thank You Almighty God for blessing me with Your grace I will buy one for myself
Well that’s 5 minutes I’m never going to get back
My door on my f30 335i does that same thing. Only rarely tho
Best car to have!
Dope af
I broke a rear axle on launch control. Be careful!
I own an F series but that aside, the whole gas cap thing, its good practice and everyone should do it on their cars- cut that cord off and never use it. It just leads to people getting lazy and when they fill up, they don't use the hole on the hinge to hold their cap, so they let it fall against the car, causing scratches around the fuel door area.
right
Hey guys, need some help, looking into m4s, is it okay to look at them with 70k miles?
need an answer to the same Q
Hayyyyyy, Michigan ❤️
My 2016 M235i I-Drive cuts in and out sometimes I don’t know what causes it but it’s very strange sometimes it just completely shuts off and then reboots itself.
Auto start stop ?
Engine malfunction on the screen?
Duuude I thought I was alone!! This happens in my 2016 X5 sometimes. It’ll completely go black and then pop up with red letters saying it’s reconnecting
Depends on the weather
@@ynwa8459 bruh
Lol 0 degrees super cold. Come to Canada bud
This plastic clip comes on the 2011 bmw 328i E92 coupe
*no mechanical issues*
“Write that down”
where is your backcat?
As long as its minor things like these, id take it any day of the week
Absolutely. Fast but reliable at the same time. German engineering at its finest 👌
Fuel Injectors?
It’s a newer car fuel injectors are perfectly fine I’m sure lol
Seems like it’s very reliable no engine issues at all? Gaskets leaking?
No leaks
Ok good! Love your vids man keep it up
was expecting way worse
That's basically no issue!
Is that the roof of Valley College 🧐
My rear diff started leaking around 35,000 miles. Cost me $900 to repair.
I want one soooo bad
It holds the lid up in the trunk
So not bad then.
Pretty much common problems on any car
🔥🔥
good problems
dope no engine probs
I might get an M4 or an M4cs soon
Keep on wishing brother
@@kathyy5903 what?
Wait til it hits 85-90k miles…lol.. having owned a E92 m3 brand new and a f30 m3 brand new..both with regular oil, trans, maintenance checkups…would start having smoke coming out front..coolant,radiator, gasket problems..on both…and yes i drive my cars like they stolen, red lining every time and hitting 140plus daily…but whats the point owning a sports car when u dont do that…now im switched to mercedes amg’s…doing the same wear n tear…so far 30k miles and no problem..we will see later, haha
Of course your cars will be fucked if you constantly drive like it's stolen. No performance car will last if you do that, including hypercars and supercars, which are well over the price of an m3.
bro your car is beautiful
Thank you
Fresh aquaracer.
It’s just the I drive resetting, not uncommon. You didn’t even mention the turbos which are weakest point 0f the car - just had mine replaced at 52k miles. So you’ve got that coming mate, don’t even mention if / when you need to change the clutch 😢 so tryst me you haven’t even got to the pain point yet ! To add these cars suffer from rocker cover and rocker gasket issues, sump gasket issues and also the big issues is the crank hub pulley………….these are the real problems I’ve listed……..not a broken plastic wire to the petrol cap Lmfao.
Not gonna lie that’s why I’m terrified of getting a German/European car they sound and looks good but man unreliable 🤦🏽♂️. I was gonna get the f10 m5 or the m140i went to the dealership and I took them for a drive , ended up leaving with a GSF . Not one problem nearly 2years now 👌
This is probably one of the most reliable m cars if you do your maintenance. Modern bmw especially b58 etc are super reliable, it's really just like a Russian roulette whether you get someone's ticking time-bomb or not; Because the previous owner thrashed it.
lmao this level of "unreliable" is terrifying to you? that's really sad
These are getting to 5-6 years old right? the real issue are about to hit. The cooling systems, the keys and those screens are first ones.
I’m going to purchase a f82 with 60k miles hopefully it goes well.
How’s it going ?
@@mikelaary911 pretty good I’m at 67k miles down pipe tune upgraded all cooling systems running solid so far
But other than that the car is pretty solid.
BROOO my am is currently making a squeaking noise by the front left tires when I’m cruising with the foot off the gas, drives me nuts😂😂 brakes and rotors are brand new and the cars only got 32k miles
Are you sure rotors and bushings are brand new make sure because if the car only has 32k miles it should not be making squeaky noises.
....so in otherwords the F-chassis, specifically the f80/f82, is perfect. Noted.
I’m gonna make a video about a bad meal I had at a restaurant
If this is problems u have no problems 😊
the door lock is a bmw thing, happens to most of the bmw :)
Hi
Love the content man but the videos are super short we need longer videos
Maybe he should pull more non-existent problems out his ahz?
@@linksean652 i said the videos not the video learn how to read
LOL! Its no Acura or Lexus buddy. What did you expect
most of these aren't "problems" just wear and tear, user error type shit. i was thinking you were having mechanical issues. nice car tho
aye michigang
Thought about getting one of these but I had a 335i before and hated it. It made me hate BMW. I bought an AMG C63S instead and never looked back.
No problems with my idrive whatsoever
S55 is a very solid car , if you put a bear on your roof your roof will bend , shame on bmw
Beemer = 2 wheels
Bimmer = 4 wheels
So I live in Florida so most of your problems won't apply to me since I don't live in no goddamn god-forsaken frozen tundra and then a couple of other things you just broke Yourself by accident sounds like a pretty good car
its a BMW c'mon man these things are legendary money pits... lol.
Make a real video about what's wrong
Bmw work well when new, it’s time to get rid of it lmao
just like any car genius? :D
these are all the problems you had? just wait until you own a Tesla
So nothing mechanical… wow.
Then get out of Michigan it aint shit out there
