INTRODUCTION
Hi there. welcome to episode 22 of The Paint Show!
In this one we'll be reviewing Daniel Smith's Quinacridone Burnt Orange, from their Secondary Set.
This is a nice continuation from the previous episode, in which we featured Carbazole Violet (which is also a part of Daniel Smith's Secondary Set).
So what I think I'll do next is complete the set by presenting Undersea Green (which is a BEAUTIFUL color, probably the most beautiful and unique of this set).
And I'll then put them all in a "Daniel Smith Secondary Set" playlist (:
If you are interested in purchasing this tube, you can do so here (affiliate link): amzn.to/2FDpjCb
And here's the link to get the entire set: amzn.to/2FzE20T
By the way, this isn't really a substitute for the discontinued Quinacridone Gold (gold bless its soul), but is a little similar.
So if you miss that, give this one a try (:

You have a really good sense of pigments.
What nice timing to compliment my orange video this week! This is my favorite orange and it was fun seeing you play with the different mixes :)
In Liquid Color :: Orange fever taking over the world!! 😀
This is definitely orange season 😁 Especially with Quin Gold gone 😱
Really enjoyed your vid!
i guess I am kind of off topic but do anyone know a good site to watch newly released movies online?
@Jesiah Tony Lately I have been using flixzone. You can find it on google :)
@Boone Rowen Yup, I've been using flixzone for since april myself :D
This is especially helpful for me. I can’t afford to buy all colors.
I just started using this and I Love It. It has everything I like, transparent first, and granulating.. Thanks Liron
Thank you, happy this helped 😊🙏🏼
I hope to focus more on the properties of paints in my own work in the future.
As of now I simply choose based on color, and don’t think too much about transparency, granulation and so on.
It's nice to see you test less obvious mixes. I like PO48 I use it with lemon yellow and indanthrone blue to make sap green.
Oh, very interesting! I should try this mixture as well (:
By the way I really enjoy your Instagram posts 👌🏼👏🏼😊
I love this series. Hope you do more color stories!!
Thank you! Will try and do one soon, had a lot of requests 😁😁
Thanks, great info. Due to your review, I ordered the DS secondary trio. I'm really enjoying them. Really appreciate this series. I've purchased quite a few new colors based on your observations!
I’m really happy to hear 😊🙏🏼 Thank you.
I try to go for useful paints that can be used for multiple applications.
I can't wait to see this with pthalo blue gs...thanks for the video, and as someone else said I really like your uncommon mix choices
Thank you ^_^
Happy to hear you enjoy this and my uncommon mixes (:
Thanks for the video, Liron. Great series.
Thank you so much, many more episodes to come in the future 😊🙏🏼
again a great showcase of this colour, tfs
My pleasure 🙏🏼😊 Trying to make these reviews more and more useful!
Yay, the Paint Show!
It will be a little more frequent in the upcoming weeks 😊😉👌🏼
Thanks for the review Liron. 💞💫
My pleasure, thank you 🙏🏼😊
I just bought this the same week so woohoo on timing!
Haha we are in synch! (: Did you like it?
I have the MGraham version (their marketing name is Quinacridone Rust). The 'handprint' web page agrees with you that it is staining rather than non-staining. It is very close, perhaps a bit more chroma, to my W&N Burnt Sienna PR101. I will buy the PO48 from now on I think.
Very interesting. Schmincke’s Burnt Sienna also makes use of PR101 and it’s one of my favorites 😁👌🏼
The thing with PY150 is that it's transparency is beautiful!! It's my favourite yellow so far and it's amazing, please try it makes amazing mixes and by itself is very vibrant. The mass tone looks almost like a mustard colour and the diluted tone is very close to a primary yellow. Also, i've been binging on your videos about paint and palettes lately, very very good to relax and learn at the same time because i love colour and watercolours and it makes me exited to paint and draw and create it's amazing~
Thank you so much 😊
I’ll give it a chance the next time I get paints 👌🏼 I heard it’s a great one.
Friday i recieved my very first artist grade paints. 12 pan set of Sennelier l aquarelle and 10 color set of Daniel Smith. I have been using W&N Cotman... havent opened the DS paints yet but the difference in Sennelier and Cotman is mind blowing. So much more pigment and so much easier to mix and lay down on paper. Never used tube paints befmore but im looking forward to the DS paints also!
This is such a happy moment 😁👏🏼👏🏼
I remember making the switch to DS and it was incredible!
Enjoy them!
Thanks Liron, as usual great video. I do have a problem though - your videos give me the urge to go out and buy more paint, and I've already got too many options :-) I especially like seeing the mixes that are created.
Haha, a problem we all have 😂🎨🎨🎨🎨🎨 Thank you 🙏🏼
Loved the video 😀 very helpful
Thank you so much ^_^ Happy to hear 🙏🏼
Quinacridone Burnt Orange was one of the tubes of paint that I got with my Susie Short's Essential 7 set from Daniel Smith. At the time I bought the set, it cost about half the price of what it does now. I'm not sure if Susie Short still does instruction workshops for Daniel Smith; but, I know she used to. She had a group called Watercolor Workshop on Yahoo Groups. But, when the format of the groups changed 3 or 4 years ago, she moved the group to Facebook. I don't use Facebook; so, I don't know if the group is still there; but, it might be. Look it up if you get a chance.
i love Quinacridone Burnt Orange. I use it in mixes that call for Burnt Sienna. I also use it to grey down French Ultramarine. It is one of my favorite sunset colors.
Wow, didn’t know it used to cost half the price!
I love this one too, and it seems we use it similarly 😊
Fuck this is the best fucking color in the world!
It's very popular for a reason! 😁

Thank you, I’ll definitely keep you updated if I come visit 😁🙏🏼
11:43 time stamp...what is that color please? I hear you saying it, but I can’t find it in the Daniel smith colors. Thank you! 💛💚. It’s like an old world yellow/green. I love it!
Eja Moon New Gamboge - Daniel Smith definitely do it.
Kyomii thanks so much! I found it! 💛
Happy you found it 😊🎨
I was just sondering. Whats the difference between this one and Quin. Gold? This looks warmer but how come?
The discontinued Quin Gold is much more yellow actually (and I believe it’s PO49).
I never owned or used it, so can’t tell the exact characteristics, but it looks significantly different, and could be used as a primary color.
3:05 you say it s granulating, but it s not (really confused actually, everybody says it s granulating but it seems not !!! )
shalom. like you channel
