This is a good matchup. Both guys been wanting a shot a Canelo for a while now, this is the perfect way to prove who deserves it. Canelo MUST fight the winner. An emphatic win will put more pressure on Canelo to take the fight.
Both guys have been calling for the stimulus check but refused to take steps to get there. Andrade has been pulling out of every step up fight since 154 and pulled out of his mandatory shot at 168. David refused a unification with stablemate Plant, never fought his years backed up mandatories Yildirim and Callum Smith, and gave up his one belt despite Canelo lining up titles, and ducked another title shot at 175. Canelo-Jermell was the p4p undisputed vs undisputed matchup. Benavidez-Andrade is the poor man's bottomfeeder bracket.

If you don't want to bring up Canelo's choice not to fight Andrade at 154 and/or 160, then you don't need to bring up Andrade not fighting Parker to earn a mandatory shot at Canelo and his 168 wbo title.

Demetrius Andrade by SD because one judge will rate Benavidez's forward style higher than Andrade's boxing. Andrade can get rough on the inside & has underrated power. I believe Andrade will surprise Benavidez and the viewers with his abilities and a sneaky Southpaw jab.
I wouldn't be surprised if Benavidez won. Andrade's now 35 and isn't what he was at 30. However, I see the very best Andrade showing up to surprise everyone.

For Andrade to win he'll have to come out of the starting gates with a vengeance, and do some serious damage early on.
He's normally a fast starter, so he could pull it off. But if Benavídez can withstand Andrade's early onslaught, it'll be a long night for Andrade.
Benavídez has a better engine and he has a high punch output. Whereas Andrade tends to experience a performance drop during the later rounds. Like Caleb Plant.

Fight in Texas??? Sheeeeiiiit. Paulie can tell you about Texas. This is a really good matchup that is not going to be as close as most think. After the 6tj or 7th round, whoever has their gameplan going will thouroughly dominate the rest of the fight and will win am easy decision IF it goes the distance. I see Benavides by 10th round stoppage and Andrade by 5th round stoppage if it does not go 12 rounds. If the fight goes the distance, Benavides by decision by simply out hustling Andrade.
Just another walk in the park for Benevidez..No matter what anyone saids..
Andrade better not get tired, or slow down because he uses a ton of movement. But if he can contol the fight at close mid and on the outside, he wins, but he needs to fight smart and do some holding, he doesn't want a handsfree benavidez on his case!

Benavidez is favorite. He should win he's quick uses pressure and hits extremely hard. But we'd all love an upset. Andrade is skilled. We shall see.
Tims assessment is good, but at 168 we don’t know
Andrades southpaw style and speed/natural awkwardness have enabled him early in a lot of fights to drop his opponent however then retreating to a more defensive mode and not attempting to finish an opponent. So he does have some pop. What then happens if he rings Benavidez bell early on. Used to walking through opponents straight on he may get thrown off his game plan and watch the fight then turn in to almost a boring decision win by Andrade. I'm not saying it wouldn't be close but I don't see Benavidez having the ability to all the sudden match those fst hands with feet and head movement to outbox Andrade. Andrade reminds me of Crawford in certain respects except for that killer finisher instict- a wily boxer punching southpaw. Wonder how the odds will shake out?
