Congratulations to him! Not only for amassing this stunning collection, but also for not interrupting the appraiser when he clearly knew about most of the information she was so graciously providing us with. Classy and rewarded for such.

There are some lovely shops on etsy that do custom items. More modern designs, but some very beautiful. :)

Wow. He’s a great collector. Hopefully he will keep them and use them to educate others. I love learning about different cultures so I found the jewelry fascinating. And the fact that it has actual human hair in it is very interesting.

This is breathtaking--no pun intended. I would wear many of these pieces. They deserve places of honor and respect every bit as much as tombs, urns, and plots.

This is an example why I love hunting pre-owned jewelries from pawnshops or estate jewelry sales coz sometimes on rare occasions you can hit the jackpot from buying just 1 item if you know what you are doing! ✨💍✨

Our pet crematorium does do Jewelry. They take a print of nose or paw and then have it made into charms or lockets. Im waiting to save a little so i can have a charm bracelet done. They are pricey! But anything to keep something of my beloved boxer dog close.

As a society, we no longer have proper rules for mourning so we tend to be lost when this happens. We typically turn to euphemisms such as "a celebration of life " instead of a funeral. We no longer want to wear black or dress conservatively for an acceptable length of time. We are just adrift in this. We need to come back around to having some proper rules for mourning the loss of a loved one.

    • @elizabradley4797

I agree. As if they never lived. Had a lovely little mourning bracelet leather covered with small silver intaglioed clasp on it. Did not know it was mourning jewelry & wore it too often. Gone. I was instructed by my selfish money eating sister to not cry at my mother's service. She is evil. It devastated me for years. Some decorum needs to be returned. Think black is appropriate. I have quite the Victorian's mind.

@@hd-xc2lz The disapproving judgement of people's reactions is one of my least favorite things about the comments section of these videos, especially given the complexity of humans and the unique relationship each one has with the items. People process emotions very differently, and emotions can be very mixed when a cherished item turns out to be valued much higher than expected. Do you sell the items you love for the money? Do you donate them to a museum for their cultural value and preservation? What about insurance, or proper storage for delicate items, should you decide to keep them? Not everyone squeals when they're excited. Allow people to be complex.

@@NathanielDowell Couldn't have said it better. Sadly, generosity in judgement toward any filmed unfeigned response is practically an anathema to social media exchange. One additional factor affecting reactions on ARS is the imposing presence of camera and lights, an unfamiliar conversational setting for 99.9% of us.
