Rėkyva AB - the company produces natural peat products and peat substrates.

The main production of the company is intended for professional growers: the company produces natural peat products (such as PEAT MOSS) and peat substrates conforming to the highest quality standards.
Currently, the company is producing over 1000 different products: fractionated milled and sod peat, substrates for gardeners. Our products are made from milled and sod peat of high-moor Sphagnum type only.
The stock company Rėkyva is one of the oldest and largest companies within the Lithuanian peat industry, producing the highest quality peat and its substrates for professional growers. The company operates in Rėkyva and Degesynė peat bogs in Lithuania as well as peat bogs in Latvia.
The peat of Rėkyva AB is high-moor Sphagnum type peat, ideal for sowing a variety of seeds as well as plant germination and growth. We are an export company: approximately 95 percent of our production is delivered to more than 50 countries around the world.
Depending on the season, the company employs from 120 to 250 professional staff. Our distinctive features are experience and responsibility. The company’s rapid modernization, the introduction of new technologies, updated machinery, and the use of high international management standards feature our methodical steps towards becoming one of the leaders in peat and its substrates production in the world.
In 2012 a modern business management system was implemented in the company.
The renovation and modernization of the company’s peat and peat substrate production unit in Rokiškis were completed in 2013. The successful implementation of the project allowed for a significant improvement in the quality of production.
This success encouraged the construction of a new modern peat and peat substrate production and packaging plant in Rėkyva, Šiauliai. From the moment the plant went into operation in 2014, the production process has changed fundamentally. The automation and computerization of the plant have ensured the opportunity to maintain the quantitative and qualitative production parameters during the entire manufacturing process, thus minimizing the impact of human work.
In the near future, we plan to continue to actively pursue the development of peat extraction fields in neighboring countries. It is expected that from 2014 to 2016 the company will collect 2 to 2.5 times more raw material peat and produce peat production at a volume of 700 000 - 800 000 m3 from the owned and newly reclaimed fields of exploitation.
