How to replace the rear brakes on 2007-2015 Chevy Impala Similar process for any rear disc brake vehicles that have the parking brake incorporated with the caliper.
It's great that you know how to do this. Brake shops charge an arm and a leg to do brakes. I can get brake parts way cheaper than brake shops charge people. Nice video, thanks.
Thanks for the video, gonna attempt the rear brakes on my wifes 2011 impala this weekend. Tracked down the tool on Amazon so hopefully it fits. Great video!
Looks easy to me, I'm still having to do hub brakes on my 88 ford f-150. But my girlfriend just bought a 2009 Chevrolet Impala, old police car. That I'm fixing to have to put brake pads on and I was just wanting heads up before I started, thanks for the video.
Thank you. I have done my brakes on my Camry a few times so I felt I had the grasp of handling this task. I bought my 2014 Impala limited LT a few months back and I need to do the brake pad this week. I struggled and was looking for suggestions in how to push the calipers back and realized I need the Disc Brake Piston Tool to rotate the piston back while watching this video. I am kind of mad at myself, but I am relieved it will be easy. I am going to chase down the tool today and knock my brakes out. Thank you again for the video man.
To anyone else reading this comment and wanting another method - use needle nose pliers. As long as the caliper isn't seized, they'll work in a pinch if you can't get to the store to buy the tool. (Not everyone has multiple cars or watches a video first before starting the job.)
I believe they come with locktite from the factory. I saw remnants of either orange or yellow. Not sure if someone else put it there, or it was factory. But a cheater bar works wonders. Or a breaker bar. Just takes a bit of maneuvering. If you broke all the bolts, someone put them on before you WAY WAY too tight. As I literally wrenched mine off with a tire breaker bar. And none of em snapped. I even used an impact for a bit before breaking out the breaker bar too. So some asshole screwed you over big time. (Either sent em home with a 1/2in impact, or cross threaded the hell out of em.)
thak yoy for this video I have Chevy impala 2011, I replace rear brake pads but lost the power of parking brake what should I do to strenghten it again???

Nobody ever mentions the different slider pins on the rear calipers and which one goes on top and which one goes on the bottom it’s ridiculous

My brake caliper bolts were extremely torqued on, ended in braking almost all my bolts and needed to replace the bolts and bolt sliders.
Oh wow, Bette to get it done now than on the side of the road

Try to pump the brake pedal, it should adjust the piston to the correct position
Can you put an amazon link for caliper spin tool?

What’s the tork weight when you put back the brake calipers
For the caliper bolts or the bracket bolts?
Lol both will be great thanks
@@hombregreen8770 88 ft lbs for the bracket and 32 ft lbs for the caliper bolts. Hope this helped! Subscribe!
German spec is gutentight
There’s a much better tool that is used to compress the piston that doesn’t require disassembly of the calliper. Saves a lot of time.
what is it
