- Join Paul and Martin as they react to Celtic's scintillating win over Dundee.
The Celts came out firing on all cylinders with an early set-piece header converted by Carter-Vickers, followed by two more headers from Idah and O'Riley. Maeda then made it four, with Taylor and McGregor also scoring to make it 6 before the break. The second half saw the appearance of Daniel Kelly who fired one into the top corner to score his first goal for the Hoops.
Celtic will travel to Tynecastle on Sunday for a tricky fixture against Hearts.

Only took Brendan the entire season to give the man a proper chance. Ange knew what he had when he recruited him and for him to sit most the season on the bench is a disgrace from BR!

Iwata was player of the year in the J league so he's got to be a player . Brilliant performance from the wingers getting good early crosses in. HH
CCV calms the defence down and allows every player to enjoy their football. We played with confidence and it showed first half we’re a different animal. Let’s go to tyncastle and repay hearts with a winning performance. Mon Celtic let’s do this✊🍀
Said it for 2 seasons, while Jota, Hatate and Kyogo got most of the awards and praise, that CCV is by far and away or best and most important player. Its also fantastic that you can throw in crosses from anywhere and Idah can score.
Edit: doesnt hurt that i had a tenner on CCV for first goal at 28/1, was bricking it that it might be an og lol.
It is a very poorly understood part of Angeball that the success of his stay in a attacking mentality always depends critically on having the right, excellent defence and ccv was without doubt the anchor for that at Celtic under Ange and now Brendan

Iwata gives the team a much better shape, while allowing Callum and Matt the freedom to do what they are good at, making things happen in the final third.
Now the challenge is to show consistency and keep up the level of performance until the end of the season. That’s what we’ve struggled with all season. Can’t afford anymore sloppiness, time we put together a long winning run, up the Celts 🍀
Iwata gives stability, Yang offers more than any other winger,, Idah is a must up front for the upcoming games, and CCV is the most importamt player in the side.... CCV brings a calmness along that defense.. CCV, Iwata and Idah is a backbone of the side sureley..

Great performance, but much bigger test next Sunday & we’ll get a better idea of whether we’ve finally got our act together or not. Just a mention for the BBC reporter Jane Lewis. Fair play to her for not making a big deal about the “good girl” comment. Plenty of media outlets have jumped on Brendan & tried to make it a story, but she shut it down by saying she wasn’t offended at all & there was nothing in it. A refreshing common sense attitude in a crazy world..🍀🍀
Thought we would win but didn't expect a 7-1 scoreline & thought Yang was man of the match the only blemish was not keeping a clean sheet

A fit CCV was the biggest difference. When he's out we are a bomb scare. When he's on we look so much better.
For all the fans that wrote young Yang off saying his rubbish and not good enough shame on you 😂. The kids a player and will only get better with more games and development at the club.
Fans say what they see and Yang has had some very poor performances and been hooked at halftime in a few games. Thats on him not the fans. when he plays well he gets the plaudits, thats how football works.

Iwata brings a good balance to the team freeing up McGregor.

Why did it take so far into the season to get the intensity up to proper levels ?
The team tonight were definitely up for it. Hopefully the improvement continues for the rest of the season.

It is now for the board to meet them halfway and assure them if they win the league they won't have to put up with the naked emperor anymore.
MO back in form was the difference. If he maintains that level and CCV stays fit we will win the league.
Agree Celtic need to worry less about retaining possession and safe back passes. Over a 90 mins Ange had the view just create as many chance as you can, goals will come. Crucial that the wingers take their man on and get crosses in. Saw in many previous games they didn't want to do it. Yang, Johnston Taylor Idah all very good against Dundee. Would like to see Kyogo do more runs to pull defenders out of position when hes on the park. This season hes been really static. Rodgers needs to let him play to his strengths
Finally a performance we've been craving for, all positive in every area of the pitch. That said it'll be pointless if we don't go to swinecastle and win, O'riley back to his best, AJ was excellent and Iwata must start every week. Top show bhoys.

Every player played like their lives depended on it!
Every play seemed to with real purpose and they looked determined to not give Dundee a sniff at the ball!
Still need to address the fact that the second half was 1-1 and they still didn't score more even with that intensity and performance.
If the match was 1-1 at the half we're having a different chat and be in a different mood about the game and result.

think players and manager now know they have a recipe for results… keep the same team same tactics and we have a good chance of regaining our crown, watch rangers yesterday… they are winning games but they are very beatable… kilmarnock showed there weaknesses up and that’s them with their strongest team available. hopefully ccv isn’t bad- and with hatate coming back, we’ll only get stronger… i just fear injuries will hinder us.. we are so unlucky with injuries to our BEST players

Kyogo looked non existant when he came on. He really doesn't suit the way Rodgers sets the team up, I think this may be his last season at celtic. Playing in Scotland where 90% of players sit behind the ball and congest the box doesn't allow him space to run behind and he has no physicality. Even though the team won Scales, Taylor and Welsh still needlessly make sloppy passes on a number of occasions under little to know pressure. The defence we have have is making it hard for the midfield and front 3 to play as aside from Carter vickers and johnston they always pass square, back or give it away. Scales against any sort of quality is a bombscare.
The team played a higher tempo and pressed at a good intensity almost like a throwback to last season but the defence is so poor. Clean sheets almost don't exist for celtic just now

@jamiehughes91 it's the bigger picture mate, if you give the ball away against poor teams and pass it out of play under no pressure when you do it against better teams you get punished. It's about standards. 2 of the back 4 are not good enough. Kyogo doesn't have the skillset needed to thrive in a Rodgers set up. You can't have a good result against Dundee at home and pretend everything is OK. Dundee were unlucky their goal got ruled out. Again poor defending scales takes his eye off his man the boy makes a run and Carter vickers does his best to make a block and to be fair it was a good finish
@@gregnichol8290 Kyogo managed fine before against teams that park the bus. Tonights the first time the team has started playing early crosses into the box which suits Kyogo. There is also no other player in the team that would have scored the two goals he did aganst rangers this season but i do agree that Rodgers wants a biggger presense in attack and is slowly fazing him out the team. I also agree that welsh and scales arent good enough and we need a better player beside ccv.
@jackjones1249 kyogo did fine before because it was a completely different system. He isn't suited in a Rodgers team and would be better off being sold in the summer. He isn't good enough in Europe anyway, against quicker more athletic defenders he always struggles to impact games. In a postecoglou system in Scotland he scores because defenders are generally slower in worse teams, the higher up the ladder you go they have size and speed so he just gets bullied. Taylor is also nowhere near the standard celtic need, he should be the standard on the bench. Celtic are buying players these days for less money than they did in the 90`s. Take inflation into account and you can see how much poorer the caliber of player celtic are buying is. All this while the board hoard cash, brag about it before a transfer window, bring in a winger who on first showings looks awful and a loan signing from Norwich

We seen the same nonsense spoke about Kyogo when GG was in form and Kyogo came back stronger and sent GG out the country. Kyogo scores goals that Idah cant im not sure Idah can do the same. Rodgers clearly wants a physical presense so Kyogo is sadly probably going to get moved on. Taylor is a weak spot in europe but so is every player bar CCV, Hatate, O'Riley and Kyogo i would say.
